I know mid 20s is around when mage gameplay starts to feel not-terrible. Melee builds are generally pretty solid for most of the game. Not sure what ranger builds are like in the mid 20s though, so I don't know how they compare at that point.
Of course with the recent skill tree overhaul it's probably a good idea to take any previous builds with a grain of salt now.
Ya... So for I looted the end-game blue sword (intentionally vague)
And so I have a Kick/Shockwave 2H build
But I was hoping to try different things out
there's a guy who does a shroud depot type thing for items in 5lv increments
idk what level eternal spells come up for mage but im pretty sure a 5% mana leech staff will relatively "solve" mana issues
and i know my most fun had was hollowed halls on mage
Yeah, Mana Leech does a lot of heavy lifting at solving mage mana issues. Especially if you're lucky enough to score a staff with it between levels 5 and 20.
It's not as mandatory at later levels, but it's still nice to have. Especially since increasing max mana via Spirit is kind of pointless without any other form of percent based mana regen.
ya
But yeah, I'm not too familiar with 2H weapon builds. Even with the animation changes in the last update I find them a bit unwieldy for my playstyle. I'm more of a 1H sword and staff build.
Gives me a nice balance of speed, survivability and support.
I use a 1H for most things, but I am also loving the sword for swarms
But that is most of what I'm running into is swarms lol
The Great sword changes are great for that
Is 1h different with shield and without? Forgive me if its a silly question
My strategy for swarms has been to blast away with Light Burst, spawn a bunch of recovery orbs, and then cut everything up while picking up the orbs if I need to.
Used to have a bit more crowd control before Terror got nerfed, but the pushback from the spell is still useful for breathing room.
You can still block if that is what you mean.
Doesn't change damage profile at all though, eh? So pretty pointless to not have a shield.
Yeah, having a shield is simply better.
Yeah, if you're using a 1H there's no reason not to use a shield. Though if you don't want a hunk of metal hanging off your arm for aesthetic reasons the magical wards serve a similar function and only have a visual when actively blocking (though they're better at parrying than they are sustained blocking).
Shields have better perks for blocking/parrying
I believe you don't get a damage boost when you do not use a sheild.
Always use a shield. It's better than not having it
Hey any idea Tricks for get strong into early game as Tank?
The Pocket Sun Strat to spawn ten billion orbs, will never not be funny. 90% bloodletting and lightning channel creates similar hilarity
It's really hard if you don't have rings with health leach, there's a 1h sword that drops from the bugbear things with 2x health leach
so do more levels of Earth Aura just increase the size of the aura, not the defensive power?
Correct
Thanks
Have the devs ever considered making some single handed and larger weapons have dex scaling?
Anyone has a good two hand build that also handles some range well enough?
I'm terrible at building something that feels balanced
Thank you, I'll try it out but I am not sure I liked the feeling of the greatsword
Feel free to change the weapon
The idea is there regardless

Are there any decent battlemage tank builds out there I could be pointed at? I love the Paladin feels.
Im kinda working on one but I'm only level 15 so far.
Useing burning weapons and a shield.
Started up warrior path in slashing, went up to bash then started the tank and healer trees. Will be working through the healer tree over to mage for arsonist.
Took merciless attack and nodes for perry and block.
I'm so new to this game I just don't even know what's "good".
Thanks for the tips!
At least respeccing seems super easy.
I have to air a grievance. Those things that divide in the air and turn into projectiles are terrible and they either need nerfed or something needs to be done with them
You mean the ones the banshee's throw? You can dodge them. That's what I (mostly) do. I have a stack of health potions for the ones that I fail to dodge
I think he means the wisps
I can copy what I've got so far, but I'm not maxed. I'm recently returned from 1.5 years ago where the max was 35 and 114 points. I think at this point I'm up to maybe 39 and like 140ish points? Sec.
Just parry them
@fossil oak Ok, pretty rough cut, got some stuff going on so effectively I'm working with just the one eye right now... 😢
Unfortunately you can't really do paladin like you would traditionally think of one in Enshrouded. (I at least think of limited burst heals, auras, etc.) so I'm thinking more of like "Frost Knight". You've got staff, maining ice blast, for range. While you can use magic gloves or rings to get +quick cast, I don't know that it's really the best idea.
