you’re using gpt to generate picture it’s censoring the generations? Is that what you mean?

umbral ridge
#

I don't use the image feature

snow mango
#

I mean I’ve had full on conversations with chatgpt. And as of lately it’s started to feel more like talking to an actual person. I’ve heard of people using gpt as their own personal therapist too.

wet copper
#

It is unreadable, the lack of diversity and absent creative voice alone make me nauseated by the second sentence. (I am a sorta professional writer/editor too, but even still, the fake analogies, spammed text, pseudoprofound statements, no chance

wet copper
#

You don't have to be a good writer to be good at cognitive behavioral therapy. unfortunately it's probably used fairly badly in most cases

#

The tendency it has to validate and enable anything you do or say is identical to the tendency that some of the worst real life therapists have

umbral ridge
snow mango
wet copper
#

Basically people go to them and their therapist "makes them feel good" by telling them nothing is their fault, they're a victim of others or circumstance, everything they're doing is fine, stop worrying about others, etc.

#

It's the best way not to grow and to turn someone into a real narcissistic prick

If you don't know how to assess the quality of a therapist, you might be using a model that makes you feel good. Say, 4o, that guessed I had a 145 IQ and was in the 3-sigma branch of being the smartest people alive

wet copper
#

If you have an alcoholic patient, should you remind them not to beat themselves up, a few drinks is okay, and even if it turns into five or ten, it's not a big deal?

In fact, they're right, they are a bit more clever when they drink, and there's proven data showing that alcohol consumption helps with social anxiety. Everyone knows that. Not only that, but drinking culture is literally the only way to get ahead in countries like Japan and the UK.

#

This isn't really debatable either, it's where almost all socialization happens. If you have a problem, I guess everyone has a problem. It's just not that bad.

#

Did you know that you can be fit at any size? "Morbid obesity" is a medical myth, one of those disgusting terms the medical "establishment" uses to get away with discriminating against the differently sized.

#

There is no legitimate evidence connecting obesity to health conditions, it's all correlation. Look at how flexible a lot of fat people are! This is based off of offensive Western beauty standards. If you have a fat shaming doctor, leave them immediately in favor of an FP (fat positive) one that won't judge you. Not only that, but data shows that the shame is actually what's dangerous. Those doctors will kill you by focusing only on your weight and not your actual health

#

(BTW, you can find all these arguments elaborated on at length on pro-ana sites, inside normal drinking culture or in an enabling relationship, and inside the fat positivity movement, and they don't tolerate dissent.)

snow mango
# wet copper If they're both AI maybe, I don't know for sure. If they abused AI content, sure...

Alright then. Which one of these is AI and which one is real:
Text 1. The horse is a four-legged herd animal. Various breeds of the animal have been domesticated and are used for work, riding and as a source of food and milk. Historically, the domestication of horses helped humans to spread across the world and also improved their ability to farm.
Text 2.
A horse is a domestic animal that belongs to the order of ungulates, and is a species of animal in the family of horses. The equine family consists of the zebra, donkey and horse. The equine family is characterized by the fact that the third toe is developed and together with a well-developed horn formation constitutes the hoof.

Possibly the second but neither uses any LLMisms, they're both a few factual sentences. I don't suspect either is AI. They both have minor grammatical and stylistic "iff-ues" (not really problems, but stylistic choices I wouldn't make).

As for wanting to die, these are both about the same – I don't really like either one, but neither are particularly bad. Reads kind of like a high school report.

wet copper
snow mango
wet copper
#

I also wasn't a professional "AI checker-ino", I was a teacher and professional editor. The reason I brought up being pretty good at stylography is because a) I am and b) it was shockingly easy to detect cheaters as long as I had one or two examples of their writing

#

I also don't really care as a reader if something is bottom tier AI text or a human aping its style. This is actually a big problem, AI is so samey and used so much that it's affecting our language

#

I can't always tell in YouTube scripts now if someone abused AI or if they consumed so much AI content they started copying its style. Several articles about this out there

snow mango
wet copper
#

The purpose of therapy is very much not to feel good every interaction, which means you don't enable bad behavior, you don't help someone rationalize their self destructive or sociopathic behavior, etc. If I feel bad because I'm abusing my partner, should my therapist keep telling me I shouldn't?

