#Villagers and animals not moving
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Putting this in a thread for you guys.
And also for Cub who is playing Kall at the moment.
If the relog doesn't work, then i'd ask you to go to a second altar, set up a little feeding area, preferably just by putting down walls/ceiling and bed/food without altering any terrain and see what that does.
zawisza can I ask you to join your save file please?
i am not sure how to get my save file
Do you have steam cloud on or off?
\Steam\userdata\YOURSTEAMID\1203620\remote Then go there, copy whats in that folder into a ZIP file and drag drop that file in here.
Do you have multiple worlds or just the one?
Okay, in that file you'll be able to tell which one is the one you're playing on by the last updated, which should be todays date/time. That's the only world you need (Anything with those alocations)
Then they'll be able to get what they need ^^
Still do those little tests you're doing though, and add any updates in here.
we can't reproduce the issue with your save file. Everything and everyone seem to be moving just fine on our end. Could you upload your log file as well? Maybe there's some hints in there
also if you could perhaps tell us more about your computer's specs
i just did a test, with doing absolutely nothing (just waiting), the animals start getting hungry after about 20 min. Some of the villagers carried on moving though. After another 10 min, the rest of the animals became hungry. But the hunter was still moving. I then observed one of the rabbits in more details and could see that it was doing a hop forward animation but not actually moving. Kind of stuck in place. I then took the rabbit and made a new shelter in a different location/flame. There the rabbit was still hungry and would do the hop animation, but not move foward.
How do I find the logs?
Find Enshrouded in your Steam library, right-click it, go to Manage and select Browse local files
In the folder that will open, find a file either called enshrouded.log or just enshrouded. There is also a folder called backup, where older log files are moved.
oh I was gonna type dis
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Enshrouded
I just copied your words from I-need-help ๐
Do you think it is worth reinstalling the game?
I honestly don't know that it would help
if you have a good pc and you don't mind you could give it a try, but maybe it's on the save side so reinstalling wouldn't change anything
after waiting a bunch we've been able to reproduce the issue btw
we gon put the investigation glasses on

By the way, this world was created before the last big update, before animal farming. Also, it is a multiplayer game i am playing with friends.
Not sure if that is in any way relavant, but i thought best to let you know.
normally this shouldn't have any bearing, we try not to break the game between updates
emphasis on try
Your system does appear to be a good system.
Most of the stuff in the log file is greek to me, but I am noticing that you have both a peripheral and an integrated graphics card. The Peripheral - the Geforce 3060 Laptop GPU - is perfectly fine, however the Integrated one - the Intel Iris Xe - is under spec, which could cause quite a few issues in the game.
It's a shot in the dark here, but would you be willing to go into your device manager and make sure that the Intel Iris Xe has been disabled under display adapters? Just to make sure the game isn't using it. If it isn't disabled), go ahead and right click on the Intel Iris Xe in the list and click disable. (it might ask you to restart), and check to see if the issue persists?
I will give it a go later today, CoolUsernameBro did say they have been able to reproduce the error on my save file, so it is unlikely related to my machine. Something wrong with the save file I am guessing.
He said they can't reproduce it - at least in the comment above - so it didn't really clear up the issue.
originally the save looked fine, but after a bit the behavior appeared
OOh I missed that.
Yeah, then you are right - It's unlikely to be the video card. I would still check it out, though, if your performance has been shifty.
Vulkan likes to toss the first video card it sees at the game.
indeed i will try it out as i have acctually experienced some rubberbanding, and to me it looks like a video thing as it happens when there is a lot of stuff going on on the screen
I don't suppose you have any good news for me ? ๐
no but looking at the ticket it seems the team is still investigating
in any event, it's not going to be fixed for tomorrow I'm pretty sure
and there also seem to be a collection of issues that result in this, rather than "all of it stems from that one thing"
oh, that's very strange
I don't suppose there was any updates on my broken save file?
It's the weekend for them.
Whatever fix you would see would be in the form of a bug fix in a patch. The issues you are having are issues with pathing of animals and NPC's in the game. It's not a broken or corrupted save.
They hope to have a patch out as early as Monday (German time) but could be later depending on everything they are going to be putting in there. But keep in mind, if they were still investigating it as late as Thursday/Friday for them - It's very possible that fixes for your issues might not be in this patch coming up.
I wonder though, if it is a pathing issue rather then specific save file, then it would happen also in other saves, which I have not found.
I think some of these NPCs like the alchemist are stuck because the stairs of the building they want to move into are too high for them to climb them
but for the rest of the issues no news
I see. no, they used to walk up the stairs no problem at all.
I don't suppose there is any news on this ?