Right now I've taken off Tower and Warden because they don't feel super necessary compared to the others. (Damage vs ranged and extra crit chance.) I'm also trying to work my way back into the stamina recovery node, as well as the 4th food slot. Sooo... flushed out max end game, add on Tower, Warden, 4th food slot, food regen, Retribution Aura, Greatsword boost, take the multi-nodes to max which you can (like I think I'm only at +2% crit here), and then very last bump Int as much as you can.
At range if there is a group of 3 or more, boop them with as many Ice shots as you can (usually you'll run out of mana right as they get into melee range) then finish the rest off with melee. If it's just 1-2 guys don't even bother with staff UNLESS you get super short on mana, then back out, Ice Ice baby until that stamina comes back.
If you were to build from zero, I guess where you go depends on your playstyle. I'd prioritize blink dodge (personally I can't play without that), then quick cast (because staff is just intollerably slow with none), then build down into warrior on 1hd stuff.
Note, you can pretty much ignore 2hd if you want, HOWEVER, once you get your ult, if you have them, swapping over, hitting ult, then swapping back to 1hd can situatually do some very massive damage. Personally I find the 1hd ult is fine for most cases, but like vs specific bosses that really big targeted hit is great, or if you are somehow totally surrounded the greatsword whirlwind can be helpful (though honestly I'd prefer to back out and just Fireball a group like that.)
Oh PS, you may want Power Parry, Bash, and Shockwave. Personally I felt I trigger those way too infrequently, so those are very low on my list and I'll get them near last.
Thanks man!
Oh ps ps, also note that things like Retribution Aura require you be hit. If you parry, or are blocking, it seems like that doesn't work. (It never did back when I was playing 1.5 years ago and that looks unchanged.) Sooo... if you are good at parrying, or are like me and tend to hold block, then attack in a chain, it's almost never going to go off. So it really has extremely limited usefulness. (Especially since it really doesn't seem to do much vs heavier targets and is just meh against ranged ones.)
perhaps they could expand to include deflection buffs in the future
does chain hit and mass desctruction work on a sword with lightning ?
Ps Ps Ps if you play in groups you might also want to build out to Bloodletting. But, theoretically, in solo play, you probably won't get much benefit from that because if you are fighting at range you either aren't hurt, the Water Aura is enough to keep you topped off, or you are nearly dead and trying to panic get the hell outa there. In any of those cases the drops won't be super benefitial.
I've been asking for different auras and such that don't require you be hit for years now, heh. I honestly think there needs to be about 20% more abilities, because it really feels like with the current interation you are kind of forced to go into different specs away from your main to cover areas the main isn't great in. (Which, I guess, is fine, but like with my build I'm 90% melee, 10% magic, and sure that's about how my points are split, but I shouldn't NEED to take those magic ones to fill in where melee is lacking.)
I could easily see half a dozen different ones down in the 'battle mage' area for that.
And things that improve defensiveness overall, like a node that increases block amount, reduces block stamina, etc.
I also put in a suggestion last week that now that they have gems having 'skill tree gems' would be nice. Things that can flip existing skills. Like there could be a gem that flips Water Aura to be based on Strength instead of Intellegence. Or there could be stamina gems, which could reduce the stamina cost of some skills, etc.
no idea if they plan to expand the skill tree again or not
if higher levels and new maps come into play perhaps we'll see that
It seems unlikely. It's taken them 2 years so far and we barely got anything changed, heh.
to be fair they are developing the base game so their hands are pretty full
after initial development that's when things can get crazy seeing as they plan to continue making content
Sure sure, and in all honesty it's a super casual game, so it's... fine... really as is.
still its easier to impliment some things during these earlier stages too so we should always give our feedback asap
I'm trying to unlock the Eternal Ice Bolt I spell but my quest is bugged.
what seems to be the problem?
The "An Eternal Spell" quest is bugged, and it's my understanding I need to complete it in order to progress to find the other eternal spells
Ice bolt. The alchemist quest
low meadow
okay... what is bugged about it?
The tomb is already open
so did someone else open it then?
