#Hey guys, I tried rolling back my world
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
yeah with cloud on
I found the saves on the remote store app url
just not sure which combination of each I need, I've tried one of each at the same timestamp but that didnt work
When did the griefing begin?
or rather, do you have an idea when you want to roll back?
yeah I think the saves at 10:26pm on the 6th
should be in the clear
do I just drop all of the files leading up to that or only one of each type?
Give me a moment, I'm juggling quite a few things here
ah nws take your time ๐
So yeah, first off, you make a backup of these files just in case.
Then, you remove the files that exist after the time you have mentioned. Don't try to align the numbers, the time and date are the important factors here.
should I have steam cloud enabled/disabled during this or it doesnt matter?
You can also remove "Index" and "info" for the world information. However you would need to create a new world - but it should still have all your information like buildings and stuff. The "Info" is essentially a file that has stuff like your world name, so once you "create" the new world, it will recognize the world files that already are there.
If I recall correctly (this is more of a Steam thing, not ours) if you just delete the files Steam will try to download it from their cloud and would replace your stuff with what it had in store
So I think you need to go into offline mode, make the changes, and once you go back into online mode, you update to the cloud from your local files
an user made this guide some time ago
but it's quite verbose
ooo very cool
Just to help kall out here - these are the file locations, as cloud saves and non-cloud saves are in different folders:
For local save files:
..\Users\%username%\Saved Games\Enshrouded
For cloud save files:
..\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YourSteamID]\1203620\remote
YourSteamID is your unique Steam ID number
oh interesting, the autosave backups must have been a patch? i don't recall them in february, neat to learn what the -1 and -2 after the save file means. neat guide.
You would need to copy all the files in your cloud folder to the non-cloud one and then make the changes
ahh
ok
i think i was putting them into the remote file with the cloud saves hence no changes appearing
been a long while that they are around, yeah, it's a new thing. But not the best implementation
then once the time stamps are updated by going into the game, you can copy them back
okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
thanks guys โค๏ธ
the world loaded in all g and I got my character back
Getting rid of the info/index files and also dropping them in the local save location fixed it
Glad to hear it. Yeah Kall is the bomb. ๐
glad to hear, sorry you were griefed also.
ah its all good, i made a mistake with not setting password for friends
man was chasing me with tnt which was funny... it wasnt till today tp'd to the base and it was all destroyed
I can't even possibly fathom why someone would think that's even remotely fun.
fr fr
like... how sad must your life be that your entertainment is ruining other people's fun and hard work?
just need a mechanic where whatever was built in flame radius, regenerates when destroyed by explosives. which tbh would make for epic base battle mini game then. since really it's supposed to be that the only way you lose bases is by taking out the flame alter. or editing it out with hammer.
Not sure if that's how it's "supposed" to be. Removing the flame will reset an area to default, but any damage to a base shouldn't regen as some people do use damage by pick or whatnot to add character to builds.
and they are technically "player made changes" just like removing or adding blocks
well it's just for explosives, perhaps it would only regenerate for other players explosives, and not your own. possible to differentiate in the code probably.
anyway - we've hijacked this thread enough. lol
it wouldn't really accomplish anything now, except an end to easier griefing. but in the future after 1.0 if they also added friendly fire toggle, then people could build pvp bases with objectives to destroy the base, and the bases would eventually regenerate so you could restart rounds easily but also determine winners based on the base destruction.. but also just have environment destruction that isn't perm i guess.