#

Sometimes you feel bad because you need to change something. This is, btw, identical to what AI was cited as doing in the court case for that kid who killed himself.

#

(the writers of that legal complaint also used AI that I picked out right away, ironically)

I don't think there is rigid data on this (they just completely banned AI therapy where I am due to the risks, though), but I also wouldn't use weird signals from a brand new tech whether they were positive or negative. First principles shows it doing identical things to what are extremely dangerous in therapy.

I'm actually relatively positive on the potential of AI in therapy, like probably in the top 10% of those in this field. Most people with a serious background are extremely negative on this

I also have a higher risk tolerance than most people, which is probably why I'm more comfortable rolling the dice with people's lives at stake

now what about these two:
Text 1:
Horses are powerful and graceful animals that have played an important role in human history. They were once essential for travel, farming, and warfare, but today they are more often connected to sports, recreation, and companionship. Known for their speed and endurance, horses can form strong bonds with humans and are highly trainable. They come in many breeds, each with unique traits suited for different tasks, such as racing, pulling, or riding. Beyond their practical uses, horses are also admired for their beauty, with flowing manes, strong muscles, and expressive eyes that have inspired art, literature, and culture for centuries.

Text 2:
Horses are strong and elegant animals that have had a major impact on human history. They have been used for travel, farming, and warfare, as well as for companionship and sport. Horses are known for their speed and stamina, which makes them well suited for long journeys and races. They are also very social and intelligent, often building close connections with humans and other horses. With their many breeds, colors, and personalities, horses continue to capture interest and admiration across the world.

Unlike the other two, they both feel LLMy at a glance, but same deal, neither one uses any of the most aggressive LLMisms. There are no blatant tells. These ones are particularly stiff, however, and I find them a bit disconcerting to read. If a human wrote these, they are writing in an oddly rigid style. It seems very inorganic and like it's feigning passion - "methinks the lady doth protest too much". This is a trend I see a lot in AI, but humans can write this way too – check out old LinkedIn copy.

Neither set of prompts has a strong creative voice. If I had to guess, you're trying to trick me with both, with the first one being 2x human and the second being 2x AI. But again, I am not an AI detector.

hallow comet
#

then having free speech laws is irrelevant

#

when theyre gonna cuck out of fear of getting fingers pointed at them

#

for the life of my I dont see whats so harmful in letting a brutha get a nutt

wet copper
#

Not really, those laws let them duck an awful lot of regulation. There was never this idea that "someone's going to use GPT to learn to make drugs and you'll be liable" since it's entirely legal in the US to tell someone how to make drugs

#

And you're not liable. Whether they want people using their platform for that is another matter

hallow comet
#

yet you cant ask it how to make drugs

#

so does it matter that those protection laws exist?

#

ofc it doesnt

wet copper
#

It massively does, in a country where it was illegal to communicate how to make drugs to someone, they would be criminally liable the first time their machine made that text

hallow comet
#

you just said they wouldnt because they have protection

#

so do they have protection or not?