No, i'm playing private
did you kill the enemy down there and loot them?
low meadows, hidden tomb entry... no enemies, and no loot?
correct
from what I understand, I just did the quest myself right now...
you go in, get to the end, defeat an enemy, obtain spell on it's corpse, and the room looks like this
There was no enemy or corpse for me
the only things I can think of then would be:
- maybe you're playing with "less enemies" and that prevented the guy from spawning somehow?
or - that you/someone did that quest before, was down there, slayed those enemies... and they haven't respawned yet.
That's an interesting point on the #1
But I am playing on default
you could "verify integrity of game files" but there really isn't any reason they shouldn't spawn.
they either need to have been killed in that world save before
or... no that's really it? it's not a random thing, it's a "set in stone" kind of thing
less enemies or already killed
Does in-game time pass if I sleep to next day?
if you mean for respawning things, no
Hello! I'm new. Is there a way to disable attack "queue'ing"?
Am I just missing them or is there only one skill that increases damage of two hand weapon types? I only see two handed great swords skill titan edge.
What level does gem of agility return 20 stamina?
I've seen conflicting photos, and I don't want max level numbers... Just how much refunds the melee dash
Does this work with all weapons?
yes
thank you
I’m currently building an arcane archer. Focused on bow with eternal frost arrows and explosive arrrows. Combined with wands and stacking as much elemental damage as possible
It genuinely feels incredible even with 50 ish points currently
hi guys, i just downloaded enshrouded few minutes ago.. can anyone help me limit my fps to 60? i only have vsyn on/off option.
What GPU do you have?
RTX3080
Go to the Nvidia App
The tab, I think its called Graphics, look for the game settings for Enshrouded. There should be a max FPS setting somewhere
I'll be back at my pc in 5 mins so I can have a look. It'll be in german tho
😅
im on nvdia app rn, i cant find where to change fps 😅.. sry im must be blind
There should be more options below that. Something something global
Unless they hid that away with the latest update, I'll check once Im back
found it.. thank you so much..
Just dont change Global global or youre limiting everything to 60 😅
this one right?
max frame rate 60 fps
i wanted to max quality but if my fps is more than 150, my gpu temp goes over board
Yeah if youre still under Graphics > Enshrouded and thats in the lower part, thats the setting
im checking if 60 fps still move smooth.. other wise gonna have to make it higher XD
I got mine set at 60, as you can see, and I run a 5090 >.<
No need to cook my GPU for this lol
Ive a 4080 it has 3 wires that are held together by hope and prayers i love nvidea for this fire hazard soltution
🥹
ahaha..
I have my 5090 at 90% powerdraw, I am not allowing that connector to draw its full 600W throught that flimsy cable

Yeah the cable is lame
Idk how they havent fixed it yet its so easy
Cant wait till they realise they can also add the power cable to the back sife of the card instead of the front side
I run a i7 8700k so i never should be able to reach full power on the 4080 i think
i wanted to buy new pc since this one is already old.. but RAM price now a days is crazy
Oh the CPU has no say in this. Just hit up CP2077 with pathtracing and DLSS and your card will draw whatever it can lol
i'm waiting maybe next year.. hope it goes down to normal price
No reason to do that on purpose i havent bought my solar pannels yet
I wnna upgrade the pc but wait till they release something nicer for 4k gaming
Current upgrades are kinda meh
Honestly, the 4090 and 5090 were the first 2 cards where I just went... okay, no tinkering needed, set it to max, turn on framegen and DLSS, turn down powertarget to 90% and be done with it
all the cards before I always overclocked, adjusted boost curves etc etc.
no more.
Plug and play. Be done with it
Im at 80-ish % 4k tho, not full 4k
5120x1440p
When i got my 1080ti when it released i was very happy it worked great out of the box even 4k gaming and looked awesome
My 4080 went from long to tiny and thick
Its water cooled as well
And instead of adding the pipe part to the shorter end they put it on the fat side
Increasing the thickness
Than the fire hazard cables on top
Great engineering
🥹
how long to change liquid for water cool set up? is it 6 months?
Ive it for 2 years i think and havent changed it
So far great stuff
My 1080ti i had since like 2018 ish gave it to my dad and it still runs great
water cooled?
yeah.. same mine i gave to my brother.. still works for 8 years now..
