You can call a normal book EdTech if you expand the definition enough (and speaking of, digital books tend to result in poorer outcomes)

Yeah, I'm very ambivalent about that kind of quizzing. On one hand, it's kind of nice - extremely low effort and easy to throw a ton at students to let them engage kind of actively. Using iClickers to do live quizzes too in college or earlier is one of those things that can work but usually is implemented poorly
I don't think multiple choice quizzes are good for learning on the whole
And should be the exception to the overall rule
When I helped teach first + second year calculus, the most important part of it past being in the classroom and helping live was grading homework, since the homework we did generally required a written explanation
I also really tried to push my kids to submit homework corrections, but very few of them took the easy points
I don't think many of them even read my detailed comments on where they could fix their work since it would have been trivial to resubmit with all the shit I wrote
Homework corrections aren't a thing in British schools as far as I know
