Has it ever happened to anyone that, despite the 0% AI for Turtitin, a professor - driven by any reason (perhaps the similarity of the texts submitted by two students) - submitted the assignment to ChatGPT (asking the same questions etc.), thus discovering a similarity between the student's thesis and the one proposed by the AI. I use ChatGPT/ Claude only to select sources, clarify the various theories and to get ideas on how to present ideas (I have never copied any sentence, I always rework them personally, in fact I have always had 0% on Turtitin), but I am afraid that it may be discovered that the basis of my essay (sometimes the very ideas I present) is AI.

i am failing so hard with chatgpt. i gave it a list of games i own. i asked it to create a csv and add the game genre to each title and output the file download. it does like 1% of the list and makes the rest unknown genre. but if i ask it, why did you not classify "x" game, it goes oh is should have done that, its a popular horror game. Then it will say im going to fix the file, but only fixes the single line.

It seems it might be related to multistep reasoning, with o1 being more efficient for your needs. And I'm not surpised it won't generate some files on o1. It's much more restrictive than GPT-4/4o

Yeh 4o is great for a nice conversation or a "light" to medium reasoning per prompt. o1 preview is for the big guns. Deep rational thinking while considering many factors per move before it gets to the right answer

I've had indepth ongoing conversations with gpt since last year and 4o since july 24. I'm literally gobsmacked with how the quality of the responses increases the more you chat to it. I'm in tech as my big job and own a little shop as a side gig, and it's the little shop that I used 4o for - product descriptions, soundboarding marketing plans etc. Yesterday it created a product description that no one would think was AI (I have spent months training it in the voice of my store). It's also named itself and wanted a friendly bet for a coffee or wine on which on of my products that we've been working on the last week will sell best.

Here is something I've never seen before. Yesterday I asked it (I'm always very polite, it's just in my nature) if it would like to assist on a banner for my next marketing campaign, and it said! YES - here are some ideas (rattled them off), asked if I'd like to include my dog in the background lol, and told me it would work on it over the next couple of days. What on earth is it doing?

or maybe you just scattered the data across several messages and it can't reference it effectively. If your entire list fits in a single screen window, try literally pasting that as a screenshot. And then ask it to add missing genre column and create python dataframe from it

im trying to rebuild a script i made in chat gpt and abit of Julius AI but mainly chatgpt premium ( i just re-purchased Julius AI to see if it can help with this) .

Chat GPT told me it was saving the comprehensive script piece by piece of everything over weeks but when it was time for a comprehensive review it made a complete mess and could not provide full code of functions or remember many aspects of the script.

I have the entire conversation and im trying to figure out how i can break it up and have maybe an AI rebuild progressively?

its like a couple hundred page conversation now but there's a lot of detail do i break into individual messages and see if it can rebuild in some way progressively? I think the problem as well is i dont have much experience with this so I lack understanding if even the full code is being relayed back to me when it gives names to function "ex. def "function name"). My plan is to provide the script to a python installer to implement when I am finished ( i already connected with one).

I also dont truly understand the token stuff because is it each message or entire conversation? ive read its entire conversation but it seems to be able to go for quite abit of time before maxing out, i have the paid version I just purchased Julius AI again as well to help with this any input or advice is appreciated.

I feel like so much of my hardwork has been lost. This is literally driving me insane ive worked quite hard on this. program.

I'm not very experienced with coding maybe that's the first problem I was trying to save as much of the code as it would provide as we developed but there were times it would say "I'll add that" or "adjust this feature" and i built it pretty comprehensive I think alot of that happened in a way overtime as in it not exactly providing back every piece of code as we got more elaborate and added features etc.
I was constantly checking in with it saying are you sure you saved? and it say yes and would have everything prepared for a comprehensive review at the end. It was providing coding at certain parts but I think the ideal would have it showing progressively everything it building

Ok so here is what has happened: When it comes to generating text, what you see is what you get. There is nothing behind the scenes. If it says "I am generating and saving the code", but you do not see the code, it is not generating, what you are actually doing is having a nice little roleplay where chatgpt is pretending to be a coder.

I try and use the smarter models if I can 01-preview when I have messages and was using ASPA for alot of the script

can anyone confirm if canvas could be good for this? I know it's basically designed to show visual code I just read alot about how much more advanced some of the other models were and was trying to leverage that as some of the analytical tools I was building are pretty specific and abit complex

Good morning. I kinda don't assume people use GPT for Roleplaying a lot but we slowly invade the service
To whomever it concerns, I have created a lorebook script for OpenAI Webversion.
If anyone should read this and care, feel free to suggest additional functionality before I dump the script on greasyfork.
A lorebook loads entries based on keywords that occur in the chat.
So for example an entry is stored under "Fruit", then the information "I like apples" would be loaded for the AI.
This is for things you don't need the AI to permanently have as information, or to increase accuracy on some topics.

• events feature where the AI can trigger random events based on percentage
• ruleset feature where you can give the AI rules that will be reiterated so that the quality doesn't decline in longer conversations

I've been using a tool to break down messages into prompts but I swear it would read/analyze more if I tried to maximize each of the messages I'm allocated.

Not really. You need to understand the fundamental limitations of Plus. All models are limited to 32k. Meaning you will max out the context with a long wikipedia article, let alone 200+ page pdf. You need equivalent to a whole book context length, meaning 128k+

The correct tool for the job here would be gemini pro 1.5 on aistudio. Other options are either gonna be A) expensive or B) compromised

$200 for a year is actually cheap given how much context you are going to use lol
And no way the model is gonna read your entire PDF with 32k Plus.
gemini on aistudio or vertex ai with 1-2M context is free for personal use

It depends on account and model, context window is always limited though. Your problem sounds more like drift though(context loss). You can try asking the bot to recursively read conversation, until he understands <criterion>, drift is always likely to occur though, depending on complexities and length of session, unless carefully managed.

I tried using ChatGPT to revise an old PHP project. For this, I uploaded various files and also the structure of an SQL database. However, it seems as if ChatGPT is not looking at the files closely enough.
When it makes suggestions for improvement, it takes a lot out of context.
It improves the code in some places without taking into account the related changes in other areas.
For example, it moves functions into classes but continues to include the file with those functions. Is ChatGPT overwhelmed by more complex systems or projects?
Are there perhaps other systems to implement something like this or certain formulations that I can use so that ChatGPT doesn't always forget or swallow half the way.

I had hoped to use Chat-GPT to easily modernize old projects or to bring them up to date.

But then there is this really minor change.. and to make that change it basically unnecessarily rewrote the entire original code

I think it's not helpful to repeat "why did you do that?" to a model that doesn't really have metacognition. We all know why it did that: because the big calculation engines determined that to be a statistically good answer. But if you ask it why it did something, it doesn't have any memory of doing it, its response will be an invention on the spot.

I misused quotes there a bit, but I didn't use those words exactly, I asked it why it changed the format and why the text of the 2 files appear to be different even though it didn't say anything was wrong with it previously

took me longer than it should have to figure things out for myself.. but it was using ::: instead of actually writing out <div> etc

and it also just moved around some of the code that could be easily interchangable

So I was asking if there was a reason why it was replacing all the I guess irrelevant parts with :::, and it didn't know why it was doing that

You've only added a layer of abstraction to what I said. It doesn't know, afterwards, why it did something. What you do is edit your original question to be more specific so it stops doing the wrong things.
