#During installation, it actually took

So you're having problems connecting to other people's games and they're having problems connecting to you?
It works on a Dedicated server hosted on the Internet but not on any games hosted on a local machine?
It doesn't work on either. But they are able to connect using their laptop on the same network.
Yes, exactly, sorry, English is not my native language
It's fine, I'm just trying to get my head around the issue.
The computer is also new.
no problem
๐
I can play solo without any problems, but as soon as I try to join another game or someone else, it doesn't work
This issue is happening on one computer you have but not another?
Just my laptop, but its performance isn't that good
So far we have done all the usual (drivers, verifying etc) as well as toggling the shader pre-caching. The computer is also able to play other games online without issue, though that doesn't eliminate a lot.
and it works without any problems
It doesn't. I'm trying to determine if the issue is with the specific computer itself or something on the network, so I kind of need an idea of which circumstances it works under and which it does not.
Oh! and people are unable to connect to them when they host as well.
So people can't connect to them and they can't connect to each other over the internet, but it works when both computers are connected to the same network?
As far as I understand it, yes.
Okay, if that's the case then the issue would seem to be on their router.
I've already reinstalled the game several times, I've removed all of my cloud saves so that the game is reinstalled really cleanly, I've uninstalled my graphics drivers and installed the latest ones, it must be because my PC won't let me out and won't let anyone in. I just can't say whether any specific ports have to be open for enshraudet, otherwise I'll run out of ideas.
If they can connect on the local network then it's not the computer firewall that's the issue. If this only occurs across the internet, then it's something with the router or ISP.
Oh.. you know I didn't even think of that. My networking 101 teacher (from 1996) would have my head.
I'm an IT director and do networking stuff every day, so this is kind of my thing.

OH. I don't think they tested that
can they connect to their own game on steam with both computers?
It can't be the rouiter, because I can join my friends' games with the laptop, but not from the desktop PC.
Okay, so the laptop works to join but the desktop doesn't. That points to an issue with the computer.
Routers can have different permissions for different devices
They can, but unless you've set that up they generally don't.
This doesn't sound like they have.
True
Can you check the laptop and desktop to see if the Windows Firewall is turned off on either device?
Yes, exactly, the destop pc doesn't want to let me out or anyone in. at least with entshraudet, because with other games it works without any problems.
Well. I will leave you to it, you know more than I will ever know (I never made it to networking 102). Ping me if you need anything ๐

They're on both sides, but I've already turned them off, but that didn't help either.
Okay. Are you running antivirus on the machines?
yes, but I had already deactivated them completely and checked both of them to see if they were included in the releases for enshraudet, but still he doesn't want to
May I ask which antivirus you're using?
the windows own
Defender and nothing else installed then?
yes
Hmm. That's very strange. It seems like something on the computer is blocking the connection, but without knowing all the programs installed on your PC or without being able to look at packet traces, it's going to be very difficult to nail this down.
Can't really tell where it's being blocked.
Yes, I can understand that well, I know the problem when I have to help someone else over the phone or PC
I'm trying to think of how to go about diagnosing this, but I'm coming up blank. We know the router isn't blocking it since the laptop works. We know it's not the firewall since turning it off doesn't help. We know it's not an antivirus since you're not running one...
I don't know if that helps, after the Windows security update that came out about 2 weeks ago, I can no longer use TS either, because it always loses the connection or drops out again and I can't get in anymore.
Is that Teamspeak?
Teamspeak is flaky, any number of things could interfere with it. Doesn't really help much with this.
Did this issue start happening with the Windows update?
The Enshrouded one?
was an idea
It is entirely possible an update could be behind it, Microsoft causes all kinds of problems with their updates. Are you on Win 10 or Win 11?
I can't say that, I only got the PC shortly before and haven't played Enshrauded yet
Okay, press Win + R and run the command 'winver'.
If you could tell me if you're running Win 10 or 11 and which Version it's on.
Ah... 24H2. Yeah, there's some issues with that version, specifically in the Network stack.
Would you be able to try rolling back to 23H2?
Yes, I'll soon be receiving new little ubdates every day, so it's best to wait a little longer
Well, all I can think now is that the 24H2 update is causing an issue with the network stack and there's not much to be done about that to fix things aside from trying a rollback. If you're not going to do that then I don't know what else to suggest.
Well, I'll have to see how I can do it. Windows had already been repaired, but that didn't help. There is also a difference between my desktop PC and laptop, on the laptop there is Win11 Pro and here it is just the normal one
Oh gods I didn't even see it was Win 11 Home.
Okay, thanks to you first, I'll try that tomorrow, because it's 1 a.m. for me ๐
Have a good evening and I hope you figure it out.
