#add HW RT hit lighting reflections as an option

1st is SW with surface cache 2nd is HW with hit lighting
i think it'd be worthwhile since the game is allready going for a lot of realism in lighting, this could add to that
its not just that its low quality, its also how it contrasts with the practically perfect reflection you get when something is on screen
Do note that the HW hit lighting one had to be forced using UE4SS or UUU (i don't remember - those arent my screenshots)
(I tried to force it myself too but it wouldn't work - but the clips are mine)
I agree but if they set it to Hit Lighting by default its gonna tank the performance
It’d be way better if under Hardware Ray Tracing they added a Reflection Method option just like Unreal so the player can switch between Surface Cache and Hit Lighting for Reflections
These are two scenes I tested myself
They show the difference between RT off RT with Surface Cache and RT with Hit Lighting for Reflections
In the basement the difference between the reflections is super obvious
But in Childhood Memories there isn’t a huge gap between surface cache and hit lighting for reflections although hit lighting still gives you a bit more detail
And by the way RT shadow is buggy in this scene when you turn on Ray Tracing
@prisma goblet
Yah.. Of course i didn't mean to make it the default
i think the game looks stunning
it does, but this'd just make it even better..
add HW RT hit lighting reflections as an option
@prisma goblet is this being considered for future updates ?
hope im not being annoying.. im just curious
It's been noted down, is all I can say right now. If it shows in a future update, you'll see it noted in the changelog 😄
allright, good to know, Thanks : )
This has been addressed for v1.4; The Unreasonable setting for Lumen Quality and Reflection Quality now control the Hit Lighting and Hit Lighting for Reflections options ❤️
