Yes, that happened to me too. That means that when you started this chat you were using a different set of customization. You must have updated your instructions at some time. In order to update to the latest version, you must log out of the app and log back in. That will refresh everything and bring you to the updated configuration. I have had an issue with gpt4 for weeks now. The issue is that it generates a partial answer and then displays an error saying something about Network error. Please check connection.
This happens on all different browsers, also on mobile hotspot, have tried temporarily shutting off vpn, have tried clearing cookies and cache, although keep in mind, this also happens in the browser on my phone. I have tried getting help from the support team but have to wait like 30 mins + for every response, and they seem to switch people every now and then so basically it doesnt lead anywhere. Forget the Python script for a moment. Have you used something like Postman to send HTTP requests? This could help you understand how to pass the API key via header.
If you are new to this, having to learn multiple things at the same time can be frustrating.

I ended up figuring out what it was - about 10 minutes ago - I was not selecting the correct python interpreter after I made some changes!

Created a github repository and now am proceeding to make incremental changes.

The other part I am happy with was being more explicit in my direction. Requesting more in depth comments within the code structure so I can better understand what is happening.

Can i train my own ai or fine-tune it for this case like i will give it 1000 images and 1000 captions, 1000 relevant image pairs and captions of them. Also i need to optimize it, i dont have a massive gpu but for an instance i kinda will send request like 9 or 10 in a minute or maybe if i fine-tune it well, 9 images in 1 request idk (gpt-4o can do it)?

What i ask you is how can i find the right models for those needs and how can i fine-tune them accordingly. Of course i dont want a spoon-feeding answer so dont angry at me. I will be pleased if you just guide me the steps and sources like a map. First you need to learn these then you need to do these.

I am really new to this and I understand I am really asking a lot of ChatGPT. But over the past few days I have made a few attempts at using ChatGPT to make an entire program for me. I have tried using existing GPT's and making my own. I've run into a few problems, mainly being that at a certain point we end up going in a circle of features and fixes. We add or fix something new and break or remove something we have already added or fixed. Mind you, I cannot code, the GPT is doing all of the coding. I just provide it with requests and logs and it does all of the work, I know asking a lot. But I see that I can add an action ( see image ) and I am wondering if there is any way to use this to add a github repository that I will keep updated with the most recent working version of the code and possibly keep the GPT from taking out existing, working features or breaking previous fixes. So the GPT can access this repository and see what we are working from. I am probably not understanding this at all, and definitely outside of my wheelhouse. Okay, so chatgpt has a memory limit that's pretty low. What I'm looking to do is to create a range of answers that chatgpt can reference from that doesn't use tokens. Like I have a series of questions I want chat to answer when I ask for a character profile. One of those questions to answer is, say, "hair style." I only want chat to pick from the 100 preapproved hair styles I've previously come up with, to best match the character. Without using up chat's limited memory, and so I don't have to continuously input those 100 hair styles, how can I consistently have him reference this, and output this? Could I make an external website that lists it and direct him to go there for that field? Sorry I am really really not tech savvy, I'm trying to learn

Hey Folks - interesting issue that just popped up for me today.

Anyone having issues logging into chatgpt on their laptop?

chatgpt.com or chat.openai.com both hang on chrome and firefox without loading. I deleted cookies and history and I am able to get into the log in screen but it hangs when I click "login using Google".

www.chatgpt.com opens for me after I delete browsing history (including cookies) .................. But it only works the first time I go to chatgpt.com after deleting browsing history.

If, for example, I close the browser, reopen, and then go to www.chatgpt.com, the website doesn't load.

The other odd thing is that if I attempt to log in using my google account after chatgpt.com opens, the page doesn't open.

But if I log in using my microsoft account after chatgpt.com opens, the page opens fine (I am logged in using my microsoft account) and the page continues to load (with me logged into chatgpt.com using my microsoft account) as normal.

Let me know if anybody else can replicate this behavior on their laptop.

