My workflow was Perplexity Pro Search (Not Deep Research) -> read study to verify outcome -> Write paper....

Now it's use Perplexity Deep Research (+ Claude Deep Research on Anthropic's website to fact check Perplexity for hallacuinations) -> find non-broken links for half of the studies it cites -> find out half of the broken link studies either a) don't exist b) are named something entirely different c) not written by the authors the AI attributed to them d) don't say what the AI claims they said e) or if they directly contradict the AI's conclusion -> scream -> write paper

It's not bad per-say, hallacinates less than Gemini 3.0 Pro, but I don't care for the prose it uses, and I find it hallacuinates citations/broken URLs more than Opus/Sonnet 4.5

From my experience trying to use it for work related stuff it's middle of the road, but sounds very AI'ish, where Claude models sound more like they were written by a human and have less hallucinated urls/citations

Like Gemini you really need to know how to prompt GPT-5 models.

Claude seems to have better intuition and need less specific prompting
