Quest Issue: Scientific Instruments

Hi @regal narwhal - the last time I came across an issue like this in a quest, it seemed to be related to the placement of the quest giver.

Are you placing the instruments in the same base, and relatively close to the Alchemist. If you are, you might want to take the alchemist to another base and attempt to put him and the quest object down next to each other to see if that works.

Please let me know, one way or another if this fixes the issue.

Aren't the scientific instruments used to craft the laboratory? Not be placed? (I could be completely wrong :D)

Finding it in my quest log proved problematic... but from the wiki:

"The Scientific Instruments were retrieved! They must be brought back to the Alchemist and crafted into a Laboratory to unlock more recipes and better healing."
So yes - the scientific instruments are not placed (for quest completion). They must be crafted into a laboratory and then placed.

Yes, that was the problem. In fact, I just stumbled upon it by accident because I had one of my 5167 instruments in my inventory and realized that I could craft the laboratory that way. So the bug was sitting in front of the computer 😄 Anyway, thank you for solving the mystery! In the unlikely event that someone else is that stupid, may the search help them with this thread.
