Firstly, their file upload somehow capped for Pro users which I noticed 24th January 2026.

Secondly, my student pro status is somehow gone today even though I have 9 months left and verified it using my school account.

Research limit queries should be 250/month according to the latest announcement, not 25. It's labs that is limited to 25 (which was renamed to 'create files and apps', primarily a workspace to create applications). Are you perhaps conflating those two, or do you see a 25 query limit for Research listed somewhere?

I actually noticed a difference in the Max Plan documentation last night. I was browsing the Plan documentation on my phone in bed yesterday and opened it on my computer today to read it more closely, but there was one thing I noticed that was obviously changed either because of the cache or because it was edited overnight even though it says it was edited last week. Hmm... that might be something to try emailing [e-mail] to clear up, screenshotting+linking the Revolut site that shows the term as perpetual, in case there are billing issues down the road. Some users suggested you could cancel the subscription and it'll continue for the term, and then you can get a new code from revolut when it's time to renew, but that sounds like it's prone to abuse b/c of people who resell codes... Revolut probably shouldn't be handing them out just because people say perplexity is asking to renew. But it's a possible path to limit issues on your end until there's clarification, I suppose.

This is actually what I did - first I messaged Revolut to see whether I haven't missed anything and it is a 1 year "trial" - was told no, it's as long as Metal is active. Then went to Perplexity via the chat - provided a screenshot of my account level (metal) and the chatbot came back that indeed my "trial" should be extended for 1 more year but insisted it's for 2 years, not perpetual as long as Metal is active. Then went back to Revolut and they still confirmed it's perpetual.

I would prefer not to use another code as that doesn't feel right. I just want to hear back from billing or account department in Perplexity and at least extend it until 27 as a resolution.

Yeah, these changes are pretty terrible. There’s no solid cap for Comet agentic queries, so you just randomly run out of those for the whole month. DR is now at 50 or something per month, and you never know which model counts as deep research.
