All right, well, I'm on my phone right now, so I'm going to just use a voice message and then the thing can transcribe it. But what I'm doing is you take, it's triplet loss, and you take an anchor sample of writing and then you have a positive and a negative sample. The positive sample is another piece of text written by the same author and the negative sample is a piece of text written by a different author. And the model has to learn to produce text embeddings that match the style. So it has to minimize the cosine similarity between the anchor and the negative sample and maximize the cosine similarity between the anchor and positive sample. And then I do hard sample mining, which is where I'm looking for samples that are about different topics but are written by the same people or alternatively, two samples about the same topic written by different people. So the goal is, and it's been working so far, albeit imperfectly, that it will be able to produce an embedding that represents your writing style. And so the downstream use of this is that you can use Gerpo to, like, let's say you have a writing sample from J.K. Rowling or whoever. It's really hard to Gerpo a model into writing exactly like J.K. Rowling. But what you can do is if you have the style embedding model, you can take a sample of her writing, get the style embedding, and then for every response that the model writes, the reward value is the cosine similarity between the style embedding for the model's output and the static base sample that you used at the beginning. So what I'm hoping to be able to do is universal style transfer. So you can train the model to write in any style you want just by using a pretty small handful of writing samples.

Yes, but the crazy thing is that when we compare it to PanGram, the fact that this works at like 97% accuracy or whatever for detecting AI text is completely incidental to what my training goal was, which is detecting AI text is almost like a subset of my greater training goal, which is to just do authorship attribution.
