yeah solo issues no problems, and as of 11 hours ago was able to join the dedicated server - gportal hosted server

Can you also try to access a resource server, or another server other than the one you are currently playing on? See if you can?

You can try rebooting your system until then and see if that helps as well.

might be worth noting that i have another friend (not the one who has access to the server) is able to join without any issues

Once you get back from rebooting and checking. One of the server people said to start a new character and see if that character is able to join the server, just to check to see if it can.

rebooted pc and internet, neither of which made a difference, i made a new character before reaching out - it had a similar issue but it played the starting cutscene first then went into a infinite loading screen

when i try to join (on my main character) its a black screen with the loading symbol, when i force close it via steam i can briefly see the loaded world before the game closes..

have you had the server restarted? I have seen characters get locked up on the server side before as well... after restart things come back.

haven't been able to contact my friend with the access to restart server, could it potentially be locked by exiting the game without returning to main menu (as that what i did last night)

yes... good possibility... I think the server sends your system a copy of the character on exit, just to make sure changes moved across... I haven't looked into why that may be happening from time to time... but that could be it.

okay hopefully restarting the server and exiting to the menu before closing in the future might be benefical

yup... one other thing that sounds totally odd, but some of the time solves things. change the password.

tried the new character again just to confirm it was still having the same issue - its still an issue so maybe its ip related rather then character related?

Yeah... server logs would maybe show something in there.. but if the server got hung up trying to make contact with you when you left last time... it might be having a hard time reconnecting as well.