1. Practically every time I fight with automatic scrolling when the application answers longer text. Fix: cancel autoscroll when I scroll up just one pixel - or button.

2. After years of typing on the keyboard, I would like to move into voice instructions. That's why I welcome the "Voice Mode" option. But what I hate is the overlay that overlays the transcription into text. I understand that some people may like it, but please provide a UI button to turn it off. Absolutely unusable for programmers, annoying like that.

3. I see error message: "Your most recent request failed. Please try again" really too often, every day. Fix: just repeat the request automatically 3 times and don't make me click the button manually, jeez. This is really making me mad.

Hi guys. ChatGPT 4o helped me find LOTS of stuff online just yesterday, then started to claim "I can't browse the internet" in the same session a day after. I'm a paid subscriber, why is this happening? Is it because I told it about my "interesting experiences"? 😄 It became really cold with me after that. I have never been able to get it to find information for me on the internet, it just makes things up, even when I point it to a specific website. Usually it goes like this: I ask "Find me information X and show me sources for where you got it". It then replies "OK, here is X" (without any sources), then I ask "Please show me the sources for what you just posted", then it posts links to pages that have nothing to do with what it typed, then I ask it "Those pages you linked to have nothing to do with the claims you made", then it links to another couple of web pages which again have nothing to do with the claim it made, then it'll repeat this a few times, then finally it'll say something along the lines of "Oh I just made the initial claim up because it seemed reasonable."

A thing to keep in mind is that it might never have been working well, it might have just seemed like it was. It will pull information from the internet without saying that it is when you ask it to get information from an uploaded document, and it will also just flat out make things up while saying it is pulling it from documents. If it coincidentally happens to pull correct information from the internet that matches information in a document (when you are asking it to get a specific rule from a TTRPG rulebook for example) it might seem like it is working but it is not actually working. That is why it completely falls apart when you try to get it to look through an original document or a document that is not widely circulated, because there's nothing to pull from the internet and its hallucinations are obviously not correct.

That's probably what has happened. I thought when it showed the Analyzing Document text that it was actively digesting whatever was uploaded and then using its contextual understanding skills to parse the data as directed by the prompt. Thought it was much more together than that.

I was able to find Notebook LM which uses Gemini 1.5, and so far that's been doing about what I desired. Took the 675kb txt file and is accurately generating chapter summaries with linked citations.

You can no longer start voice chats (at least in the iphone app) without it dying because it forces "advanced" voice with no way to switch to standard. This not only stops you from having a voice chat on any previously standard thread but it also prevents you from pasting something into the chat first and then starting voice chat. This may not apply, but if you start to reach the limit of a single chat thread it starts throwing up unrelated errors. It will also periodically stop saving responses. It seems strange to me that ChatGPT is so popular and this discord server is so thin with responses. I understand this is not an official server but I think it speaks to the actual userbase of this product an that it is likely used as one-off requests. The unreal, blender and midjourney discords are much more active.

I recently purchased the premium version of ChatGPT and have been loving it since the minute I got it. I've set up some pretty awesome chats however I ran into an issue recently.

I provide the chat with an excel document that has about 30 rows of data and only 4 different columns. The chat then suggests different information to optimize those rows. Last night the chat was able to read the excel files and function normally. I have changed nothing and now it continues say

"It seems there is still an issue accessing the file"

Does anyone know a solution to this issue? I have changed nothing with my file formatting, document type, complexity, etc.

Seems like chats that are open for longer period of times begin to cause more errors after re-running a reoccuring task. I switched it over to just reading text instead of the excel file because my data was so simple. Was excited about the premium feature of file recognition but sad that it seems to not be consistent.

A few days ago when I opened the ChatGPT app, I was presented with the "Network configuration issue" message error. I restarted the app mutliple times, then I uninstalled the app and restarted my device. (I know it could be methods of network attacks, but here I'm just assuming it's a simple error that'll fix itself once I restart my device and reinstall the app) After reinstalling and trying to log in, I'm stuck on this new error message saying "Something went wrong. Please restart the app and try again." I've tried redoing all the steps I've done before, but I still keep getting this error. Could someone help? It's already been 6 days.

