I'm modelling the Kalashnikov concept MP 155 and i'd like to add functionalities to the screen of the weapon. If i remember correctly the is a weapon in OPTRE mod which has a screen and is showing remaining bullets in the magazine. Does that mean i can add MFDs to a weapon ?

You'll need to use a script to get the display and then modify it
Note that the display is not unique for each weapon. So players will see the same display on every other gun of the same class. A workaround is to set the display in config (hiddenSelectionTextures) and use a generic texture in the resolution lod itself

If your bounding box is big that's because something in your p3d is making it big. The bounding box will correspond to the max size your model can take including all animations (if i'm correct).

In terms of the middle you can set the names property autocenter to 0 in your geometry lod and that will make it so the centre of the model is actually where you define it in terms of your placement of the model to the origin point

Apologies for the delay, was out of the house. First picture should be the bounding box in the VR world, the second is the model, the 0 LOD and Geometry LOD are exactly the same so what you see is pretty much all there is to it

Are you defining it as a weapon by chance so you can pick it up in your inventory?
If you are and when you place it down it’s using a weapon holder, that would explain the issue
Weapon holders are a model of one or more proxies and as the proxies are defined as these big triangles in the model, something as small as your passport can have a much larger bounding box when placed if all my assumptions are correct

It's being defined as a weapon and put in a groundholder, yeah. Though the notepad from ACE doesn't seem to have any issues and it's doing what I am for config as far as I can tell. Pictures attached of cfgWeapons and cfgVehicles

you need to create a material with your texture in it, that can then be assigned to a mesh ingame, if the mesh is properly uvw unwrapped the texture will display correctly
i think you need to hit the button "show changes in viewport" or something like that.

I think the way ace implements this is different to your way. It uses an ace action to pick it up rather than being a weapon in a weapon holder, so its just an object with the model defined as the actual model you see on the ground
if you want to achieve the same but still use a weapon, you could create your own weapon holder model and scale down the proxy triangle massively so it doesn't impact the bounds

Ace uses magazines for Intel items because magazines have unique ids so they can be tracked

Not really worth making a custom model for just a groundholder IMO. Only time I've ever needed one was for facewears for my helmet sling mod.
Plus some mods check if something is just a dummy ground holder by checking if its the vanilla model

I'm going to level with you guys , There was once a time i was using Jonzie models, and other models, I genuinely and honest or any of my team never stole anything. At within my early days , my knowledge of right and wrong in this department.

I didnt know at the time that the A3L etc had ripped models from other games or Jonzie
The point i learned was when i got masses of backlash from the higher tier modelers, such as yourselves
Point is, i don't go out of my way to cause issues or be the bad guy - I respect your reasons for your feeling on ripping models and totally agree.
And right now, and have been for a while, we are doing things the right way - We still learn along the way of course.

The moderators blocked my threads because it was reported ot be using ripped models. They did say i could be unblocked if i submitted proof. I was annoyed at the fact from BI's point of view that i would be blocked because one guy made an allegation and they took the word on that. Their wasn't solid proof i'd stolen anything
