#Well you re definitely more serious

That's why even though I can get a job as a Loan Processor in a blink, I refuse because they are going to offer me say $60,000 per year just to process and they will have me process 40 files per month let's say. (In reality, usually, it is somewhere between $40,000 - $45,000 per year for 60+ loans per month but let's reduce the numbers a little to make their case more attractive)
If I were to do it under a company, it would look something like $477,600 per year for that type of production.
Well, I have to admit that I know next to nothing about loan processing or running your own company, but $477K per year would be insane if you were able to earn that much. Is that what youâre aiming towards?
I guess you would have various business-related costs and such. And it would definitely be much harder than working for an established company, otherwise everyone would do it
Oh yeah well in 2020 the company made $80,000
2021 - $121,000
Itâs attainable, especially considering that 40 loans amount is an average working pipeline for a lender.
But yeah itâs hard, in 2020 I hardly slept. It was just me and my business partner (who I call her business partner because she gave me the idea to start the business but she doesnât directly work in the company more like consults me. But before a business partner sheâs a friend so itâs more friendly advise) and it was just me working 20 - 22 hours a day on no food, coffee, and well cigarettes
Nice. I can't imagine what I would even do with $400K per year. Has ChatGPT been a useful tool for helping your work?
Iâm listening to some heat right now đ„ do you listen to Deep House/EDM ?
letâs put it this wayâŠâŠ
âŠ.. someone recommended me to use ChatGPT so it can teach me how to use CAGR for a pitch deck. I didnât even ask what that was just went straight to it. I was expecting something like Khan Academy. No, itâs the holy grail of research to me. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed by it, I say I can walk on water now.
How about you ?
LMAO I'm pretty damn impressed by it too. It's super useful for a bunch of stuff I do every day. I've been using it to help me brainstorm, explore interesting topics, write job applications, etc. Plus there is even more future potential in this technology as it develops. Exciting stuff!
I agree. So far it has been a miracle and all I am doing is ground work lol. I can't wait to actually use it in real-world applications and scenarios.
I tried telling my parents about it and told them to try it, but they're not very tech savvy, so I'm planning to give them a tutorial next time I see them. I'm not sure they'll find it as useful for their lines of work. But soon this AI tech will be all over the place and everyone will be using it
Imagine: "How can I impress my boss to get a raise and promotion with this presentation I have been tasked with?"
I have actually been gatekeeping it lmao
I can literally do a task that would take me 30 minutes in 5 minutes
Exactly! Thing is, your colleagues are probably asking it the same questions if they're smart. It will be a disadvantage to NOT use it
Yes, and sometimes I just need some good ideas to get me going. You know, some inspiration. It's great for that
I've yet to hear that being mentioned in my circle.
True. I think the general public is still pretty oblivious to this AI tech. But it probably won't stay that way for much longer
Random side note, ChatGPT is pretty good at writing poetry. So if you want to impress a love interest, ask it to write a romantic Shakespearean sonnet.
Yes, I agree. My professor asked us to do an 8-10 paragraph essay on the straw man fallacy and I had a lot of ideas until I realized I could finish the essay in 6 paragraphs, this was when I was in the fourth paragraph. I asked ChatGPT to give me some ideas and it gave me additional ideas to add for me to be able to write two more paragraphs and make the 4 paragraphs 6, then close them out with the counterargument and conclusion paragraph. It was phenomenal! Then, when I posted my essay in the discussions because we also had to post it and reply to one of our classmates, I noticed no one honored the requirement of an 8 paragraph minimum essay, I think I was the only one.
Especially considering how the general public wants easier
I am doing that right now, I will post it here.
Wow.... look at this:
When first I saw thee, my heart skipped a beat,
And in thy presence, time seemed to stand still,
Thy beauty, grace, and wit did me defeat,
My love for thee, no bounds or limits will.
Thou art the sun that brightens up my day,
The moon that guides me through the darkest night,
In thy sweet company, I want to stay,
Forever by thy side, in love's delight.
Thy eyes like stars that twinkle in the sky,
Thy lips as sweet as honey from the comb,
My heart and soul belong to thee, my why,
My love for thee, shall evermore be shown.
Oh, love, that makes my heart beat like a drum,
My soul and life, to thee, forever come.
It LITERALLY FITS the description of them the person I had in mind. I am using that for the next letter for sure! Thank you for the heads up, I am open to more tips if you have any more.
