Compromise solution on a budget tends to be that you send the excess electricity to the grid (no battery), effectively selling it or storing it for a fee. Which still results in significantly lower cost even if there's not plenty of sun all the time.

But IMO battery is the way to go. Store your own electricity and then also have juice for intermittent power disruptions, even at night

That is an interesting note since I was assembling a database that required doing this, but I would still have needed Google for my narrow use case (since I was asking about their role in a field as well).

There are a number of major public databases describing corporations, like the corpo wiki.

And also, the narrower use case isn't obvious or clear from the site - no results preview. You can only get away with Google-like design on a landing page when people already know who you are

It doesn't have much of a description of what I'll get, other than enter webpage, get summary. And I don't know if it'll be cited or reliable either. Like what's the use case?

Usually, if you're trying to compete with people that can spend billions of dollars, you have to target an extremely narrow use case that they don't cater to well, and then do it better than anyone.

That would inject an popup dialogue or pop open a new tab with the data, and optionally add it to a running database for people doing research

I'm a process/automation specialist as a large part of my day job, so I'm frequently looking for any way to save time or clicks

I personally still wouldn't be the target audience unless it was completely bespoke and targeted to my use case, but one can imagine that people who frequently need to do this - b-school students, traders, etc. - might use it. I'll answer direct questions if you have any, the short answer is that process automation is about not wasting time applying the wrong fix or what just throwing what you happen to know at each specific case. As in it's usually about finding a real world problem, decomposing it into atomic steps (each click/press/human decision) and then eliminating as many as possible using any means necessary

And also about working around constraints in an aggressive way. So trying to remove as many as possible, then adapting technology to try to remove as much burden from the ones you can't change

They are really fixed in their bureaucracy though and several people pushed "but how do you know it's legitimate" as if I couldn't copy the President of Earth's name onto any document I wanted

We're already trusting the person sending it anyway. Also @late ingot i sweetened the deal by saying "absolutely any digital format". So they can copy-paste right from their database and send in an email body if they want, or just take the original template

Because yeah, I don't know for sure they all know how to render PDFs (though they should)

I try to give them something for everything I ask, and we already ask a lot from them. The one thing they want is notification emails and I can't do that because I can't access their database and don't definitively know who to notify
