Yes, it can do that, but it is not as good as ChatGPT. Also, all of the new models and everything are first released on https://aistudio.google.com for free for all users. No need to pay for the Gemini Advanced subscription, you can check the models for yourself. The new Gemini 2.5 pro is very good and very better than any of the OpenAI's reasoning model in math and science, that is the important thing for me. It has better visual understanding and visual reasoning than o1. It can even watch hour length of videos. It is truly multimodal, and available to public.

I was mind blow when o1 started gaslighting me with Organic Chemistry, it couldn't even read the organic compounds properly from the image, let alone reason the properties of them. Gemini 2.5 pro not only understood the images clearly, but clearly demolished any comparison and questions. Even provided me with new way of thinking of problems. OpenAI's model still can reason through text based science and math questions but both Gemini and ChatGPT solved them soo yeah.

If you are free tier user, you might not have access to ther new native image gen, but rather still have access to dall e 3.

I had a chat session that was stuck 95% into an image generation. Delete that entire chat session and you'll be in business again. Hope it's not an important chat session.

My chatgpt just udpated to the new advanced voice mode. I have Sol as the voice, and now she sounds unrealistically chipper, with a higher-pitched fast-talking style that is pretty irritating. My first impression is that openai was trying to copy sesame's new voice bots, and they screwed it up. They need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Main reason I pay for Plus is I liked the advanced voice mode better than other company's voice mode, but this feels like a downgrade. Probably will cancel unless they make it sound more natural.
