Apparently the plan is to let user try out every single model, realise that only 1-2 is currently working, and then make that model unavailable as well when user actually chooses is. Effectively inifinite micro-management to get any model whatsoever that will be better than the "Pro", with a 10% success rate anyway because even if model was available for 1 query it will be unavailable for next query.

So many reviewers seem to be comparing Gemini Flash Thinking with GPT 5.2 Non-Thinking, citing the high Flash Thinking benchmarks. They don't seem to grasp it's not comparable. You have to compare GPT 5.2 Thinking if you want to do that, Google restricts Flash Thinking usage on their plans to the same limits as their Pro model, which is much more restrictive than GPT's. 🤦‍♂️

But the race is certainly not 'over', despite a lot of the reviews saying that now. It's much closer than they are implying. Nearly everyone is getting misled becasue the benchmarks of Flash Thinking are being cited as Flash.

Well, that's basically because people have reacted more positively when they release models that speak with "warmer" tones, models that glaze the user or that try to anthropomorphize concepts, to the point that when they took those aspects away, a huge chunk of the userbase threw a fit. And so, it's become the standard for OAI models

Never use any Ai platform without fine-tuning custom system instruction, I learned it the hard way