You're very welcome. I was pretty amazed when I asked it to write a sonnet about my sister's dog. It gave me a really good framework for me to expand on and make improvements. It was really fun, and my sister couldn't believe how good it was. I'll post it if you want to take a read
Sweet Snickers, thou art a Daschund fair,
With golden fur, brown as oaken bark,
Thou bringeth joy to all whose space you share,
Upon our hearts, thou hast placed thy mark.
With wag of tail, thou dispel all woes,
Thou art a balm to our troubled souls,
In thy presence, our serenity grows,
And our fractured hearts, thou dost console.
Thou gobbleâth treats without delay,
Thy cheerful bark, so free and gay,
In thy presence, worries melt away,
Thou fetchâth sun rays when clouds art grey.
Thy beauty transcends the finest bouquet,
Thou maketh hearts of all to quicken pace,
Unconditional love, doth thine eyes betray,
Our coldest sorrow, doest thy warmth replace.
Sweet Snickers, thou art a blessing true,
A faithful friend and companion dear,
Our love for thee forever anew,
For thou bringeth us limitless cheer.
Of all the creatures God could create,
None compare to thy loving grace,
Thou art a treasure, a plan of fate,
I pray our souls find eternal embrace.
WAIT
You mean to tell me these are original???
I was thinking it was going to write something pulled from a story
It wrote a poem and I edited the crap out of it
It's all original as far as I can tell
Maybe some lines are pulled from other poems
Not sure. But I've read a lot of Shakespeare and I don't see any plagiarism
Also, I wanted to say something that could take this even further. I theorize that with ChatGPT people will be able to learn and do things they do not know anything about. And I will do this with the Data Analysis/Business Analysis field I want to get into.
Oh wow, that is amazing.
True. It's a great resource for learning stuff. Only problem is, it sometimes provides misinformation.
Yes, it does and I will show you an example which I experienced yesterday:
It'll probably get more accurate over time, but it'll be a long time before you can fully trust it
It contradicts itself lol
It's opposite
Sagittarius A is ~25,650 light years away while Messier 81 is ~11.4 million light years away
Wait sorry, my mistake hold on because I think they fixed that
This was yesterdayâs answer
But there is A LOT of misinformation online about the subject:
I'm like dude, "Which one is it ?!"
Then there is even MORE misinformation....
I am about to go there myself and see for myself which black hole was it
đ , but I might not see anyone I used to know when I get back
Oh that makes a lot of sense. If the training data contains misinformation, then that's what the model will output
Dude I soooo want to know what the inside of a black hole is like. They're so mysterious.
I know right, but it seems that they are the strongest thing in the Universe second to God.
I hate the physics around it, all of the physics I despise because we might not even ever be able to reach one in the history of mankind
The physics of getting to one (E=mc^2) and actually being around it (time dilation, spaghettification, and Hawking radiation) is just making it impossible
We probably won't get anywhere near a black hole, given how we're constrained by the speed of light
I not only want to know what the inside of a black hole looks like, but also where does it take us from there?
I know, but we wouldn't actually want to mess with a black hole, despite our curiosity
Absolutely! And the craziest part is that we have only reached 0.064% of the speed of light
Yep. It would take some pretty insane technological development (like the invention of a working warp drive) to go beyond even 1% light speed
I asked ChatGPT what it thinks the inside of a black hole is like
According to current scientific theories, the inside of a black hole is thought to be a region of spacetime where the laws of physics as we know them break down, and all matter is crushed to a point of infinite density called a singularity. At this point, the gravitational pull becomes so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape the black hole's event horizon.
As matter falls into the black hole, it is thought to become part of a rapidly spinning disc of gas and dust surrounding the singularity, called an accretion disc. This disc is thought to become incredibly hot and dense, generating powerful radiation and energy that can be detected by telescopes.
And can you imagine the testing requirements for that ??? Like the Beta phase ? Lord knows what that looks like. It could be like one of those things splitting an atom and a massive nuclear explosion occurs
a particle accelerator?
So basically if you go in there, you and your equipment turn into a dot ?