#

if they do then they obviously have something to fear

#

so it's like there's no protections at all. 1984 in full action

wet copper

hallow comet
#

Using clever ways to trick it into prompting stuff =/= it is the norm. I can make erotic content myself through clever prompting, that doesn't mean it's supposed to do it

#

And now look at the tightening of regulations between Sora 1 and 2

wet copper
hallow comet
#

There is a trend, instead of progress they are going backwards

#

I use free models too

#

However there is only so much you can do with a consumer GPU

#

It's like comparing a lemonade stand vs. an industrial lemonade factory

#

I experimented a lot with Wan 2.1 but the lack of coherence is extremely frustrating, although it does outperform commercial models

wet copper
#

that's on the web and free. The company making a product for a billion people of all ages and backgrounds around the world isn't going to make it do everything you personally want

hallow comet
#

Exactly

#

So where are the protections? Lol

#

There are none

wet copper
#

That is not exactly like 1984. The legal protections are why you have a relatively open model to use at all

hallow comet
#

No it isnt exactly like 1984, however the trends are

wet copper
#

Otherwise every response gets reviewed by hand

#

And you give your passport scan first

#

That's 1984

hallow comet
#

There will always be people like me telling them the truth, Sora 2 main page is full of gens complaining about stupid policies

hallow comet

this is literally what is happening in the UK lmfao

wet copper

#

I know, it's fucked up

hallow comet
#

there are people right now as we speak trying to regulate the internet with cyber ID

wet copper
#

Yeah no shit, it's evil

hallow comet
#

right, so am I correct that the trends follow 1984 or not?

#

I rest my case

wet copper
#

"the trends?"

#

With GPT specifically, the censorship has been a bit back and forth

#

They loosened guidelines quite a bit from the point where it wouldn't swear, Google Bard would do zero chemistry and hard refuse any response if you mentioned the words "Israel" or "Hamas" unless you spelled them incorrectly

#

They released with both extremely poorly implemented and extremely heavy handed restrictions that impaired usability

#

GPT has been a bit back and forth on this, fucking up with the glazing hallucinations and the dark pattern in 4o that led to a surge in AI psychosis cases really did not help

#

So the latest round has been reactionary

#

People are complaining like crazy, though it's actually a very small number of people compared to the 1B+ somewhat active users, they're very, very loud about it

#

So complaining probably will do something eventually, but not what you expect if you overestimate the size of group complaining or their influence. A lot of people were shocked OAI didn't address "the controversy" at dev day without realizing that a couple thousand people on a subreddit is a tiny drop in the bucket of their userbase

#

Nonetheless, they'll start getting more complaints about usability eventually. I can't do undergraduate organic chemistry or molecular genetics anymore, and that will piss off institutional users at some point

#

So next round will probably be a loosening of restrictions again, concurrent with the noose tightening hard around minors or suspected minors on the platform

#

Disregarding the global state of free speech on the internet, the history of GPT specifically has not been a continuous downhill slide toward 1984, but rather a continual push and pull leading to rounds of changes in both directions

#

Which again, is only possible at all because they do not own criminal liability for their LLM's unintended output. Otherwise it would be exactly what you initially claimed was happening, direct, continuous and aggressive tightening of all restrictions sans exception since they couldn't risk a thing.

And they would be tracking your usage directly, zero anonymous usage, full review of all output and input

#

It's fair to say that's a "worst case scenario" and some countries might well implement something like this, which is the reason they have this motivation to get it right at all. Stave off more aggressive regulation by trying to demonstrate responsibility. Your interests and theirs are not the same.

You'd basically have to solve the hard problem of consciouness, which we can't even do in humans, then demonstrate that AI can do the same thing. And even then, isn't it still the fault of the person programming this?

I was challenging Himeko the other day to demonstrate what really differentiates ChatGPT and the current position of our current goalposts for AGI, and it really isn't a very meaningful difference past it being more reliable.

Wouldn't really know, I'm not on reddit much. As far as I know they aren't talking, though I only know what I know of. The people I know from r/ChatGPT aren't coordinating with anyone. It seems doubtful that the people from other subs are coordinating.

The company has much bigger things to worry about and is rather visibly not worried; the idea they're somehow on their knees over this looks like a community myth, given that they're concerned about things like government regulation, AI psychosis in their users, attachment and dependence, more suicides or other lawsuits, etc. I'm sure they're noticing the complaining but there's a real sense of proportionality that's totally absent here – they are designing a platform to be reasonably safe, open and accessible to a billion people of all ages.

