So your character progress is carried across worlds.
- Equipment is brought over
- Skills and stats and everything is brought over
However quests are world dependent meaning if a quest you haven't done is already finished in another world, you won't be able to do that quest. Quests give a very small amount of exp that is neglectible so you don't have to worry about missing levels.
