Isnt that already quite accurate ? 26 guns is Only the Broadsides if you pair it would be 52 guns (without stern and bow)

If you are talking she needed a 44 - 54 on each broadside thats already in catgegory of 2-1st rates

Based off these, the in game ship is pretty close to accurate to irl gun amount wise. The 0-26-0 indicates 26 per side so 26x2

Do you even have the ship built? Game stats show per side guns as has been pointed out.

It’s 26 per side. She has 52 guns total in the game

That said, it would be great if the Constitution in game got some bow chasers considering she pretty much always had some during her active service, per the captain’s preference.

I’m going to assume that’s a joke, but if not, the Trinidad has stern guns so…

😂

Lol

Do battle mark ships not count as premiums? Or are they just “uniques…?” I forget

Trinidad has two stern cannons?

Anyway yeah give the constitution some bow chasers. While we’re at it, why is the three Hierarchs faster….

Also why is the Montanẽs, a ship famous for being fast, slower and heavier than the Sans Pareil

Speaking of the Sans Pareil, why is she (an 80-gun Tonnant class) lighter, faster, and less-heavily armed than the Redoutable (a 74-gun Temaraire class)….

These things hurt my brain 🤣

Redoutable has 0 (IRL it had 2).
Sans Pareil has 4 (IRL it had 2).
Azov has 8 (IRL it had 2).
So on and so forth. Lol

#

I especially like how on the Azov model in-game they just cut holes in the window framing on the gallery to make the fake ports

I'm not a big age of sail buff so these things don't bother me as much as they bother some of my guild mates. I just see a stat block on water normally.

I know it’s an arcade game and it’s the “post-apocalyptic archipelago reinterpretation” and all that instead of the actual ships, but still. It’s just a bit weird that they looked at a 74-gun Temaraire and an 80-gun Tonnant and said “yep let’s make the Tonnant the small one with fewer guns”

#

The Montanẽs I thought for sure was gonna be the tier I fast ship because the real ship’s only significant claim to fame was her speed. Then she was added as a heavier, slower alternative to Sans Pareil 🤣

True, they can always pull the 'it's not the real ship but an imitation' to get around any discrepancy.

#

Yeah I'm not sure if we're going to get a fast line first rate or if such a ship would have a meaningful niche with how the stats are being balanced.

It'll likely be too slow to compete with the firestorm and octo or just outclass both.

I think I like the direction you went with the Independence. The bow chasers and a bit of speed over the octo would probably meaningfully differentiate it.

You have to think about balance to other ships. Rather than a singular vessel.

If they upped crew numbers, they would have to do it across the board.

I dont even think the Hurrucan has 450 crew and that thing irl would need at least 800 to 1000

She’s got 6.0 armor in the game which is the highest of any tier IV ship. Her famously-strong hull is no doubt why the ship is a “heavy” in the game despite her real role as a pursuit vessel. I’d rather her get some more speed considering she is also one of the slowest tier IV ships.

The Three Hierarchs is imo a stronger ship. She’s faster with more crew and more firepower than the Constitution for only a slight tradeoff in survivability. Imo there’s some powercreep at play there, but personally I’d prefer if the Constitution were made to be more mobile rather than “heavier” in terms of armor and durability.

#

Currently, she’s balanced around her strong armor, which results in her being quite sluggish.

honestly i'm not really sure why they bothered with scaled crew. In theory you could just multiply gun damage to crew and crew count to get more realistic numbers without issue