If the 3080ti had frame regen i prob would have gotn it instead of the 4080 tbh
Yeah it was an amazing card
First one to trully play 4k decent
But yeah hope that they release a decent card soon than i will upgrade my pc
The 4090 had great power but heard the vram got waay too hot for comfort
i was thinking RTX 5060 is it good?
Yeah its a good card
hope before GTA release ram price is already back to normal price
Im looking a little bit more towards amd though now a days
Nvidea is rlly great but they dont give all the extra fancy software updates to older cards
So unless you buy their best every year amd might catch up
Bcz they seem to kinda do it
yeah that's what my friend also suggested to me
AMD is doing the same thing with FSR4 tho
and this turned into a topic for https://discord.com/channels/1046840540550942720/1105417250065879150
ahahha
I hope your snow drops
its a good learning info for me someone with little knowledge about tech stuff
Im also no tech veteran but its always good to ask so far 2 years without water change nor issues with it even moved the pc with the coolant in it but now back to combat and skills before we get send to the dungeons
Qq though regarding AMD, is AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT better than RTX5060?
a little price diff but idk about their performance
Overal i think amd is better but when games are proper optimised for ai tools like dlss nvidea usualy beats em
Get the one that is cheapest in that case
Thank you for the info..
Im playing as a tank any pro tips here
i last played Aug 2024, haha i got no idea any build now.. my build was reset and i forgot the basic. I'm actually thinking of just starting over again.
Ive picked it up during a sale last week
Lvl 11 now having quite some fun
I play as a tank and my gf as a mage currently
im mage back then.. im gonna play mage again maybe..
tank is the unkillable right, they have lifesteal
Mage sounds full i usualy like suport roles like healer or tank
im more on backliner.. nuker healer and builder is my role in my squad haha.
btw qq, do we need to build house for the npc's?
kind of, they need a bed and roof over the bed
i don't like building so my "base" is just a giant floor of all the different crafting tables and chests, then "upstairs" is just a floor of beds with a roof over it
Would love a class that cooks with great buff items sadly need more ppl for great benefits
Yeah ive build them all houses that fit em
Make a cool village i hope
They don't all need houses, my Alchemist has a tower.
Thats kinda cool ngl
What does he do in the tower
Not a pro level game. it's effectively a cozy game. The nodes are super logical just look around at the tree parts you can reach. Really the only thing I could think of that might be critical as a melee person is I'd recommend Blink and Emergency Blink to get out of stun lock.
Not as much as you'd think. A big hit is going to chunk you down, period. It's not like other games where a tank is significantly more durable than other classes. Lifesteal works by doing damage. If you can't or aren't doing damage currently, you aren't getting anything back.
Mage can run support. Don't think of it so much as the traditional 3 roles, because there is a lot of bleed between different things here. Like ALL magic is Int based, so your Water Aura heal will scale off of Int, your fireball damage will scale off Int. So offensive / support Mage are really the same thing here. It just depends which abilities you take. For support you'd want the one that has up to a 15% chance on magic damage to generate supportive balls. (I forget the name, but it's up in Trickster), and of course Water Aura.
That will probably only work well until the late 30s. At that point your crafting stations start taking up a lot of room. (My current biggest base is like that. That was the one I had at lv 35 back in the day when that was max level.)
I'm now starting to move to a place where they can get their own areas. I'll probably be targeting 4x3 (at the big 4x4 squares) for their crafting area, then probably 2x3 for their bedroom areas, and giving everyone different buildings.
Hey all, I'm back to the game since some time off before the update, and I notice my fishing baits are ineffective, but I can't find anything in the patch notes about this change. What are you all using for bait now?
huh? just make the floor bigger lmao
Lighting becomes more of an issue the bigger your open space gets.
mine is fine
Like my main base that is like yours is something like 9x12? (In the big squares) and I had to put torches pretty much every big square otherwise it was basically pitch black at night (with just wall lighting)
only beds need roofs, crafting stations don't
Plus it's not just that. The stations are more than 1 big unit tall now, so that's becoming an issue as well.