Possibly now Iâm even MORE curious to find out what the hell goes on in CERN
Well, you would be dead obviously, and the gravitational forces would break you apart into tiny pieces
Itâs also theorized that inside of a black hole there could be a worm hole that either takes you to another region of space (our Universe) or another Universe altogether part of the multiverse theory
As for the singularity, I guess your physical matter would become part of an indistinguishable blob of condensed matter
Right I get that but actually he turned into a singularity like the size of a grain of salt. Thatâs what Iâm confused about. Or does it gain in size and density and does it grow to the point that it gets out of the black hole the same way an abscess grows and peers out of oneâs skin
I wonder if it generates any type of energy since energy and matter cannot be fully destroyed
I'm not very convinced about the existence of wormholes, but the many worlds theory is pretty interesting and could very well be true. We might never know though
Well, the singularity is theorised to have "infinite density", meaning it wouldn't grow in size at all, regardless of how much matter it contains
Thatâs the sad and defeating thing about Astronomy. So many beautiful and interesting things like planets with two stars, gorgeous galactic structures like Andromeda, or Nebulas like the Pillars of Creation and there could be someone out there. But we might never see them close.
Oh yeah thatâs right, so this has been something Iâve always been confused about. If something is small with incredible gravitational pull, itâs more dense than larger objects?
I resigned myself to this disappointing reality a long time ago lol. But I enjoy learning what I can, and using my imagination to explore the universe
The greater the mass of something is, the more gravitational pull it has. It's actual physical size is mostly irrelevant. So if the singularity has "infinite density", it could theoretically be the size of a grain of sand, with the mass of a thousand suns.
I always thought mass was matter. I always thought if I was scrawny, a body builder would have more mass
Thatâs why I was always confused
Actually my mum was gifted a telescope recently. It's not that good, and we live in the middle of the city where there's lots of light pollution, so I haven't gotten much use out of it. But at the end of March, I'm visiting my sister up in Queensland where it's quite remote and I'm really looking forward to seeing the night sky properly again
Mass refers to the quantity of matter that's present in something
Whereas matter just refers to physical substance in general
Oh nice, I always wanted to get one, but the good ones are like watches. The better the watch, more expensive it is.
I don't know if I believe that something can have infinite density. That seems insane to me. It's so counter-intuitive. But some really smart physicists say it's a valid theory, so I defer to their judgement on it'
Oh I understand. So, this is going to be a stupid example. A pot pie would have more mass than a loaf of bread because the pot pie actually has more contents inside.
Yep, that's a fine example. Another example would be: A handful of lead has more mass than a handful of foam
Because lead is more dense than foam
This is why I can't wrap my mind around the idea that something could have infinite density. The current theories around the singularity at the centre of black holes doesn't seem plausible to me. But who am I to question the likes of Stephen Hawking
Well if you live in the city, you probably won't get much use out of it.
It's much cheaper to look at cool space photos on the internet
That makes sense, my parents actually live in a place like the one you mentioned. When I do get one, there is where I would be using it because it is super dark where they live in their backyard.
It's been a long time since I've seen the night sky in all its glory. Can't wait to see it again in a month's time
"all the mass of the black hole is concentrated in a single point, with zero volume"... I mean, this shit just makes no sense to me. I find it very hard to believe. I'd wager that the inside of a black hole is actually way different than what scientists currently theorise.
I hear you on that, it is so peaceful and wholesome to look up in the night sky and see so many stars and let your imagination run on it's own.
I understand now why it might be counterintuitive, because it has infinite mass and NO volume
IKR. It's a good thing that knowing what's inside a black hole doesn't have any practical relevance to us as humans
Btw, have you tried using any AI tools aside from ChatGPT?
I did try Reply Pal but it slowed down my browser speed because now it's working in excellent condition. And I have heard of others, but have not found the need to try them yet.
How about you?
I've messed around with BlueWillow (the image generator) a little, but I'm not that impressed and I don't have much practical use for it. I have a Chrome extension called Perplexity.AI which you can use on almost any website. You can give it commands like "summarise this page" and other things. I've only used it a little bit and I've found it quite useful
Oh yeah, I am going to try that last one for sure. Especially for those news articles that just drag on and don't provide you a summary like Investopedia.com
Yes, it's perfect for that sort of thing. I'm trying to find out some other useful applications for it.
Just like ChatGPT, you can ask it anything and it'll give you an answer
Meaning Investopedia.com does provide you a summary, but there are just articles out there that just hit you with an introductory wall of text and begin with the, "Imagine you're sitting in your front porch drinking a lemonade with your wife on a sunny day...." and I'm just like oh Lord just give me the answer....
