Okay and just to confirm, the game is freezing and crashing, or just momentarilly freezing up?

stone sandal
#

it freezes and windows ask me to end process or wait. I wait and it comes back, but i have died a few times during that process

bright parrot
#

okay, and you were able to complete all 4 steps in minidump?

stone sandal
#

yes

#

do you want the log from that?

bright parrot
#

okay give me a moment to go through your log file

stone sandal
#

ok

#

just happend again

#

my computer just bluescreened

#

i am back online now

bright parrot
#

Hmm... Bluescreen means that something else is going on. Were you able to catch what the BSOD said?

stone sandal
#

DPC Watchdog Violation

#

i am on at 3070ti laptop card too by the way

#

i a bit of the other chat

bright parrot
#

From what I am seeing here, the game is getting set to a lower priority due to your CPU being freed up for other tasks. this could potentially be also setting the game to use your intrgrated card, which isn't capable of handling the game.

stone sandal
#

how to turn off the integrated card?

bright parrot
#

you can disable the integrated card in device manager under "display adaptors" and right clicking on the Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

stone sandal
#

ok i did that, anything else I should try before opening the game again?

bright parrot
#

well the watchdog violation does seem to indicate that your system is getting overloaded. I would also go into your task manager's startup apps and disable anything that you aren't using to run the game or windows.

stone sandal
#

ok

bright parrot
#

Also keep the programs you are running outside the game to a minimum for a bit, so try and keep browsers and whatnot closed, even discord. see if it has any impact

stone sandal
#

ok ill try that and report back if it happens again. thank you!

bright parrot
stone sandal

I finally got a chance to test again today and it crashed on boot. this time i got minidump logs though.

#

@bright parrot

bright parrot
#

okay let me take a look

bright parrot
stone sandal
#

yes I did not install nvidia app or geforce experience

bright parrot
stone sandal
#

yes

#

v18.0.9.2

bright parrot
#

Okay - Just making sure. This log is stating that it lost connection with your GPU, possibly a driver crash, but since you already did DDU, let's go ahead and try reinstalling the Vulkan Runtime Installer and see if maybe vulkan itself is having issues.

You can download the runtime installer for windows on this webpage here: https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home

#

Once you install it, restart your computer and then try to run the game.

stone sandal
#

ok

rebooting

#

it crashed again without the dump file. I can run Ark on this no problem which also uses Vulkan

bright parrot
#

can you post the new log?

stone sandal
bright parrot
#

Okay now no timeout on the GPU. Interesting.
Are you using any sort of virus software other than windows defender?

stone sandal
#

no

bright parrot
# stone sandal no

Okay, can you go into Windows Settings > Privacy and Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat protection and then click on "Protection History" and check to see if it might have shown up in there?

stone sandal
#

ok

bright parrot
#

If you see it in there you can click on it and "allow on device."

stone sandal
#

the last this that showed up there is FillZilla from 6/17/2024

bright parrot
#

Okay. sorry consulting with another helper.

stone sandal
#

no wories, this is the only game that has an issue so far on my laptop. and my Asus Ally runs the game no problem, so i understand its a wierd case

bright parrot
stone sandal
#

alienware computers have killeraps installed on them.

#

it supposed to prioritize games

bright parrot
#

It's going lower for some reason.

#

have you had any more BSOD's or full system crashes?

stone sandal
#

no we fixed that

bright parrot
#

well... that's progress ๐Ÿ˜€

stone sandal
#

yeah

bright parrot
#

okay - sorry. also multitasking (badly)

stone sandal
#

no worries

bright parrot
#

I'm trying to think what we can try next, but honestly I am a bit stumped. Maybe GPU-Z can tell us more. If you go to https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-gpu-z/ you can download it. run it and go to the "sensors" tab and expand the window to show all the sensors, then try to start the game. After it crashes take a screenshot of it and toss it in here, hopefully that will tell us more.

stone sandal
#

ok

bright parrot
#

I have to head off to eat dinner but I'll be back a little bit later.

stone sandal
#

ok no problem

bright parrot
#

post what you find in here and i'll look at it when I get back

stone sandal
#

I dont know why but the games works when i have techPowerUp running in the background. So I am going to give that a try for a bit. It took a long time to load but never crashed. Here is the logs. I'll come back if it crashes again. I am going to bed for the night.
