I like modding therefore I like this chat 🙂
as part of this "Introduction to Enfusion" lesson. Can we cover how to setup folders for modding/downloading/running servers/local testing?
I've seen people talking about "you shouldn't do X in X folder" up in the modding channels.
heck a lesson on pros/cons of different testing methods would be great too. i.e. workbench vs peer tool vs local server vs dedi server.
also if there is an actual syllabus for the upcoming lessons would it be possible to share it with the community to allow content creators to "re-craft" it into content on other platforms(youtube, twitch, bluesky, tiktok, etc)?
are we going to discuss script debugging techniques within the engine? I'd also like a full list of entry points for scripts depending on what you are looking to do.

Why not just move the category up to the reforger category while the boot camp is happening and then move it down again

bootcamp is not really suppose to be a tutorial, but a intro into each individual section (editors) of the tools, with a working example which you can follow along if you want to
the general editors are:
- world editor
- particle editor
- animation editor
- script editor
- audio editor
- behaviour editor
- string editor
- procedural animation editor
+++ - other sections of the workbench such as prefab editor, xob setup, texture and material section and UI editor (might be missing some parts here)
discord autocoverts the UTC timezone to your local timezone. the only published timezone at least from my knowledge was 20:00 UTC

Will we get a tutorial for modding bootcamp on expanded animations, e.g., a guy is opening a door and going into a vehicle or trying to reload a weapon and of course, trying to implement those animations in the Enfusion engine?
Hi, I wanted to learn how to do it with the mods. The reason for this experience is that I know UNREAL quite well. But I haven't quite gone through the ENFUSION engine yet. I'm looking for someone who has experience and with whom you can sit down together and set up projects together. I would prefer to be in German. I can speak English. But it's easier to work together if you speak your mother tongue. In this case, German.
My first projects:
- Server Arsenal config / core
- Server Banner
- Server Scenario
- Levelsystem Reconstruction
(start small first)
Future projects:
- New Weapons P90, Scar H, more sniper
- New vehicles Leopard 1/2, Fuchs, Pzh 2000
- New Map (Switzerland, Austria, Germany)
I would very much welcome it if you can find a team to build all this together. I just need the basics first. Have seen the boot camp videos. But that doesn't make you quite smart. I look forward to hearing from you. Just send me a friend request.

I have a server on Nitrado hosting, and i installed Server Admin Tools, but if i change the config nothing happens.

in the server admin tools description it says nitrado isnt supported

If you were to run a bootcamp on the cinematic editor, a really good example/tutorial would be recreating the 'camera flies around a frozen scene with custom poses' we've seen in these update teasers recently

I am in a huge help everyone! my mod (weapon mod that uses ak74 base) doesn't have any sound in the reload animation, every other sound of the guns works except the reload
Did you make custom animations? If so they need events to play the sounds (copy them from a vanilla animation)

At the moment, no, but there may be more Workshops like it in the future. We'll let people know.

There is an Arma 3 Creative Editing category, you can enable it in id:customize if you can't see it.

I got hemtt to build the mod and I have rust setup to build a dll but I think the game isn't loading the dll so it cant send data

What components should be deactivate so the AI can't move?
I'm trying to make a context action "freeze" in game master, so when it is clicked it would deactivate AIMovementComponent of the selected AI(s)
The problem is that the AI still can move!

Hey guys new to modding opened up Reforger tools for the first time in my life I’m trying to make a Arsenal Box with RHS as a dependency I’m watching a video tutorial as I go along but I’m having some issues that being when I’ve gone into the inventory items config files and started deleted things I don’t want into my arsenal box I now allegedly can’t save the project and I also can’t copy and paste it over into my own config files like the guys video shows him doing ? The only difference between what I’ve done and what he’s done is he’s not deleted any items where as I have anyone got any suggestions?
Did you delete the items in your config or the original config?
Also with overrides you can’t delete items, but you can hit the checkbox that says enabled (and uncheck it to disable those items)

Anything specific you're looking for?
The most i would like to see more about AI. how components are supposed to work/configured, how they are connected to each other. Kind of whats is important to look in creating new behaviours or changing them. how cover search work with ai and much more (like how reaction to danger is created). I feel like this is most unguided area with many components, while its easy to miss aspect like fullBrain Prefab or how AI handle with vehicles (i was confused while seeing AI always leaving pilot position in helicopter).
Second would be about some aspect of audio editor. I was literally destroyed personally when i created .acp of looped audio that should just playing 30 second sound in a loop. i checked all bypasses and checking if sound is audible, expecting that if i start play sound being minimal out of range i would hear the sound when i walk closer, sadly it looked like never triggered. To this day i dont understood if i maked something wrong there or i just should use signal of distance at first place always. i feel confused how audio worked in so simple scenario, while 3 basic nodes there should literally do all the job.
overall as much i like how long and how much freedom was in all bootcamps videos i feel like they didnt have proper plan what show, how show it. Like the behaviour tree bootcamp was 2 persons and personally i feeled the most confused in entire video there. Some of them were like for beginners, some were feel like of intermediate guys, but with this one i feel missed something to read/learn to have beginner knowledge to be able to understand some of the intermediate.
tldr:
kind of intro into trying to understart how AI work and how handle with behaviours and system connected to it.
some simple scenarios of creating sounds -> i literally get defeated by audio that i wanted to start playing when player is still out of audio range.
A more advanced clothing tutorial would be cool, like a jacket or pants, also creating a reticle showing how to measure mils
someone here ever work on a custom faction in Arma Reforger? i am currently having issues where our custom faction cannot build anything from the Command Post and am not able to figure out why. To clarify, we are not able to build things such as repair stations, ammo caches, fuel points etc. while playing as our custom faction
its been a bit too long since I did it to remember how I did it, but if you open British Forces mod in the workbench you should be able to see all the bits we needed to touch/change/add to get it working
So I replicated as much of RHS as I could. Because they somehow have it where they can build those compositions while the cp is under the us flag. I just for the life of me can't replicate it.
When one of our guys did it for us he just overrode the base us faction and we haven’t run into those issues. We don’t use RHS though.
We duplicated the base game US faction and gave it its own faction Key. I was using rhs to see if there were settings that I needed to have to ensure it used us stuff
Have you tried changing the faction of the command post to your custom faction? With the duplication you should be able to have us flags in that as well if wanted.