I always just build / dig custom themed areas for each storage or work area.
We have a cliff side hobbit hole right now.
Amazing how the base can feel vibrantly different just on where and how you build
Question, has anybody tried to use thowables as primary weapons with success?
for end game wizard stuff is staff or wands the best now given that wands has an ult and staff doesnt
the "ult" doesn't change much imo, wand is best for single target dps while staff still aoes hardest
has anyone else have the issue of great swords prioritizing targeting inanimate objects like farm dirt or a wooden wall when using the hold left attack rather than the enemy infront of you?
yes/kind of?
heavy attacks (at least on 1H) can only hit one thing, so they hit the inanimate object first... and ignore the enemy in front of you...
so the heavy attack on 2 handed does attack one item at a time. so it's not just me. IDK why it prioritizes that way but good to know I am not the only one.
likely just.. "They coded it that way" and didn't realize
Emergency blink sounds nice didnt know it existed
Absolute must have - I've found it a bit wild this patch, sometimes does like a double distance teleport - but still, absolutely vital skill
Only reason to take the other dodge is a team based backstabber build really, blinks with emergency is just so much better
Nice indeed
Is Eagle Eye a passive skill or do I need to press an additional button than right click to zoom in with it?
This may be true at earlier levels, but I tend to refund it around mid-late game as I'm just not in a position where I'm liable to be stunned by an enemy
I think the only thing that stuns me nowadays is mismanaging my stamina and blocking at the wrong time, but Emergency Blink doesn't help there anyway
Some info I’ve found on “Frost”…,
First “freeze an enemy” is inaccurate. You can see the Frost debuff on them as a swirly snowflake under them. It does not seem to stack. It just seems to be applied or not. As a rough guess I’d say it reduces movement and attack speed about 15%.
Second, and this was why I thought it wasn’t working, is when you hit with an Ice Bolt it causes a poof of cold which applies the Frost debuff. I think it lasts about 5 seconds. So if you are staff/melee hybrid they will likely already have the debuff by the time they get to melee.
Soooo… yes it can slightly help, but it doesn’t “freeze” in the sense of them being immobilized and not attacking, and it’s not more than staff ice shots do (though the application would run out without it, and with only 3 in quick charge I’m not fast enough to get a shot off vs multiple gator badguy enemies because invariably one will charge and interrupt the cast.)
Hey can anyone tell me what the yellow bar is for above the aiming reticle?
I've seen it change around enemies - but haven't figured out it's exact purpose so I'm curious
Maybe it’s range and damage drop off? 🤔
Pretty sure that's the focus bar for the special
hmmm I'll I haven't unlocked the special ability for bow yet 🤔💭
oooh I'll have to test that one
It's definitely the focus bar, just tested it - you still get the bar even if you don't have the focus attack
oh weird - makes it kinda confusing - buuuuut most people are oblivious to hud and UI elements and don't notice them unless they're immediately relevent lol
Makes sense since you can put it on Q and then it's not on the bar at all.
Though since all specials share the one bar it does seem odd it's not just going by the big main bar. 🤷♂️
Guys, before posting a thread on a feedback forum:
Does anything change/suppose to change when you destroy Fell's glowing growth?
Shroud roots?
is main use bow good and then 2de weapon greatsword great combo ? someone can help me
Haven't seen anyone using that combo - I use it the other way around with GS main, bow secondary - it's good
You're probably better off using daggers though, since it's all in the same tree and easier to spread points - having bow as secondary it doesn't do a lot of damage for me - I just needed a ranged option for certain enemies and mechanics
hello where do you farm the sunpiercer armor set?
Sorry, was away. No, i meant blue bulbs that counted as skillshot when you shoot them off
Does each weapon's special have their own seperatly tracked bar? I've been assuming it's just one bar - for no reason than I just didn't notice the bar unter the item bar changing when I swapped weapons
Not from what I can tell. I've got 1hd and 2hd, and they share one bar. Soooo... unless it's by like different weapon category (melee / ranged) then I'd think it's just one bar.
