Perplexity [still] has some unique advantages. Although ChatGPT added properly cited web sources that export with markdown now, other services still don't do that as well as Perplexity does... which is how PPLX started and is still its main strength. I haven't gotten Grok or Claude to export markdown with citations at all.. it's just much more of a hassle to use in either of those. This, combined with the relatively limited deep research options from competitors (both in quality and in amount of use) makes PPLX a strong contender for research use cases, in my opinion.
