Ive said PPLX is in most cases useless, if i need agentic review on my side pplx wont help me, thats why i have gpt plus, also image output is for gpt image 1 better for my on GPT, and also GPT plus has access for gpt image 1.5 which pplx doesnt have yet, so i use pplx for writing prompts occasionaly searching up some info. And also GPT works currenlty better for me on CLI then claude mainly because of the usage limits i did not yet meet, also reason i said Claude is bad for me is because it feels for me like it lacks behind recently. Thats what i said, and ive said multiple times that ive expirienced the models to be generaly worse for my on pplx account so i dont see reason if i want to access opus to buy pplx for 200 monthly

Regarding perplexity, I would not use it primarily as a tool to access Pro models. They have been taking a lot of actions to make it harder as their primary intent is to be a search engine, not as a AI multi-tool. They've capped everyone to 300 per requests per week, meaning that after that you cannot use models like chatgbt and you are limited to sonar. Perplexity is great if you are the type of user it's intended for and it sucks if you are not.

It's designed for small search queries, not content generation and that's something that people really don't like when they give it information and they just give a summary when it's not what they were expecting because their model is designed for it to summarize and a lot of people have been turning off search and just using it to select other models and they've been doing things too discourage it

For a few weeks they would accidentally not remember your model choice and default back to sonar so you would select activity. Ask something great. Close the window come back later. Type in your search query and instead of chaggpt where it's supposed to be saved it goes back to sonar

Well as an example I get zip codes and routes for EDDM mailings. The dat usually comes as zip code-route. So I use it to consolidate the zip code and add the routes in a (route,route) after the zip. When I had hundreds of routes with dozens of zip codes doing in Perplexity saved me hours of manual work.

He's quirky. Facebook is way worse on the bots. There's not really a good alternative to X/Twitter you have Mastodon & Pleroma who are interesting but a pretty small platform compared to X. There's Blue sky and Threads which have the same issues. They also create an echo chamber compared to X which has views on both sides of most issues.