Except it can pull current info from the web and it provides references in its answers
That is really cool, I am going to try it
Haha too true. Sometimes you just need to know one fact or detail, and you have to sift through a whole word salad
LMAO, i like that I am going to use that: word salad
đ
đ
Oh and I've dabbled with Character.AI too. It's another large language model, but people can create different personas or "characters" to interact with.
What does this one do ?
Like you can talk to an AI psychologist, or Tony Stark, or Socrates, or whoever
Oh my Lord! I was taking an assessment in the Walgreens site and the site crashed and now I am looking for the assessment and it's gone as if "Oh you left the site so it's gone now, you only had one try"
Oh that is neat, I will try that one too
And it can help you perform certain types of tasks, like brainstorming, practicing a new language, planning a trip, making decisions, playing games, etc
đ That's no fair!
Not at all. Hopefully, they send me a new one at the next application I complete.
I will look into that one, but I would like to use the other one you mentioned.
Oh, and there is a ChatGPT plugin which apparently is not Open AI, that's the black square you see on the right side of my browser.
Oh yeah I see that. Whats the plugin called?
ChatGPT by Open AI
Ok, but to be fair, when I looked it up on Google the plugin said there isn't one
Lmao that's exactly why I asked. It didn't come up with anything when I searched for the plugin
Ty
Haha I see what you are referring to though
Here is the link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chatgpt-by-openai/nijlhkhkkhnhidoondiobjdgommomifm
There are quite a few AI powered writing and content generation plugins now. There's HyperWrite, Rytr, Luna, Arvin, and a bunch of others
I couldn't find it myself, yesterday I found it by accident looking for the Reply Pal extension
And those are basically the same thing as Reply Pal correct?
I will probably try any of those instead just to check it out and see how it affects performance because it is a neat plugin in case I have writer's block or if I am lazy or just need that extra magic đȘ
I'll try that one next then
Actually, I think Luna is similar to the ChatGPT extension
Arvin is probably the one to use for writing emails and such
Arvin is powered by ChatGPT. There's another similar tool called HyperWrite, which has great reviews and it says that it "uses similar AI to ChatGPT". May be worth a try
I see
I will check on the Arvin one also
I have a question, I am now seeing all these new AI language models, have they always been a thing or is ChatGPT the Tesla of AI language models?
Some language models have been around for years, but my understanding is that ChatGPT really raised the bar with the quality of its responses. Plus, OpenAI's association with Microsoft helped bring widespread attention to it.
ChatGPT seems to strike a good balance to accommodate a wide variety of different use cases
For example, I think Character.AI isn't as good for productivity compared to ChatGPT
So many new AI tools... so little time
I get it, it makes sense for sure.
And it's open source so does that mean anyone can just get their code and create their version of ChatGPT?
ChatGPT isn't open source. The OpenAI team spent 5-6 years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing their various GPT models.
They sell licenses for other companies to use their API
Oh, I thought that is what Elon Musk said that it was I am confused now
Nope. There's an open source alternative to ChatGPT called PaLM + RLHF. But it's not pre-trained. So you would have to develop your own web-scraper (which is extremely difficult) to compile the data needed to train it. Plus you would need a supercomputer to run it. And then it would take years to fine-tune it.
Interesting that you mention web-scraper because I really need to develop one for my business for lead generation and this is the only thing I have on it on where and how to start:
Yeah I learnt about web scraping about a week ago while learning about how ChatGPT was developed. I was curious about how OpenAI collected such massive amounts of raw data from the web. Here's what it said:
Basically, developing a web scraper is really frickin difficult. You may need to hire a software engineer.
Well yeah it does seem a lot more difficult than I originally anticipated. Question, when we log into the online website for ChatGPT are we using the 30 duration or would it be the first iteration released in 2019 with the least amount of parameters?
And can you believe as I was filling out applications for the pharmacy technician position at CVS I moved onto the assessments part, and after four days of being on without a problem, my $2000 computer just turned off by itself? I must be onto something big with all of these challenges and hiccups. Newtonâs third law.
The original ChatGPT model released in 2019 had 1.5 billion parameters. The current version (which we have free access to) has 20 billion parameters. It still pales in comparison to GPT-3, which has 175 billion parameters. But ChatGPT is faster and oftentimes more accurate when solving conversational tasks.
