I'm from Belgium and I fell in love with perplexity pro as soon as i started using it (my telecom provider gave me a year of pro for free). Now I use it all the time, though I hope it gets integration into android on part with gemini ("hey perplexity" please!). I'm already convinced enough to keep it after my free year runs out, but it'll be even nicer if I can use it as my main assistant on my phone as well by then. 🙂

I have used ChatGPT (free) in the past with Kagi as a web browser, but then I switched to using Perplexity Pro on daily basis with Kagi for more general reference searches.
I'm blown away by its capabilities! There are no more fake answers, invalid URLs or strange calls to action. With Perplexity, I finally get answers that are backed up by sources, and there are no more hallucinations.
The ability to add PDFs and other documents is really cool.
Perplexity has completely changed the way I search for answers. I can now find solutions to complex and hard-to-understand problems that I come across online. I'm actually learning more than before, because I can engage in dialogue to gain a better understanding of things. In contrast, ChatGPT has started to provide increasingly strange and fake answers as the conversation and arguing progressed.

Could someone please help me understand:

Why aren’t the trained instructions carrying over to new chats in the same space?

Is there a recommended method or setting to ensure consistency in AI behavior across multiple chats?

Just wanted to shoot through a massive thanks for the work you do. I’m Gil Burri – you’ll find me online as @gilburri – and honestly, your platform is a daily staple for me. No joke, I reckon I use Perplexity more than I use my kettle (and that’s saying something for an Aussie).

Truth be told, I’d love to go Pro and support you properly, but I’m broke as hell at the moment (cost of living crisis, am I right?). Still, the free version is an absolute lifesaver. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate having access to such a powerful tool without having to fork out cash I just don’t have right now.

I was trained in behavioral neuroscience and I now research Psychopharmacology.

After testing the free version of perplexity a few times, I determined it was well worth throwing 20 bucks at it to try it for a month.

I think it would also help me with requests on the server I founded, psychopharmacology.

I've repeatedly been told it's a good tool for a researcher to have, and I'm excited about getting right back to it and testing it more!

Account Details:

Original subscription: Pro (1-year plan)

Accidentally selected: Max plan

Date of accidental change: july 3, 2025 ist(7am)

Issue Description:
While reviewing my current subscription plan, I accidentally clicked on the Max plan option, which immediately processed the upgrade and terminated my existing yearly Pro subscription. This was not intentional, and I would like to revert to my original Pro yearly plan.

Requested Resolution:
I kindly request one of the following solutions:

Restore my original Pro yearly subscription

Process a refund for the Max plan upgrade and reinstate my Pro plan

Apply a prorated credit for my remaining Pro subscription period

Supporting Information:
Based on standard subscription policies, when upgrading plans, customers typically receive prorated refunds for unused portions of existing plans. Additionally, many services allow subscription restoration before the end of the current billing cycle.

Hello to newcomers, those who came back to perplexity and everyone else! I've been here for more than a year already. Now I use ppxty for writing, quick questions and it's good when I need it to clean text articles.
If you're new I suggest you trying perplexity with 50% cost reduction and while at this use it for every possible task you can think of. I don't like how claude on ppxty handles coding but it's enough for my primary tasks.

The job I do today, as a Data Protection Officer for public entities only, is the result of my career path.

I started out as an accountant in my family's professional firm.

I experimented with the first accounting software for minicomputers.

It was 1980, and I learned the specific software programming for the system I used after studying the basics at university.

I also learned the principles of systems engineering and hardware by maintaining the system I used in the office and constantly expanding it with used parts, thus putting my passion for every manual task to good use.

In the late 1980s, I founded a software house that produced management software for personal computers and worked on the first personal computer networks.

I also sold IBM minicomputers on the used market, along with the management software I had written in the meantime.

At the same time, I continued to work in systems engineering.

In the mid-1990s, I founded a company that specialized in internet connectivity and website programming.

I left management software programming to focus solely on systems engineering and internet hosting services.

In 1998, I began my relationship with public entities, spurred by my commitment to public administration that had begun in those years.

In the early 2000s, I worked in web and social media marketing.

During this period, both my physical and psychological health declined (a typical case of work-related burnout), and the crisis continued until 2012, when I sold shares in my IT company to other professionals.

In the mid-2010s, I founded a new company with colleagues that focused solely on systems engineering for internet hosting services.

Up and down, I reached 2018 when a colleague pointed out to me that my experience qualified me as the ideal candidate for the role of DPO in public entities.

I obtained the ISO UNI 11697:2017 certification.

Success was immediate, with around a hundred small municipalities joining the professional services I've developed, offering a comprehensive range of services at prices appropriate to the context I know intimately.

I'm quickly retiring my previous businesses and handing them over to my partners.

Today, I've founded a joint venture that specializes in GDPR-compliant data processing impact assessments, again in the public sector, focusing on video surveillance and related processing.

I'm collaborating with some friends, both old and new, all professionals in software development, website design, and social media marketing, to establish an association of business consultants for new technologies, among which AI plays a central role.

The common thread throughout my career, about which I've provided some details, has been my curiosity and passion for the law on the one hand, and for technology and communication on the other.

The strong sense of duty and social passion I consistently express, both through active political activity from 1994 to 2015 and through founding a private school of which I am CEO, are the driving force behind my commitment to privacy protection in this context where individual rights are so severely challenged.

The turning point and intuition that drew me to AI is recalling the passion for computer science that led me out of the world of accounting 30 years ago.

I see AI today as a turning point for humanity far greater than the birth of personal computing and the internet.
