#Quest Issue: Assorted quests
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hi, @quick shard - If I understand your image correctly (and to clarify for this thread) - You are having difficulty in completing the quest "The Cosmetic Blacksmith Outfit?" And both steps are showing as completed, however the quest has not closed? Do I have this correct?
Correct. There are a few quests like this that I have completed and have the rewards for them but they continue to appear as incomplete
It leaves me confused as to what quests I have completed and what I still need to do
And this is happening even after the update from this morning and picking up the items again?
Yes. This screenshot is from this morning (post update) after repeating the quest again attempting to clear it from my quest log. It doesn’t show completed still.
Okay. Can you please make a list of the quests you are currently having this issue with in here, preferrably in text form, and could you please include a zipped copy of your save folder in here in case the devs need to look and see what might be going on?

The Cosmetic Blacksmith Outfit and Cooking Station for the Farmer
Where is it stuck on "Cooking Station for the Farmer?"
Reach the Capital...beginning of the quest line but I have the cooking station and it completed but then re appeared a day or two later as a new incomplete quest
Okay. Are you playing on a server/coop or in a solo game?
im hosting a game on my own pc, not a seperate server
Okay - the "missed embervale quests" section is for quests that weren't marked as complete in a multiplayer run-through (or for some people who have a save older than the feature they might also show up). It's possible if part of that quest were completed by another player, then it may not have registered for you and would show up in that list after it showed you completing a requirement for it. If you go through that quest it should complete it and go away permanently. If it doesn't, then let me know.
So if I complete a quest but my friend isnt online at that time (he also has the quest), it will not complete for me until he finishes it?
The other way around. if they complete a quest and you either miss part or all of it, it will show up down there.
So if they happened to pick up the kettle and you didn't, or pick up the quest and you didn't - that kind of thing.
If my friend no longer wants to play the game, can I kick him from my hosted game and these quests will be reset and show complete for me?
Not in that world save, no.
but you don't need them to complete the quests. and you can always turn that feature off if they are no longer playing
turn what feature off?
Personal quest progression. You can turn it off by clicking the words "missed embervale quests" there should be something in the text to the right that tells you how to turn it off. IIRC it's X while that window is up.
I did that this morning also as a test to see if these quests that I have completed would now show completed or just not be in my current quest line but they still show up as missed or incomplete. Does he need to log in and complete the quests that I have completed for them to show removed and in my completed quest log?
You would need to complete the quests. It's your progression it's showing.
but this is just for the farmer one. The other quest, I am guessing is above that?
Sorry for the late reply. I had my friend and I do a share screen on discord voice chat so he could see my quests and compare with what he had done. We beleive what is happening is he picked up the quests and I joined him on his quests but I never actually "picked up" that quest so while I was able to complete it and get the xp and rewards, I now have missed quests that I did with him that I need to actually start from the beginning and run thru them to complete them (if that makes sense). I was able to get the Cooking station for the Farmer completed and shows complete in my quest log. I'll let you know if it re appears as a new quest again.
Here’s my two cents and my opinion on developing the game for future play…
Right now it is set to be played as either single player OR co op. In co op mode/hosting mode, both or all players must pick up and run the quest together or other players in that hosted world may be able to collect the xp and rewards but will have to redo the entire quest once they actually progress enough in their own quest line to receive that quest and go thru it all over again.
My opinion for hosting mode, either have it set as a shared world to be played with friends but separate. Each does and has their own quests, completes their own quests and gets the rewards. Others can join and assist in boss fights and such but are unable to collect rewards from it until they themselves pick up that quest line for themselves. Other option is to set the shared world quest line as a “must have”, meaning I can’t join or assist on your quest unless I also have that quest to complete.
These are just my opinions I wanted to share. Thank you for helping me today 😊
Unfortunately I am just a player like you. For suggestions like this I would suggest searching on https://enshrouded.featureupvote.com/ to see if it has already been suggested, and if so upvote it. If it hasn't you can add a suggestion as well.
But to get back to the cosmetic blacksmith outfit quest. Is this also sitting in the missed embervale quests as well, or is this a quest above that is just not completing for you?
It is also sitting in the missed embervale quest line but I think we figured out why. My friend picked up the actual quest and I helped him complete it. He had found the prerequisite to it which was talking to Raul and I never did that. I need to go back and find Raul and speak to him before getting the outfit. We believe this is why it will not complete for me. Do you see and understand the frustration in this style of gameplay now. I’ll search and see if my suggestion has been mentioned and if not I’ll recommend it.
Ah okay. Well completing the quests again should make them go away. If they aren't - that is a bug.
@quick shard Just ran into this (the blacksmith outfit problem) myself. It turns out that a friend had completed the previous quest - The Blacksmith's Family, where you actually get the lost soul that has the missing outfit. As soon as I activated personal progression and went and did that quest, the Blacksmith Outfit quest immediately completed as well.
Great information and greatly appreciated 😃