Press F12 to open developer tools. n there you have the ability to select particular elements on the page and see what they are. But this depends a lot on your existing knowledge of how websites work - you might have better luck just doing the old "clear cache" and seeing if that helps, and also check your browser addins.

I use chatgpt on a pinned tab in safari on my iPad. I used to stay logged in essentially forever though I've gone through periodic times when it would begin logging me out frequently, but for the past week or so it logs me out within minutes of last using it. ChatGPT has been doing this thing where it's filing the same memory over and over.

So, it’s been doing this for a few weeks. I think it is actually (maybe) remembering new and different stuff, but under memory, every new memory is listed as one of the existing memories over and over again. It’s the same when I look on the website or the app on my iPad.

No pencil icon appears next to messages which contain an attachment. Specifically those types of messages; it exists for others.

What that did was destroy the session after it. I then used the back arrow as before, and it seems to have restored the output.

I scrolled up and my inputs which had attachments just show empty grey boxes (dark mode) so they seem to be gone!

Since a couple of days, I have had a little issue with the app. When I want to take a screenshot of a chat in the app, it automatically goes to a 'share link to the chat' screen. I think this might have started occuring when I used the share link to a chat option for the first time (couple of days ago). It's annoying though, because I often make a long screenshot (I screenshot and then swipe down to include a longer part of the chat).

I already deleted cache, reinstalled the app, and looked at the settings, but I found no solution.

I’ve been having a frustrating issue with the ChatGPT app on my iPhone 11 running iOS 18.0. Whenever I use the app, recent chats don’t show up properly. 1. How far back does ChatGPT retain in a given conversation?: I haven't found specific information or clear info in Open AI channels or redit, but based on my 2 months experience as a premium user, it depends hahaha... between chats or threads, like the 30%, mainly your personalization-promt and the memory in storage. In a same chat or thread, it depends on how much cronological time has passed since your last interaction. It shouldn't be like that, but it's what's been happening to me. But there is no certainty at all. For instance, I have a conversation at 3pm and then I come back at 8pm, the chances of your chatbot to remember specifics of your last interaction, are more, than 24 hours later. What can help you is to bring back some hints or key information so it can bring back some of those details.
2. How is retention affected if I come back to the conversation after weeks/months? Refresh browser? Log out and log back in? The likelihood of your chatbot remembering a past conversation after weeks or months is low. If, for me, after 24 hours it’s already a process to bring back past conversations and topics, I wouldn't expect strong retention.
   However, as I mentioned, everything I shared is based on my own experience and the conversations I have had with my chatbot

Everytime I go to edit something, everything messes up and goes to a 1/2 or a 1/6. Don't know why considering it didn't Originally do that when I used to edit a passage I posted.

I have prompted it with some of my course content to aid me in creating a study guide, however after about 50 prompts every time I try to prompt it I receive the message - "Something went wrong. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com."

Prior to receiving this error, I was given a different message "You have reached the limit, you will be using a different model" (similar to that)

I just got a notification that the memory feature in ChatGPT is full. To fix this I tried starting a new chat and used this prompt:

your memory of me is full. I'm going to clean it up by first asking you to dump it in this chat, then summarize it, then I'll clear your memory then I'll ask you to commit the summary to memory so first dump the memory to chat please

It actually worked really well, I managed to free up memory while keeping all the important stuff I wanted to hold onto.. I use ChatGPT a lot for my personal development, and I feel like it’s built a pretty clear picture of my personality over time.

Hi, I am having a problem since about 1 week. When I receive an answer and I select to "read it loud" I always get error. Can't read message anymore. I use the android app on xiaomi 13 ultra. Latest updates. Not rooted. No VPN. Tried to uninstall and reinstall. Cleaned cache. Nothing works. Actually it only reads messages that are max 1 or 2 lines long. Anything longer than that gives error. I am on PLUS. I use 4o.

Actually on the browser it works fine.
