#🔐 Incredibly Harmful Bug

I do not have the specifics of what occurred but I do know this:

  1. I was playing atomic picnic with OBS streaming

  2. The game crashed multiple times before causing my pc to crash twice

  3. CPU, GPU, and RAM in use never went above 70% at any point (never above 50% for the GPU)

  4. My computer now has a kernel security issue and constantly does a headless boot

  5. I now cannot launch any program without my GPU completely topping out and ceasing any output immediately

There is something wrong within the game’s code that has caused this issue and my device is now unusable.

I really enjoy that game and this is a really unfortunate thing to happen

I believe this is a genuine risk for players of the game

Tbh i'm breaking the game in many ways, even like 5x in an hour as i'm digging into it's coding and calls and never had issue like this. Maybe like a spike on cpu but that is most likely on my end.
If you are sure it's the reason of AP you can try take a look into Player.log and Player-prev.log or talk with a dev and send it to them. I believe it contains most of the info needed as of memory allocation at least what i saw in there.
You can find thoes files in \AppData\LocalLow\BitCake Studio\Atomic Picnic.
Sadly it's the only solution i can give you right now if you didn't get any yet.

Was it a lab test or the normal build of the game it happened in?

#

or does it happen in both

#

it happened in the playtest

kinda funny how in my 4 years of owning it this device has never once crashed until I ran the playtest

#

and now I can’t do pretty much anything without it crashing

You can try few things.
Update drivers (mainly check GPU ones or even re-install them) and bios.
Check your bios settings or roll them to default state.
It could be that your Processor core is getting stuck on some process and force-reboot your pc.
You can try to use tools like SystemRescue, boot from pendrive to perform ddrescue, Ntfs3g and/or Memtest.
