#Nightnuker - Patches of shroud in terrain
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hi @coral eagle, sorry for the delayed response. I have seen a couple of people mention an issue like this.
One was before a patch that the devs put out late November that should have fixed that persona's particular issue, but they never did respond back to confirm.
The other one showed up in here a couple days later, and I went through some things to try to help them fix it, but they continued to have the issue and I had them report it from in the game.
All that being said... Symptoms can be similar for issues that have different causes, and the one I helped with last month had the shroud patches disappear when they walked close, and it appears that isn't the case in this picture.
So let's try and see if we can't figure out what is happening.
I see you are on a multiplayer game. Is the other player able to see the same thing you are seeing?
I'm playing with four players, and all other three have said no.
I can make it go away by interacting with the terrain, placing or breaking or an update of any kind.
Okay. Have you already verified your game files on steam?
I will do so now and after an amount of gameplay, report back.
The one fix I have tried already is having the newest driver for my graphics card as one of the other players had an issue because of that.
Okay - let me know if it is still there after the verification.
@dull torrent Pinging you because it took me a moment to get back into the game, it is still occuring.
No worries
Okay let's see if the toolfix can repair it. It does a few things that might help.
- Type
Powershellin your window's search bar - Right click on the "Windows Powershell" program that comes up and click "Run as Administrator"
- Type the following command in the window that pops up:
irm "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LiaNdrY/Enshrouded-Tool-Fix/main/Enshrouded_Tool_Fix.ps1" | iex - Restart your computer after it's complete.
is it common for that to... fail?..
I'll try to fix this myself if possible but I DID run the powershell in admin, unsure what went wrong.
it can sometimes be fussy. if the cache clears don't fix the issue, you can always do it manually after
alright I got it to run properly, vulkan was being held by the OVRservice.
I restarted and ran it to find the problem persists.
Interesting side note, I've been tracking a small area that's has persisted every restart
every time i join the world this patch is here, hasn't moved, size has changed a little bit
Can you do me a favor and log in and check if this issue persists with a different character?
okay. So not shaders, not a save corruption and probably not a bad install.
If you are willing to try, you can make sure it isn't a bad install by uninstalling the game, deleting steam's download cache and reinstalling. But I would also understand if you don't feel like going that far as well.
I found it in singleplayer too, you've been extremely helpful btw
my internet is fast so I'll gladly try a full reinstall
lol, same location after reinstalling
Okay... one last possibility
Are you using NVidia app or any other app to optimize your game settings?
Nope, I do have MSI afterburner just to have my fan turned up, but that has been both off and on in some of the screenshots I've sent
Okay, can you exit out of the game, go to ...Steam\steamapps\common\Enshrouded\ and rename enshrouded_local.json to... anything really. then restart the game and not change any of the display settings?
I have a small idea
well, question I guess
I saw some of the messages from one of the guys, he pointed out he had a sort of newer AMD card
I'm wondering if this is a problem only for AMD gpu users
sadly, it persists
It's certainly a possibility. I would try that rename real quick, though, before we start getting into rolling back drivers.
damn
see, I don't believe rolling drivers back will help us at all either, my card doesn't have support going very far back
I had to try something similar because I can't play modern minecraft
if I try to play 1.20 right now eventually rendering something causes an openGL crash, the fix people found was to go back a few versions
I simply cannot as the version that says "added support for RX 7600" is relatively new and past any of the recent feature additions or significant changes
Well, as far as I am aware, the issue only started around early November. Now, this could be because of something that was added into the game mssing with the driver, but it might also be something in the driver or a combination of both.
Do you think trying driver swapping could help write a more detailed bug report?
The more you do, the more it eliminates, but you certainly don't have to if you don't want to. ๐ I can understand not wanting to mess with it
I have no problem messing with all kinds of computerly stuff, I also just have three dudes basically waiting on me and I think they're getting bored
oh! Go play with your friends ๐คฃ
I also want to point out the latest driver is from october
I'm also gonna inform someone in their QA department that the issue is still happening. They will likely ask you for your save files and your enshrouded.log (Found in the steam game folder), if you want to put them in here.
which ones are save files?
Do you have cloud save on?
yes
..\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YourSteamID]\1203620\remote
YourSteamID is your unique Steam ID number
I would just zip up the whole contents of that folder and drop it in here.
the log file should be here: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Enshrouded\enshrouded.log
lol sure
