#any word on when we might get a fix for

It will help us a lot if you could give us some information on this topic
What's your hardware, if I may enquire?
and an RX 6700 XT
however my friend has a much better pc than mine and still experiences
this bug
I'm also fairly new to PC so if i don't give you all the information you're looking for just tell me where to look lol
That's the GPU, I imagine?
yes
Could you tell me some more about when it happens? Does it occur right after starting the game or when playing for an extended amount of time? Does it happen when NPCs wake up?
Or after a teleport?
i can't really say, it seems to happen randomly. atleast for the npcs around the base. it's happened minutes after starting a game, for the npc's atleast. I could try to compile a list of armors this affects my character and my friends characters ( so far any armor with physics {capes/cloth/robes})
for my own character i've seen it occur right after rolling, gliding, and just turning around really fast.
This may sound like a stupid question, but do you think that the longer the piece that has physics, the more likely it is to produce this error?
for example, a cape is more likely to trigger this than just a small drape
i can say the Healer armor (from the alchemist) was worst. i had to ask my friend to stop wearing it. its very droopy so this might be the case
strangely the Mountains shadown armor chest piece does this bug differently. You'd think it'd be the cape that causes it but its Two long lines starting from the left hip. I'll screen shot it the next time it happens
gotcha. Additionally, do you guys get constant FPS? Do you have V-sync on or off?
the only time my frames seem to dip is when i look at the map, otherwise it seems fine and i do have Vsync on.
the npcs that this bug seems to happen to the most are the hunter, the collector, lady leclair, aunt braelyn, and hugo vanderhal. The hunter and collector being the most frequent
i can also say that this bug didnt seem to happen until the latest release the mountain expansion
this happened after running up an incline
just now
i haven't teleported anywhere yet, this is my home base. i've only been in the world for about 30 minutes?
gotcha. Would it be possible to get some confirmation if it ends up happening to any and all assets, or specifically the ones you mentioned?
yea i can take screenshots of each NPC when they are bugged and kinda give an idea of what i was doing at the time when i see it
I'll trust your word for it, the screenshot is not necessarily needed. What matters most is nailing down whether or not the issue occurs to just a handful of specific armor sets/npcs or if it happens to everything and anything, but some take longer than others to bug out
If you need a save that's had it happen you have mine and I have had this happen on occasion too. It seems to be a pretty prolific issue for people if reddit is to be believed, but also fairly random. Personally I have only seen it on myself but It can be fixed by removing the cosmetic chest piece and putting it back on again. Now that I think on it, since I took off my cosmetic gear I haven't seen it happen - but that could be coincidence as well.
problem is that we haven't been able to reproduce it locally
Yeah - it seem particularly random. It's gonna be a tough one to nail down for sure.
so in testing around with armors i've noticed that when the bug happens the stretched area always seems to tether to something as it it gets caught and is immediately pulled in one direction. it even casts a shadow. i'm still writing down every armor that has done it so far but nearly every armor that has any significant wavy/flowy bits is capable of doing this. OH and i found out what the two stretches were from the shadow of the mountain set. the two dangly bits from the belt in front. strange that this is what always gets snagged and not the cape.
Out of curiosity is this armor being worn as a cosmetic or as the real thing, and does it happen both ways?
they all also seem to have the same point of origin. like the shadow of the mountain set will always pull from those two pieces and never the cape where the halloween set always pulls from the front stomach area
both
So you are able to force it to happen, or you are just wearing the sets until it does?
damn. lol.
but i am also running around, rolling and gliding
to see if it has any kinda triggers but it still just happens randomly
I was hoping we could give kall something to help them track it down
i'll probably just jot down any information with each armor including where the stretch always originates from. who knows maybe it'll help if they know where it starts rather than when it starts
When trying to nail down a bugs origins, anything could be helpful. 🙂
happened just as the npc turned to speak to me. these are always the 3 points that stretch from this npc. I've set every NPC to have 0m travel. to see if it was related but appears not.
*better image
happened randomly, always the same spot on the npc that stretches as well.
so this bug isnt limited to npcs and the player. but also decorations (as shown) and even enemies.
the enemies i've encountered with this bug so far are the glowing undead brawlers in and around hollowed halls (the ones that run up and punch you)
The new Scavengers (specifically ran into an enemy that had this bug at the forge of Obsidia on the second floor, I never knew there was a second floor until i saw his outfit stretch through the ceiling to where i was lol)
it seems to actually pull the clothing pieces and stretch them (picture showing that it casts a shadow)
