Popular Arma 3 Game Modes

I frequently see questions related to “What’s a good game mode” or “What should I play?” The answer is “Play what you like”. Unfortunately, many don’t know what’s out there, or only know of what they’ve seen others play on YouTube. As such, I’ve compiled a (very) small list of what’s out there. I’ve included the authors descriptions where possible and links to their locations. They are broken down MP and Survival genres. Other than that, they are in no particular order.

Multiplayer, CoOp, PVP, PvE (note, the following do not require Mod downloads)

King of The Hill (KOTH) - King of the Hill is a three team sector control mission within ArmA 3. As you play you will gain experience which will in turn unlock new gear and vehicles to aid your teams efforts to control the zone. http://armakoth.com/

If anyone is interested, My server just went up as a relaxed milsim. You are not required to attend meetings or long trainings to play. You also don't have to work for a long amount of time, to achieve the ability to fly or drive something. It is meant to be a milsim that promotes fun, but with a realisitc tone.

IF you are on the East Coast of US and maybe even Mid-East you will get between 100 and 200ms Ping (depending on your connection), but West Coast and Mid-West will have ping higher then 200ms

Ah well I've seen them on my server too (milsim) and the only thing they want is drive tanks or fly CAS. However our server rules state that pilots and tank crew need to be available on teamspeak so they decide to go on foot. 15 minutes later they start complaining that the 'AI is too powerful' sigh

IMO, invade and Annex servers should just remove jets / attack helicopters completely.

Like, it's fun to fly, but it doesn't interact well with the rest of the players. Or Restrict the guided munitions on the aircraft, similar to how KOTH does it. Only guns and laser guided bombs. Force the pilots to interact with the ground forces to lase targets, or call in gun runs.

The attack helicopters are unnecessary IMO. Only need transport helicopters.

They also cause a huge performance hit on the servers when the CAS tears up the AO, and destroys all the buildings.

They can only be requested through Zeus or unit members, but it is denied about 80% of the time as its mostly kids asking to fly one

Second you can't enter that server unless you're a supporter (donator) as I've heard. 3rd his stories are completely scripted as you won't encounter it as you see it in his videos @rigid fable

The player base isn't existent yet as it was just now released to the public to play on. Although in testing over a year ago, we had over 1000 unique players in our database over the course of a month or two and people really enjoyed it. But the pitch is a bit lacking, so let me explain.

Throughout this fight, players have the ability to progress through the ranking system to unlock new weapons/gear to help make their fight easier on the battlefield.

Upon capturing points, players that participated are awarded force points, which can be redeemed at base for various vehicles which they can use to dominate the opponent.

#

Whether you are playing with a couple of friends on the same team against the opposing AI, or you are in a large scale battle against a mix of players and AI, it is a lot of fun.

It is very different from KoTH. Can be played in a co-op manner with PvP.

It has a completely different ranking system and gear/unlock system.

#

Not based around perks/gear types. You unlock weapons/gear as you go along, and you get to use it as soon as you unlock it. You don't need to earn money to unlock things.

#

You don't find weapons/gear or loot side objectives like wasteland. It is pure domination style gameplay. There is obviously a lot that can be improved with it, but I need to get feedback on what to do before I can do most of it. I built two other game modes including TDM that use the same exact ranking system, so you could go from TDM to Dominate Stratis and have the same loadouts and stuff, but felt that Dominate Stratis was more of a well rounded/popular game mode during my testing with it.

Over 8,500 lines of completely original code, within a 980kb mission file.

Each channel has a channel description. It's at the top. On mobile, swipe from the right to view it. Also in #info_help_tips it is clearly stated. If it is a one off event, it belongs in #multiplayer_events but it should not be purely for promoting your server.

Ya, it is like that at the moment. If someone of a higher rank wants to give gear to a lower rank guy they could do it. So had to put some protection in.

@paper barn nothing can be done about cheaters/hackers unless they are caught in the act by server owners. They best you can hope for is that they are placed on a global ban list. By posting here (an incorrect location by the way) you accomplish nothing. Additionally, participation on this Discord is contingent on users behaviour. So far yours falls very short of an acceptable standard.