Believe it or not, you can actually use GPT-3 for free also! https://www.futuretools.io/tools/gpt-3-playground-openai
I recommend watching the video by Matt Wolfe on that page if you plan on using it.
Btw, this website (futuretools.io) is really really useful for finding the best AI tools for any application you can think of.
RIP! I hope you didn't lose all your progress
Thankfully my Lenovo Legion has crashed a total of ONE TIME in the 3 years that I've had it.
Oh so basically itâs different if it is recommended to watch a video. Alright, Iâll watch it later on today. That said, I did use it briefly (thank you for sending this to me because I wouldnât have known otherwise, I mean I see people mentioning it but I just thought it was some developer mode so I didnât think it was relevant, anyway) and I found this:
Iâll keep using ChatGPT until I watch the video and learn how to really use the ChatGPT -3.
According to ChatGPT, ChatGPT-3 has the most âhuman likeâ responses that itâs almost impossible to distinguish between an AI bot and an actual human. I wonder if colleges and universities can detect usage of the AI model.
Iâve read that a teacher caught a student using it but I didnât get to finish the article for the reasons mentioned previously đ
Yep, watching the video isn't a necessity, but GPT-3 has a different interface and there are some tricks to making the most out of it. You're quite welcome đ
The use of an AI language model can be detected using certain tools. But there's a certain prompt you can use to make ChatGPT's output indistinguishable from human-generated text
One super useful resource I discovered on futuretools.io is this: https://www.futuretools.io/tools/prompt-vibes
I wish I had ChatGPT while I was at university. Would have made life 10x easier
Oh damn thatâs crazy. But since this is relatively new, do you think the proctoring softwares and the Turn It Ins have had the chance to edit their code to detect that type of writing distinction?
I would have used AI to help me research and generate good ideas more quickly. I think it would have saved me a lot of time and made my studies less stressful.
Proctoring software hasn't caught up to LLMs. They can be tricked very easily and they often return false positives (which has led to many students being falsely accused of cheating). Just yesterday I was reading a Reddit post on r/ChatGPT from a Grade 12 student whose teacher used a proctoring software tool called GPTzero to analyse his paper, and it falsely detected parts of it as AI-generated. The Reddit post is titled "Accused of using AI on my high school social paper" if you want to read it.
I'm not sure what the future holds when it comes to students using LLMs to do their work for them. Maybe students will end up being monitored when they write their assignments, like with exams.
I've been lowkey interested in AI for years, but until I discovered ChatGPT, I struggled to see its usefulness for people like me. Now look at me! I'm learning about prompt engineering, SEO, machine learning... all sorts of nerdy shit haha.
How did you discover AI? And are you more optimistic or pessimistic about the ways it will be developed and used in the future?
Hey whatâs up Rogue, howâs it going? We havenât spoken in a while and I never checked back to see if you added anything so sorry about that.
Funny you say that, I was on TikTok today and found this video and itâs terrifying
Iâve been interested in tech for years, mostly (software) programming because I found it to be the most inexpensive option for developing SAAS businesses since youâll be doing the programming for free and implement your changes and ideas without having to pay or rely on a programmer. I figured AI will place a crucial role. Iâve been an avid fan of Tesla and everything they are doing with AI mostly the Teslas having AI incorporated into them making autonomous driving more useful, safe, and efficient. I would have never imagined that would be a thing, since I give very little power and thought to the impossible. Unless, the thing is impossible by the laws of physics, and even then I believe in extraterrestrial beings with the ability to defy the laws of physics with their current technology as we have seen in footage. Then there is the Tesla bot which would be an AI robot that would help you with manual tasks in the house and have the output and productivity of 10 people. My girlfriend is actually terrified of them but I want one some day. Anyway, my college was hosting a pitch competition where the 2 winners would be given a $1,000 reward and entry to an even bigger competition where start-ups would compete for almost $500,000. (I lost btw). But while I was doing the pitch deck, I was going to write the future CAGR for investing in my company and went to another Discord I am in based on the r/FinancialCareers subreddit and asked how to accurately calculate the CAGR and I wasnât getting it too much so someone suggested me to ask ChatGPT to teach and explain to me what a CAGR is, how is it calculated, and how does it work and without asking I looked up ChatGPT on Google and when I started using it I felt like I could walk on water.
How about you? How did you get into AI? And how did you find ChatGPT? I hope itâs not too late to get a response from you
