CaptainMalone, EU1, though I am sure this issue is prevalent everywhere.

Who decided that a ship can just UP AND VANISH in thin air??!?!

Humour me, as I explain this.

You're me, sailing endless sea with 2 buddies, farming imps because, why not, its fun. Suddenly, a PvPer shows up! No worries, its 3 on 1, we can do it. Then, after getting him down to 400hp, they just....poof. Out of existence. Ok, whatever, annoying, but I guess it is what it is. You watch them poof back in too far away to deal with, so you let them go. Not that you were gonna catch them anyways.

(Waiting for spam filter....)

3 minutes go by, and they show up again back at full health and hauling arse towards us, interrupt our farming, and we fight yet again, bring em down to 100hp, and they AGAIN disappear into the middle of a bright sunny day, not even freaking fog. Now it's getting annoying.

Another 4-5 minutes, you've used up most of your wood, and decide to turn back to home to go grab more. Lo and behold, here comes Octo-twat in his invisible boat yet again to attack you, finally managing to board your friend because he was low and one broadside brought them to below half, causing them to lose everything. And then sink.

So this time, you want REVENGE! You're not letting them go. You manage to anticipate where he's gonna be when he pops out of his stupid invisibility, and finally, just when you think you got him-

-he turns against the wind and goes full speed AGAINST THE WIND TO RUN AWAY WHILE YOU'RE STUCK CHASING HIM. WHAT?!?!??!

I get it, people. It takes time and effort to grind to that ship or daddy's credit card if you're lazy but at the same time, just because you decide to no life the imperial line does NOT mean you should get some overpowered piece of garbage like that. In the span of 10 minutes, managing to come back and harass 3 people to death before finally killing one, coming back with full health each and every time.

Please nerf the Octopus. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

Very easy to kill them, start with bar shot and the invis doesn't work if your within 60m.

If they can't move/sail due to to no sails, they will still be there after the 17 seconds run out of the invis.

Fair concerns, its the windrose sail bonus so you can't go directly INTO the wind but can sail much better close to upwind than normal sails

Its a slower ship in general though, so if you go downwind you win as a faster ship, if your in a larger slower ship you have a decent chance to make it run off but you chose to be a in a bigger slower ship so you can't control the engagement but you won the fight being bigger. In your example he wore you guys down.

Firestorm vs Octo for example, if the octo is chasing the firestorm wins, if the firestorm chases the octo up wind the firestorm wouldn't keep up with windrose but can do good damage to octo while chasing and catch it depending on the setup's as long as its not going right up wind on the windrose. If you even get 1 round of bar shot off the octo will lose typically.

Edit: If the octo jumps you while PvE farming point blank from stealth, this can change things but you still have options, just a tougher fight

It is true that each type of boat has pros and cons. Octopus has no cons, it is simply the most OP ship and honestly, too much.
