Bohemia just doesnt want to pay for cloudflare and then knowningly pushed a 1.6 update that broke all the mods, and preventing many modders from being able to recover.

Cloudflare has been timing out when people try to upload anything bigger than close to 700mb for 2 months now. BI has been aware of the problem, still pushed out an update that broke mods, but now no one can update mods to bring them into line with the update. That's why you see so few modded servers up and running.

They know about it, and have been absolutely radio silent for 2 months as to if they have fixed anything, or if there is anything mod developers can try as a work around, or...anything really.

"Working on it" does not count as any acceptable level of communication. Working on WHAT?! What's the problem? Any solutions? Suggestions for your community? They are, in fact, ignoring it. Or at the very least ignoring the community that depends on them.

The new HQ mode is a bit ass but with it I got to explore Everon from a completely new perspective and now you can see all the way to farm and the southern tail of the island from wolfhil's side, that was awesome. its probably actualy worse now i would assume with screens like oleds since they even before could see in the dark like it almost was daytime so they dont even need to use this i would assume and may even can get away with no or way less grain as everyone else, but i have no evidence for it nor can i test it myself since i dont know anyone with an oled

hello- I am trying to make a custom controller layout in Arma 3. I'm running into an issue mapping the look stick.

On the normal configuration the look stick works fine. However, if I make a custom binding where I assign the look left/right/up/down to my right stick it moves the view extremely slowly. Adjusting the sensitivity does nothing to increase this speed

is there some other binding I should use for the look stick on the controller other than the look left/right/up/down commands?

Yo so I’m not the only one crashing like crazy after the big update right? Me and everyone I know just freeze absolutely constantly and crash to the Home Screen. And this is happening on fully vanilla servers as well as community servers. There’s also a big audio glitch when in cars where you can’t hear anything except for when you look in the direction of the sound. Bro could be shooting an ak to your left and you literally would not hear it whatsoever.
Stop breaking the game just to add in things that already exist with mods. Stuff is ridiculous regardless if reforger is a technical test.

Arma Reforger is newer, new engine, and imo is more suited for PVP
also, Reforger is cross-platform while Arma 3 is PC only

Arma 3 is kind of hard to get into if you don't have/find a community to play with (but there are a lot of communities still around) while Reforger is easier to get into alone

So here’s the biggest mistake people are making in conflict commander. When they start out, their team is only going one direction. That means it’s a 50-50 shot you will meet the enemy In a reasonable amount of time. You need to go multiple directions to increase your chances of contact, because commander can only command after enemy is found and engaged

US Commanders currently spend early game avoiding the other team, thinking they are making great progress taking over the map when really the Soviets are two bases away from MOB, but they cant see them on map

The soviets exist, you need to find them quickly, within half hour and get in their way. Don’t go and start building kamensk when Soviets are at airport nearing our mob on NW coast

@tiny pebble I would start by removing the npc's smoke grenades. You can readd them later through scripts. Some ai mods influence how often smoke grenades are used. Usually ai will deploy smoke when they sustain a casualty.

I'm a reasonably competent pc user working in IT, but can't find any easy answers on the best places to host a server.

I get the impression that game-specific servers are way overpriced.

I want to be able to connect to a windows VM that I can install the reforger server on and set up myself, same as I would on my PC.

I also want it to perform well, but not sure what requirements are from a CPU, GPU & RAM perspective for a full 128 player conflict HQC server with AI.

Games being dead is also by opinion. I think most large communities will make the switch for example we have already planned to do a 90 day grace from Reforger to 4 when it drops. Meaning we will leave our servers up for 90 days on Reforger then make a complete swap to A4. That gives our members plenty of time to buy it.

I believe a large amount of the community will probably be on A4 from Reforger after 90 days which is why we decided that. Yes there may be few who either can't or don't make the switch but that's with anything.

Mods however are the biggest question mark. Mostly how fast will we have them on A4 because as much as I love Arma my group would prefer not to be stuck to a specific era. (We go anywhere from nam to modern)

Honestly I can't tell. I could tell in experimental it was so much nicer, especially against AI. The whole tap tap then a second leader they fall down.

Now it's much more immediate. But you can't tell in any multiplayer server, I can't tell if it's the lag or it's the custom weapons or what's going on. But you got to hold the trigger until the person dies.

Most of mine is asset-related. Vehicle changes break my vehicles. Most weapon reload logic or animation system changes have downstream effects on my mods. Like my scripts aren’t working because there have been changes to the underlying animation system. Variables that I once used are no longer available. And there are some other random ghost issues with animation events not triggering

When playing single player in Conflict mode in Reforger, is there a way to immediately recruit troops to follow you? It seems that you start as a private and can't build the larger barracks unless you are ranked seargent.

You don’t change the code, you write new code. Replace the API with a new one rather than breaking it. Then mark the old as deprecated

yellow lightning bolt means the base cannot reach back to main base. Basically with the new conflict you have to build bases to get to purple bases.

and bases dont resupply anymore, only harbors get supplies and its 1k per 10min

Im giving the SP campaign a go atm. After each mission i would assume if i exit the game and return back in my progression would have been saed. Unfortuantly not. I have search high and low on the save file location with nothing to be seen or saved anywhere. Any ideas friends?
