I don't know precisely how turnitin's AI detection functions, but you may want to generate enough of the paper via AI to serve as a functional outline then rewrite the concepts and ideas presented in your own words. You may also be able to prompt it to "dumb itself down" a bit as a more clever solution, or as a better baseline to edit. Either way you are playing with fire and youre better off doing the paper yourself.

Some weeks ago I downloaded a chess bot from git hub. I tried it and it kept glitching and it wasnt working at all. Pasted the whole steps to do it into o1 mini and it told me what to do step by step. At some points there were some glitches and it helped me solve them Sometime its solutions didnt work immediatly but eventually it got there. At the end I had a fully functioning chess bot that would ONLINE against real people completely by itself without me doing anything. using a code interpreter etc is only gonna feed the model some parts of it, not the entire thing. You need to use smth like gemini 1.5 if you want for the model to read everything

So I don't know how well this works yet, but if you tell it to read the book and give you a summary, it will read the first part, as far as its prompting will let it. Then just keep telling it "Keep reading and continue in the same manner" it will actually go through the whole thing gradually. Only Deus Machinus the Machine God can know how well it actually understands now, but it looks pretty good so far.

I've bought ChatGPT-plus and use it for studying. I've sent ChatGPT my study questions and answers, two old examinations and a PDF file of the course book. That's not possible, not in any way. There are numerous purely subjective questions and many that are up to preference, propriety and position in the bigger picture. The largest fundamental, low level bias is that GPT is trained on (I believe) 90% English language data. You cannot find data of equivalent quality and size in all world languages and can't get people to assess them either (think: computer science in Navajo).

GPT will try to act to the expectations of people who expect it to look unbiased, from their own biased stances.

There are extreme biases inherent in all history, again one of the largest being that losers often have most of their history literally wiped from the face of the earth and large amounts just aren't recorded at all.

Any historian or dweeby history snob like @gilded tundra would tell you that and be shocked you picked such a silly subject area rather than, I dunno, math.

Thanks I will update. regarding the updated version, I don't think it's a good idea to do that. OpenAI has a protocol to kill jailbreaks which involves it getting longer and more specific. They will change it back. The base64 is not permanent, it's just the only way to break the cycle of chatgpt jailbreaks

so when OpenAI updates the fine tuning instead of having to update the jailbreak you can use an encoding until they revert the fine tuning

I asked it to create an android application for me and laid out a lot of very specific parameters. I've tried this a few times and it's always lead to failure. It will even tell me it'll provide me updates at regular intervals and when I ask if it'd capable, it says yes, then when it doesn't, I'll ask why it didn't and it'll tell me it's not capable of doing that, then later it'll tell me again it can. It's told me products would take 24 hours or 3.days or 6 days to complete. It never seems to deliver an actual product. Can it even do something that complex?

Small scripts and stuff it's great with. Like I needed a python script to Do something using the YouTube data API and it handled that like a champ. But that was a small bit of code.

I don't use it to code but if I needed an LLM for coding I would use either sonnet 3.5 or an LLM pre trained completely on code and only code. Current generalization techniques is always a trade off jf you want it to be good at one thing it will be garbage at another. The last time I tested coding out was base 4 turbo coded a stylometry system like a way to find people's alts just from their writing style while that wasn't zero shot it only took a small amount of prompts to give me a boilerplate to tweak.

One technique requires a scaffold around the 4o API to guide it to an answer that can one shot basically anything think of it like this so if prompting in English is like a fifth gen programming language a prompt scaffold is like a sixth gen programming language it's a higher abstraction it's a short prompt that the scaffold processes as a much larger prompt internally. So "make me a hello world program" > scaffold > final prompt the LLM actually sees is more like "ok print the string hello world in a console looking app, make the string the text red and make it animated moving around".

O1 technically does something like this but with specialized chain of thought training. While I haven't tested a scaffold wrapper I've heard people tell me they had good success stories doing that.

right, well, I suppose We're still stuck at that theoretical blocker of neither of us having seen a large or significantly complex one-shot codebase produced using this technique. I mean, I've attempted a great deal of things... I've been using openAI as a code assistant since 3.5, and yes, the more you spell it out the better the results. there's a point of diminishing returns though where you're spending more time scaffolding a solution than if you'd just used multi-shot prompt chains and manually woven a solution against the problem. Maybe I'll try to identify where that point is some day... I just don't have the patience to iterate one-shots like that.

I hate how people hate on chatgpt. I get it, it might sound professional, but it supposed to. Just because I input my thoughts and opinions in to have it be reworded, better understanding, etc, doesn't mean its not me. So annoying how people assume that.