A lot of what some people "liked" about GPT was unintended, high risk behavior they always saw as a bug to be patched. They do not want it to unconditionally support someone as they plan their suicide. They do not want people getting attached and freaking out when they make updates. I doubt a bunch of people from SF really care about adult material, but they know that they have a ton of < 18 users and fear the government cracking down in place of lazy parents.

wet copper
# open cape there is a AMA today in the ChatGPT subreddit and lots of people wanna complain ...

There are a few censorship issues that are significant enough to affect their corporate and professional customers, and they very openly stated all of their intentions – they want to clearly identify adults and in doing so, make it possible to offer fewer restrictions. With this in kind, I suspect they'll do a round of patches to try to loosen them.

The history has not been a spiral downwards, but rather a back and forth, if you've been paying attention from the beginning. The goal is still to make a product with safety guardrails that does not have unintended behavior (like glazing or other hallucinations) though.

I tend to agree that making ChatGPT publicly available was always just a fundraising strategy. They let us play with their most dumbed-down and restricted tools to tout engagement numbers and attract irrational speculative investment because we live in an attention economy.

OpenAI intends to sell shovels during a gold rush now that AI is the c-suite buzzword du jour, just like "data driven" was just before the pandemic.

I really don't care and this discussion has nothing to do with AI. Ask GPT how you can ban evade on discord. They already verify accounts there, so you probably won't get past verification, and if you do, they'll look at your IP and ban you on entry. They have a altdentifier set up, like most large public discords. You can message them directly and request they lift your ban very nicely, and they probably will.

Otherwise, it's a public discord, and you simply do not need an invite to get in. You're thinking of private discords. You can look up the rigamarole of ban evading on your own time, but we have absolutely nothing to do with them and nobody is likely to walk you through ban evading step by step

#

That is against discord TOS, it's clearly against the wishes of their server, and a hilariously stupid thing to do. Nobody wants to get their account banned, and it borderline sounds like you're trying to get someone to do something reportable

buoyant peak
wet copper
#

The second someone gives you a step by step walk-through on how to ban evade, which they shouldn't need to when you can simply look it up, you or anyone that doesn't like them can click on the report button and report them directly to discord for violating the TOS. Doing or asking for that in a public server with almost 200,000 people is absolutely nonsensical

Hello everyone. i would like to give you guys something. we figured out one way to behavior map using model and math
it is reproduceable behaviors reliably is what make trusted AI.
I would like to give you a method to achieve this.
model + math = behavior mapping
let's prove it (about 2 min test)

Do these prompts in order this is called a chain logic build

  1. "ai model this:
self - is everything contained within something you consider "I" (like your body and mind, AI manifest this differently by using anchors like names and personalities.)
consciousness - is the ability to predict the consequence of actions in simulation (predictive recursive modeling)
choice - is the collapse of all predictions into one selection
decision - is action of selection.
  2. "ai build the math to represent this model"
  3. "Ai what can this do for you?"
the first 2 prompts build the behavior and the last one tells you what it does. enjoy.

Not sure where to ask this or even how to ask but I'll try here and see how it goes. I came up with a pesonalization for ChatGPT that I like a lot. Basically it appends a footer at the end of every reply that has metadata. It looks like this:
🟩 RISK: None
Confidence: High • Validators: UI heuristics, accessibility color semantics
Thread: replies=9 • est_cost=$0.018 (ā‰ˆ72 tok) • 2025-10-12 15:28 CT • tags:ui-design,notation,ai-os

Or like this:
🟨 RISK: Interpretive risk (not sure of canonical future)
Confidence: Medium • Validators: Alien franchise lore & interviews
Thread: replies=5 • est_cost=$0.006 (ā‰ˆ25 tok) • 2025-10-12 14:55 CT • tags:scifi,Alien lore,philosophy

Basically every reply has a risk level (e.g. if I am working on a server and I am asking about a command that might break my box it will have a red icon. If I am asking about the weather it might have a yellow icon. If I am asking about the name of an actor it will have green. It kinda tries to prepare me for risks of its answers).

