I'm using the assistants playground to try to build a bot that extracts information from a csv file for me. I'm uploading the CSV as a tool, into the code interpreter. Every time I ask for a result retrieval, the bot doesn't read the csv. I then have to explicitly ask it if it can read it. Once I do that, it creates a custom code_interpreter that looks like a python script. It's not until then that I can see my results.
Why is this, and how do I get it to read my csv every time?

This is an issue with long chats. I'm surprised it hasn't bren pointed out anywhere except some forums. The whole chat gets saved into browsed and is always fully loaded.

Do not use AI for numbers. It's bad and can misinterpret it. Analyzing further details needs data in a digital form. But even so, it can still mistake it (when doing analysis and mostly in case of getting a correct number, same goes for: calculate EBIT and these simple tasks). Use API for a more accurate and structured results (I haven't used it, but I heard it's way better.) However for translations and anything unrelated to numbers it's great.

I am from Spain and I don't know how it will go for the rest of the world but Sol's voice is my favorite voice and during the monthly voice plus test I have Sol's voice available as it is and it appears in the voice samples, but once finished, it stays as having Sol's voice but it has a totally different voice with an accent of someone speaking English trying to speak Spanish. I have tried it with several voices and they all have the same thing happening but with a different tone of voice. You might have some luck if you start a new conversation and this time be very direct about it processing and displaying results immediately. The first screenshot seems to be hinting at the idea that it is doing some work "behind the scenes". If those three steps it mentioned aren't actually displayed in the conversation, it didn't do them. That said, I also think you'll do a lot better using Excel with ChatGPT's instructions rather than hoping the language engine will also be a good mathematics engine.

Individual results may vary but being aware that chatgpt is a language generator more than anything else, it's important to be skeptical of any numbers it gives you. If it gave you its workings then you might use Wolfram|Alpha to confirm equations.

Recently. I would say since Monday the AI has been doing this to every response. I tell it something doesn't matter what it is and it either responds or leaves it open ended and it makes me have to retry for another response which is actually a full response.

Anyway, in the past, it was common to have to say to the model “continue” when an answer was abruptly interrupted. It is rare nowadays but still may happen.

2. AVM can't read media so if you put test / files in a chat you can’t start AVM after that point.
3. if you talk to AVM for a while and quit you can't always restart it so have to use standard voice mode.

I copy and pasted the chat into Facebook messenger by sending it to myself and I was able to view it on my phone after sending it from my computer. Double check to see if your memory is full also if a chat gets too long then it'll start giving up so to speak, if that starts to happen just ask it to summarize the chat in full detail across 4-5 separate responses each reaching max word limit, copy and paste what it sends you in a new chat and start again there

I use my Plus membership mostly for research using GPT-4o, which has been great when it comes to analysing PDF documents, however, the problem is that a lot of documents that I want to upload and want GPT to analyse are scanned documents - meaning they are pictures and do not contain textual information. They also contain numerical figures and tables in a different language.

Is there any way to chat with such documents? I've tried Google Notebook but it doesn't recognise scanned documents either.

I use Chrome and I am able to use the Mic with no issue, it works in other apps as well. Last day or two 4o seems to be less likely to follow instructions, as far as we can see. Prompts that used to work just fine 100% of the time since mid December just started misbehaving. The only thing I can point to is the model not following simple instructions on structured output where we are very clearly stating that it should never leave certain field empty .. but it does like 50% of the time (with temp of 0). Simplifying the prompt helped a bit but it is still not acceptable. We had to downgrade to 4o-mini to address the issues.

One thing that seems to make some difference in our tests is number of empty lines and leading / training spaces in prompts. We are using Jinja2 and its outputs are certainly not very clean if you want to keep the templates human-readable. When we added a function to remove all extra line breaks from final prompts fed to OpenAI, we saw difference in consistency of output and following instructions. I wonder if the LLM started putting more emphasis on \s tokens.

I can't access ChatGPT version 4 Omni (4o) anymore, even with my Plus paid subscription.

I’ve been a ChatGPT Plus subscriber for a while now. One of the main reasons I signed up for the paid plan was for access to the latest version called GPT-4 Omni (4o). It has advanced reasoning and more in-depth answers compared to earlier versions of GPT-4.

4o was great for the first few months of my paid subscription. But in the past month, I’ve been unable to access 4o at all. Instead the app automatically defaults to an earlier, less sophisticated model (such as GPT 4 Turbo). This even happens early in my cycle when I haven’t hit any usage limits. I double-checked, and my settings show GPT-4 Omni as my preference.

I contacted OpenAI support about this, and at the end of the chat, they said they’d escalate my issue to a higher level and send me an update by email. That was a couple of weeks ago… and I haven’t heard a thing. I suspect that their support team is unable to keep up with the increased number of subscribers for ChatGPT.

I just subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, and I’m experiencing an issue with the new Canvas feature. I can access the Canvas without any problems and select text within it. However, when I try to use the "Ask ChatGPT" option to modify or work with the selected text, this option appears disabled (grayed out). Hovering over it shows a prohibited symbol (a circle with a line through it). I cannot click on it, although other features like bold, italics, or headers work correctly.
I have already tried the following steps to resolve the issue:
Restarting the browser and the app.
Testing on different browsers (Chrome and Edge) and devices.
Clearing cache and cookies.
Using various texts, both long and short.
Disabling browser extensions.

Hi! I'm working on some python code with chatGPT. it's been working great for a couple days, but tonight it's acting weird. It suggests some changes to my code. I agree and ask it to apply the changes to the canvas.
It says that it has applied the changes, but it hasn't actually done anything.

I have a specific query to do with ChatGPT. I may have logged into my ChatGPT account on a friend’s MacBook in mid-October using google chrome (can’t remember if I definitely did or not).

I’m wondering whether the account would have automatically logged off after a period of inactivity after a period of time, like a couple of weeks or months? I know that my friend who owns the laptop is not a fan of ChatGPT and likely never uses it. However I would feel more reassured if I knew my past conversations were not accessible just in case she did think about using the website.

To be safe, I deleted the account and all previous conversations last week. However I’m slightly paranoid that during the period between October and January she may have been able to access my past conversations which contained very sensitive information that I would be horrified if anyone read.

I should mention that I’d been using that account quite regularly on my iphone during that period, but I’m thinking that shouldn’t affect whether I would stay logged in on her laptop? If anyone has any knowledge of how the timeframe for session expiry/auto-logout for ChatGPT works, I would be extremely grateful!

Answering from my own experience: every other week I'm required to log back in (i.e. I'm forced to provide my credentials again). It would still be possible that your friend had access to the chats you wanted to keep confidential.
