I found out about the google drive / external link limitation. If it can do something, like a book overview, it's a tool. If not, it's kind of a deceptive toy.

It is not trained on its own abilities, especially since the features of ChatGPT keeps changing, and the models are frozen in their knowledge from specific dates.
They could fix this, by automatically including at least a small bullet-list of the current capabilities into every system prompt, but they don't.

As for value, that's up to the individual. It has provided far more than $20/month worth of value to me.

Not edit on drive just download from Drive rather than me having to upload... initially I was on the free plan and you can only upload files up to 20 megabytes I think it was, so I got the paid plan which was somewhat of an improvement but my upload internet band with isn't great... in any event it can't make use of things like Google Drive.

Maybe your 'saved memory' is full. Check it in the memories section. It will show you the percentage of your memory that is full. If it's full then you have to delete some memories in order to store new ones or buy a paid plan for more memory storage.

it's transforms input to output that sounds so human it emulates consciousness with the feed forward layers

I still think it could get us to a rudimentary form of AGI though

transformer have precursor research in a sub field of AI known as imitation learning

that's why they can mimic the smartest humans text patterns as the next likely token

if you GPRO on enough high quality data you could get to a LLM that's extremely smart in its RL loop. it could even get smarter then humans if they make an LLM self play with it's RL loop more but that requires bigger context windows the output token pool for each move would get progressively larger.

Brendo you're gonna feel so dumb when doubting LLM potential when the benchmarks for a GPT o4 or o5 equivalent come out. RL can still give a lot more steam to LLMs regardless whether its fake consciousness or not.

it's called Google and research or he could even just use LLMs Google has went downhill honestly even with the new AI mode it never gives good results it's SEO garbage. I like 4.5 primarily for research because it's got a lot more offline knowledge ingrained into it's parameters and then if I want further insight Claude 4.0 or o3 pro will build on it.