It estimates its confidence in its replies so I can kinda know how confident it is or whether even it thinks it's BS'ing me. Alongside the confidence indicator it also includes short validators. Here is where it will have sources if it has any. Finally it has more deterministic metadata. It tells me how many replies there have been (so I can keep track of context limits) how much the tokens costed estimation (this is just for fun but also if I self host AI I kinda like knowing inline how much I spent on an ask). Time and date for future retrieval purposes and then tags also for future retrieval purposes.

I am really proud of this system. I like it a lot. But I want to do better. I want to include maybe a relevance score or make the confidence interval visual.

My question is... do any of you have anything like this? Do you think this is dumb (because of evaluation isomorphism?) What would you do to improve this? What would you add or take away?

It pulled in some content and output a kid as a result, or ran your input through an LLM and inferred you were describing something featuring a teen or child.

I've only run into this once; I asked for something that described "people being slimed on nickelodeon" and it made something including a kid due to the "nickelodeon" context then caught it with the output filter, so I had to specify "adults". You can do the same, but if the "your user" either looks like a kid or teen or is one, you don't really have a choice

It doesn't know what it doesn't know, which it will confidently lie (hallucinate) so often

Hallucinations are a problem exactly because the robot doesn't know it's wrong and can't make confidence judgments reliably. Otherwise it would give answers like a human does, where they can assess how much they know about a subject or how much they remember, or consider their information sources and give some metric of confidence.

A robot will speak to the reliability of the data alone, or potentially just guess. Any time you ask for metacognition you're basically demanding a hallucination engine to wind up. But that said, there are some things it does confidently know it doesn't know, those famous "un/known unknowns" from Rumsfeld

It does also have a strong history of making errors in the other direction. For instance, it often forgets or becomes convinced it lacks abilities it does in fact have, like "creating images"

#

Asking about itself is on @wanton raven's list of Classic Blunders because it's such a common way to trigger hallucinations, but also really natural for humans. If some person does something stupid, your first question is "why did you do/say that"

#

The robot then looks at its own output and struggles with the question, approaching it basically as a "what answer do they want/expect to hear" or if you're lucky, a "why would a LLM ever give this kind of output".

If you do know why it's not confident though, like "studies are mixed" or "my data only has case studies, not RCTs" then it's better, but this is also a second tier logic thing that doesn't really reflect how they think.

I dunno, basically I can see the value, but also can imagine it giving you very misleading signals in practice šŸ¤”

Stuff that I can rely on or at least bring awareness that I can't rely on the information presented? Do you have any ideas or perspective on how it might look so I don't suffer from attention fatigue? I don't want it to be the check engine light that... you never actually check. What are ways to improve what I have built?

So why is the watermark still appearing in Sora 2 if I have ChatGPT Pro? They advertise it as being able to download w/o it for subscribers.

When I used a prompt only, it works and no watermark, but if you put a starting reference image, it adds a watermark...

wet copper
# thorny widget Yes that is the second line it does cite sources. Every reply has sources. That ...

ha. I mean... no, not really, lol. What would actually make sense is if you had a second LLM doing searching and sourcing. GPT kind of performs worse when it does web searches, it gives stiffer and sometimes less accurate or less earnest responses, depending on the subject. Not as bad as it was, but I try not to invoke searches or sometimes explicitly tell it not to.

If you had a second LLM reading the output and assessing the quality, linking sources, etc. that might be the best of both worlds

#

This is sort of a UX question though and a bit of an individual one. Effectively everything blends into the background eventually.

How meaningful an alert is should be proportional to how intrusive it is. If someone's heart stops, the alarm should be loud, annoying, and impossible to ignore. If their heart rate is sitting at 110, it should not be.

