I am trying to build a castle. There is not really a build plan; I am just going with the flow and seeing where it takes me. I hope it will turn out nice. Does anyone have any tips to help me improve the build?

Well, I have started working on the basement dungeon area for the NPCs that I want to have nearby for crafting purposes. Eventually I would like to house the NPCs that I never use down here, while the more useful NPCs will get a proper room in the castle.

I'd say it'scoming along quite nicely. The only thing I might suggest is trying to break up the ceiling a little. Maybe add some wooden beams across the top. Helps to break up the look some, as well as add some additiona; realism. Looking forward to seeing more of it as it comes along.

Cheers!

I personally did not like the wood types I had available, so I tried metal instead. It does not look that bad, but I am still deciding. I am also going to raise the ceiling a bit.

do you have all the wood types yet? some are great. I love hidden doors, I wished there was 1 for each block type

For early stage game, I find shroud wood has a nice look for beams and pillars. It's a relatively easy one to get even early on.

That did come out quite nice. Now it's time to have some fun mixing and matching. By using differrent materials for the walls, floors, ceiling, columns, and beams, you can get a really stunning look.

Cheers!
