AFAIK, anyone who used a VPN or temporary email to create an account got banned. I know it's their referral program and they own it, so they have every right to change the policy. In my humble opinion, they should deny only the suspicious commissions instead of deactivating the entire account. The same thing happened in my case, I asked my friends to sign up, shared the link on my campus, and if anyone used a VPN, my entire account was deactivated. I wasn't responsible, but since the fraudulent referral came through my link, they have the right to do so. Also, I have emailed them regarding the same let's see 🙂

u must understand being " banned " and " deactivated " is 2 different thing, if you got an email saying ur account is deactivated which mean that the program is stopped in ur country/region and your pending money still being reviewed by them and will fully be paid once the verification is complete

"You've been banned from the Perplexity Partner Program for Fraudulent Activity.
All your links have been deactivated, and your pending commissions have been canceled. You cannot apply to the Perplexity Partner Program again."

I was running digital marketing campaigns, invested quite a bit of money to generate around 1700 leads... some of them created their accounts with "emails generator," and while I understand those can be considered null or non-payable, I don't see why they considered 100% of my leads fraudulent... the null ones are around 20% of the total... so they should still pay me for the other 80%, since those are REAL users who are using Comet all around the world.

However, instead of taking the trouble to verify which ones to pay me for and which not, Perplexity directly opted not to pay anything at all and to immediately remove me from the program.

I sent them about 5 emails, the moderators here didn't answer any PM, and frankly, I think at this point all I can do is post this statement so everyone here can read how this team likes to scam people.

I invested around $8,700 USD running those campaigns to have a pretty low profit (I think it was something between $9,500 and $10,000 USD, and it should be lower because of the "fraudulent" ones, and I agree those shouldn't be paid).

Anyway, thanks for nothing Perplexity, I’m going to contact lawyers to see what I can do so at least they stop scamming people. Regards.