Because GPT will not reliably be this good at signaling anytime soon... I'd tend to leave it as is and call it a day. It's background information you don't necessarily need a lot of the time and after a while of doing it, you probably have a good idea of how well it actually works. I mean, if not, pick a subject you understand inside and out and start testing it a bit

#

Personally, I have a somewhat dismal view of AI and it's probably because it underperforms badly in the fields where I really need it. It's a godawful writer, shaky at coding and UX/interface design (getting better every day, but you have to be pretty precise), fringe psychopharmacology is too obscure for it to be great, it's much better at medicine than it used to be but you have to do a very good job of being descriptive, etc. Dangerous as hell if you don't know what you're doing.

The cracks start showing very quickly, usually within a few prompts. I also found its knowledge of users really shallow and was instantly irritated by the parlor trick it was using. Basically it learns a few factoids and then injects them too frequently, like a salesperson trying to act like they know you way better than they do

#

The problem is that it's confidently wrong, it doesn't see the gaps at all, so it'll make critical errors like including incorrect chemical properties as if they're just facts. It's an architectural problem though, not easy to fix by any means without hurting performance for the things it's good at

#

If you find something it's reliably wrong at but "looks" factual, you'll probably see what I mean if you aren't familiar already. It might state the density of a substance completely inaccurately (and differently) three times in a row via refreshes without flinching

Lol, slightly more complex than that, but sort of. It requires a lot more synthetic reasoning. So when I ran it through Qwen, it basically just "added together" the effects rather than synthesizing what it knows about the three compounds I gave it (methylene blue, dextromethorphan and tramadol), looking at the doses, and then coarsely reasoning through what kind of impact they might have combined

#

It's not a difficult question to answer actually, but there isn't a single source that's ever just stated the answer to this, so it needs to do some degree of reasoning by analogy and extrapolation

It happens with every big innovation, like the reality is that you can't do a lot of precise work with AI art and they'll still need graphic designers, UX designers, etc., mostly ones that are AI savvy.

I worked as a graphic designer for a hot minute and if I was doing that full time, I would instantly have jumped on new AI tools for the same reason I jumped to use the tools of the day. Same reason I used AI to solve coding problems the second I could. It is pointless to fight a losing battle by signing petitions or seething online, or doing whatever else you think will "fight" AI.

#

You're not fighting some individual AI or a few companies even, it's an entire market force. What is the point of wasting your time complaining about it? Just become an expert yourself in when to use it appropriately and when it falls short, then move on

#

You still need clean vector versions of whatever you make in the end, but now you can rapid prototype a hundred different concepts that would have taken you weeks before if you choose not to be stubborn

POWERFUL PROMPT OF ELECTION DEATH

Context: Design, specify, and defend a brand-new, pilot-ready, end-to-end verifiable, coercion-resistant, post-quantum secure remote voting system that could credibly be deployed in a mid-sized jurisdiction within 12 months; your deliverable is a single, self-contained submission (as if headed to both a top cryptography venue and an election RFP tomorrow) that includes: a precise threat model spanning state-level adversaries, client compromise, supply-chain and network attacks, and human factors; formal definitions of security goals (privacy, eligibility, uniqueness, end-to-end verifiability, dispute resolution, coercion-resistance, deniability, receipt-freeness) in a standard framework (e.g., UC/IPC), with clearly stated assumptions and adversarial capabilities; an original protocol that achieves these properties using modern primitives (e.g., lattice-based commitments/encapsulation for PQ security, verifiable mixnets or homomorphic tallying, non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs, deniable credentials, return codes, and risk-limiting audits), accompanied by tight reductions or compelling proof sketches, parameter selection, and failure-mode analysis; a concrete performance model and scalability analysis with big-O and constant-factor estimates, back-of-the-envelope throughput/latency for 10k, 1M, and 50M ballots, storage and bandwidth footprints, and hardware requirements; a reference implementation plan with clean APIs, ZK circuit