Yeah I just tested it;s the same bar lol
And the one ubove the bow reticle went up too
I will say that shooting the magic ice arros didn't seem to change the bar
I grabbed the pickaxe specialization/focus skill so I can max it out before battle via just... digging at walls and stuff, lol
projectiles and all weapons need to hit something, usually an enemy though
Yes. I was hitting an enemy with the wand, bow, 1h, and daggers, and the bow didn't move the bar.
looking for more enemies to keep testing
Hol'up...
Weapons th you do not have the ability unlocked for do no affect the bars level I think
Dealing damage with spells does fill the bar and the staff does not have a special skill , using the wand specialization as possible without using the wand to fill up the bar by filling it up with spell cast
ooo neat
I haven't tested the staff - ONLY bow, 1h, daggers, and wand.
Bow and daggers did not fill the meter and I do not have the skill unlocked for them. BUT 1h and wand DID fill the meter and I DO have the skill on locked for them.
If the staff doesn't have the ability AT ALL but DOES fill the meter that DOES NOT change the results of my tests... It just mean that staff magic fills the bar but doesn't have the ability.
You can craft the rare versions from the blacksmith with materials from the Veilwater Basin. Otherwise the epic and legendary versions drops from chests in the Veilwater Basin
I would also suggest using the Greatsword Gauntlets found in Goldrock Saddle
As it’s a piece of armor that doesn’t reduce wet time, and is easily attainable. On top of the immense boosts to GS damage it gives
If you’re using the megalodon Greatsword, sun piercer arms are actually worse, because it boosts slashing damage, which the Megalodon has a split damage type between Slashing and Shock
And it leans more into shock
Whereas if you’re using the Guard of the North sword. It’s the reverse
Not sure if this is the right channel but, trying to get some up to date information on what affects daggers directly.
Does "melee damage" buff them?
Does "Cutting melee damage" buff them?
Do some skills, like the jump up to flyer work for them?
Trying to figure out where to go next with my tree, and would prefer skipping the testing phase for this
As a general side note, is it possible to get Vukah daggers at higher level in epic/legendary? Loved the damn things, and now I'm stuck with "lesser" daggers
the melee "cutting" and other types of damage should affect daggers... strength does not affect daggers, only Dex... as for "Melee damage" from armor... maybe... I don't know that one, I'd have to test it...
but there is specifically armor with "+dagger damage" and that is blatantly for daggers only
oh, and the Vukah Daggers, if they're the ||"Sacrificial Vukah Daggers" are a Lore item and thus are craftable, but only up to "Rare" and the level for them depends on your progression||
Damn it, was really hoping I could get them later as a world drop or something
Crafted ones just don't cut it, considering they miss out on that second 5% leech
Strength I assumed as much, just trying to figure out if I can milk some of the red tree sections for more damage or not
you can, just not strength specifically, but the cutting and piercing, and "evasion attack" should work with daggers, and jump attack and crash down too
👌
Cheers, I'll wrap up my bow skills then mess with the red side a bit more I guess
Will likely just have to accept that I need to run the damn leech rings
I'll keep hope that later on there will be more leech daggers. Since I'm the closest damn thing we have to a tank, Imma need it 💀
is gem of currents the best in slot gem for end game currently? prolly any ice or shock weapon with that slotted?
I would say yes
Before I look at the feedback page, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if, when they update wand combat, that they're planning on adding some form of animation canceling mid attack? I noticed that its easy with melee mid swing to block and dodge, but not so mid attack with wand (even with the blink ability). Would definitely help with survivability, since I've died a couple times now because I can't run away. Maybe its just a skill issue lol
we have heard they are going to update the mage combat in 1.0... but we don't know what or how
Indeed. Thank you for responding! I'll go look at the feedback page
Yay! there was a wand animation canceling suggestion already, in case anyone in the future is searching for these keywords.
Is Counter Battery (Damage against ranged enemies is increased by 8% per level) your damage against ranged type enemies like archers/mages, or damage you deal to enemies from a range (like your hitting them with magic or bow-n-arrow)?
Question with Blood Rage... Is there a "melee" weapon that can kill further than 5 meters?
