I'm not sure how I feel about it, tbh. Yeah, sometimes you "can't tell the difference" and music is music. If you like it you like it. But I don't necessarily like the idea of using the style of a real artist as a prompt instruction to emulate them. That feels....slimy somehow. So I can see both sides. Difficult question. And similar ones come up all the time around AI in general.

So Perplexity (I have basic) can't detect notes or rhythms, create standard notation, guitar tabs, sheet music, nor retrieve key or arrangements from
Same for my Eden assistant which uses GPT, Claude, and Gemini.
I do know however, and remember it now (only because I hadn't used it in the past), some professional DAWs can do this (others might need a plug-in) for the music you create inside them.
Doesn't exactly answer the question's raised in the discussion earlier, but that's what I found out in some quick research
Perplexity does say:
Upload a text-based description or existing notation (e.g., a PDF or text chord sheet), then ask for explanations, rearrangements, or theory analysis
Paste in or describe chords/melodies manually, and ask for alternative voicings, fretboard positions, or style-specific arrangements.
Apparently, Suno won't create such material either

Interesting....I checked out Suno with their little demo song. I asked for a blues song about taking out the trash. It was only the intro and first few words of a lyric but it wasn't bad! I looked to see if it can transcribe to sheet music. It cannot. But there is another AI service that will called Klang.io. Didn't try it out so don't know how accurate it is.