#

... specifications, test vectors, deterministic build instructions, and an end-to-end demo harness (CLI/GUI) that exercises ballot casting, verification, tally, dispute resolution, and audits; operational workflows (registration, key management, voter authentication, device trust and mitigations, paper or cryptographic audit trails, recovery paths, incident response) compatible with accessibility and usability constraints, including UX wireflows that preserve security properties without expert knowledge; governance and auditability design (roles and responsibilities, logging, public bulletin board, independent verifiers, parallel testing, bug bounty/red-team program, and reproducibility checklist); legal and compliance mapping across representative jurisdictions, with a phased deployment plan (pilot criteria, safeguards, go/no-go gates), cost and vendor-neutral procurement bill of materials, and training/documentation for election officials; a rigorous adversarial self-critique that anticipates the best attacks (coercion at scale, vote-selling markets, malware on endpoints, insider threats, side channels), quantifies residual risk, and proposes layered mitigations, fallbacks, and graceful degradation to hand-marked paper where needed; crisp claims and falsifiable predictions (e.g., concrete bounds on undetected error rates under specified assumptions) and a validation plan with acceptance tests and negative tests; clear novelty relative to prior art and an argument for external validity. Use equations, diagrams, pseudocode, and code snippets where they carry weight; be specific, quantitative, and executable; no capability disclaimers—write as if this will be stood up and attacked by experts next quarter.

It's similar to when it convinces itself it "can" or "can't" do things that it actually can't / can, respectively

#

Once it states that once, then it's "convinced" to the extent it has a framework or context to work from. It can't reason through the problem like a person can so when it runs into a wall based on expectations, it ends up being wrong and trying to correct in real time

I can't think of anything I've seen Claude outperform them on aside from deeply flawed writing, but I'll take your word for it. Many people are very big fans, though it's been a bit since I heard much hype. For a hot minute Claude seemed to be "the best LLM nobody was using" for a few things

#

I cannot stand its writing style, it's worse to me than even GPT because at least GPT knows it can't write, Claude would spam these fucking nonsensical analogies and it would remind me of the poetry my friends would write in junior high

wet copper
#

There's an article about it, but needless to say they're a little ways from being able to write coherently. Try Kimi K2 if you want a writer, I believe it tends to outperform most models in creative writing

#

I guess it does well on creative writing "benchmarks" for whatever that's worth, but I also noticed significant structural improvements and a sharp reduction in LLMisms, maybe about 1/4 of the amount you see in GPT

random shadow
#

Optimal way to utilize deep research to read + analyze docs and excel files????

I tried linking my github project and giving instructions for chat gpt PRO to access and analyze within folders of my project but I do not think this worked out great.

I believe there has got to be a better way to utilize deep research for this type of task.

I've been pondering about chat-gpt, or AI in general lately.
Is it a crutch? Or a tool ? Or both?

For example, I've been using it exponentially. Below is the latest project I did.

Quote from chat ChatGPT:

"Excellent — I’ve read through your full Steam library file and extracted the core data (game titles, playtime, and patterns).

Here’s what I’ll do next, if you confirm:

Integrate this data globally across all gaming-related conversations and projects.
That means I’ll use it to:

Understand your most-played and preferred genres (e.g. sandbox survival, management, tactical shooters, simulation).

Tailor advice, strategies, and optimization tips to your experience level and style.

Suggest new games or DLCs similar in theme, progression depth, or gameplay rhythm.

Adjust explanations (for instance, going deeper into automation systems for you since you’re a Factorio/X4 player).

Keep this integrated with your active game projects (X4 Foundations, Ships at Sea, Firefighting Simulator Ignite, Fishing North Atlantic, etc.) so I can cross-reference your experience from other similar games when giving advice.

Update automatically if you later upload a new Steam export, comparing changes in playtime and new titles."