I think the only thing that could possibly count for this would be the projectile from the 1H special attack
That is what I thought...... it makes the "upgrades" to blood rage feel very lack luster
the upgrades only help in multiplayer, literally
unless you get miraculously lucky and one mob manages to kill another
I've had the big boss Drak kill smaller Drak and proc blood rage
Thought I will say, I'm having fun with blood rage and soul vial gem
Gem of Soul Reaping
I feel like I'm abusing it to it's fullest though
also in a very specific instance, not sure if you are aware, but blood rage procs on those rock spikes the big Drak throw out
I've not technically faced the Drak yet
Blood Rage good, I just wish the upgrades were a bit more meaningful for solo players
Even if it was duration
kick skill can be used with two hand weapons?
Yes
Can anyone tell me if the fire arrow with the 2 second stun works on the dragon after this update?
Guys do you have some tips to beat the Dragon's son. I just cant beat him.
I cant beat him
Its possible some friends log into my game to help me if it?
I spend 128 stun arrows but without success
Which one is this?
The actual Dragon, or the Wisp?
The one in the frozzen montain
Well since its a Dragon Youngling, I suppose we have localization understanding problems
Oh I see
And need so much stun arrows of it
Not localization I just thought it was a dragon, never read the youngling part after
I dont get it with 128 stun arrows
Stun arrows and parry the meteors
OMG have a Wisp yet hahahah I Toasted
Keep in mind, you can parry his meteors back at him. Which fills the bar very quickly
I am not sure if this is intended, or is a bug:
I created an ALT.
That ALT is not getting skill points for Elixir Wells.
This is in the same dedicated server as my main.
My main had previously cleared the Elixir Well.
My Alt cleared it solo.
Level 5 Alt, who has a total of 11 skill points (should be at least 13??).
Thanks for any information 🙂
As someone who is also leveling another character in my main save
You need to re clear an elixir well and cut the roots down for the points
Even if they’ve been cleared before
Thanks, I did cut down the root in the Elixir well. Unless that one only gives 1 point (the first one, just east of the Braelyn Bridge). At level 5 I figured I should have 10 skill points. I'll have to test that.
The next one, just west of the Springlands Ancient Spire did give me 3 points as expected.
Sup guys! Just sharing some legendary items specs that I didn't saw here yet.
For those who're searching by the name and not the image: Sunpiercer Helmet, Quetzal Hunter Chest, Waveborne Ritualist Gloves, Radiant Paladin Boots, Skull Stalker Shoes and Tidecaller Shoes
And where can i found Sunpiercer Helmet?
You can craft a blue rare version - the rest is RNG drops from chests
Staff neither has a special nor does it build skill. (Only ones where you've unlocked the special will build into it. Ex; you unlocked 1 hd, but not 2 hd. When using a 2 hd you do NOT build into ultimate.)
Are you referring to focus?
The crit perks and life on crit will.
99% sure it's against "ranged" enemies, no matter what your range, or damage type is (magic, ranged, melee).
This is correct
It’s a universal damage modifier
Maybe I wasn't responding to the original person, but it looked like it was a question of if Staff had an unlockable ult and built into the ult skill charge.
Same with Sunpiercers arms boosting all damage vs melee enemies by 5%
I'm assuming it won't have one because the spells are varried, and the reason they added them to the others were they were 'one note' in what they did.
Greatsword Gauntlets boosting damage vs flying enemies
k - not sure if this is how you meant it or not but staff does build focus charge for the r skill use
Etc
at least, for me it does - i only have the wand skill so maybe its tied to that
If that's true I've never seen it.
Could be wand does, and staff doesn't. I only use staff.
just to make sure i wasnt crazy i went and tested it just now. and yep, it grew when i hit something with eternal ice
And if it follows the others it would only build skill if you had the ult unlocked for that type.
the only focus skill i have unlocked is wand (not even axe/pick) so i guess it could be tied to that
Ummmm I'll watch more carefully, but as far as I know it's never charaged on my staff use. (I'm 'Frost Knight' build so only have like 12 total points in the magic area.)
Hai, gem forging is quite clanky isn't it? I can't see the gem statuses when upgrading or forging
Looking in the tree there IS a wand specalization, so if you've unlocked that, wand would build alt.
There is not for staff, so it should definately not be building into it.
yes definite. but it does build
The UI for that is... bad.
Finding a critter to boop with eternal ice to check.
100% no. Zero charge on loading in, 9 ice staff boops against aligator, zero charge increase. Finished him off with melee, every hit built charge.
before and after usign the steaff
So... if staff is building charge, then that's likely a bug connected to wand.
That or because my character / world is from >1.5 years ago.
Cause when I've speced out of 2hd ult, it never generated ult even though I for sure saw 1hd/2hd both built into it and could be used when both were unlocked.
Probs. I have like zero interest in wand since I'm Paladin-ish
(so big boop at far range with staff, or smash the face in melee)
i just specd out of wand specialty and have no bar now
(which tracks0
let me see what happens with a random other spec
yep - zero charge from staff with just the pickaxe spec
and soon as i spec back into wand spec it works again. So ... hidden benefit or bug?
I’ll get on and test my spellblade
But I’m almost positive that I don’t generate focus with my staff
And only do with my Greatsword
do dagger skills properly add damage to daggers with the update now?
I'd think it's likely a bug. Though I'm just guesing from a design decision that the ultimate was given to things that aren't flexible. The stafff can do all the things, so it doesn't really need an ult because it's doing all kinds of different moves.
Technically bug or not there's no Staff ult, so you couldn't like, do an ult where none exists even with full charge, heh.
right, which is why it doesnt generate any focus when you dont have a spec for a weapon
but it does generate focus and i use it to power my wand focus all the time. It could be a bug, but the fact that it only works with one spec (wands) may indicate its not - or that wand 'shots' and staff charges are the same thing / related thing in the code (and so a bug/unintended)
damn KICK + twohand weapons KICK ASS build so OP
maybe your wand just has an built in ' Eternal Wand Shot' in the background 😁
But that was my point with 1hd / 2hd melee. If you only have the ult unlocked for one of them, the other WILL NOT generate charge (nor can you use it's ult because you don't have it unlocked.) Which is why wand / staff charging on either with wand unlocked seems like a bug.
Because if you don't have the staff ult unlocked it should not generate any, but since it doesn't even have one it definately shouldn't.
Unless... squints that's the logic of it... because it can't ult it generates ult for the wand... but that'd be... weird. And definately should be explained in the game somewhere if that's intentional.
yep, i can see your point for it being a bug. Maybe the devs will be nice and it will stay / be enshrined because wand combat needs a little help i feel.
What do you think is missing? I've never used it, never saw the point doing wand being melee/staff Paladin-like. But I've seen recent build guides that say if you unlock the wand things it can super wreck things.
its ... ok.
so advantages - always have range, all the time for no "cost" (arrows/charge) - awesome.
Its ult has a suction action, which helps keep them off you.
It uses elemental damage which can be great for 'effective' hits easily
cons - yeah you can wear a tank chest but you are still loosing out on a lot of tankyness. its squishy. One on level fel with the big sword / mace takes about a 3rd to half of my health, and thats with the best health food i have access too. Unless you cross spec / have friends (lol) its rough
it uses elemental damage. I carry two wands to deal with resistances - that means twice the upgrade cost, twice the hope of finding a good item
there is something weird with its interaction with parry - the parry doesn't cancel out (any? enough?) of the animation time, so if you are even still barely in your attack animation you can't parry which feels terrible - which means you spend a lot of time either waiting around for them to hit so you can safely attack after a parry or dodging which uses a lot of stamina.
let's assume the staff is creating ult for the wand, and they will "fix" it once the staff ult is added... if a staff ult is added
now keep in mind im only level 20 and mostly through the highlands so ... maybe max level its fine and amazing and these pains will go away, but i kinda feel like those rough edges then should be smoothed out.
I am running a bow, dagger, and 1 handed melee build. I have points to spend but not sure where to place them now. Should I keep increasing melee area and does melee damage affect the dagger also? Or only the specific nodes that say daggers.
this is a loaded and confusing question
melee damage:
if STRENGTH? no (which is what the main attributes page is)
if RELATED to melee damage? (cutting, pierce) yes
but then there's also Dex, which is what affects daggers and... idk if it's even listed there
I kinda wish Daggers just benefitted from both strength and dex honestly
Yeah the devs have some confusing wording choices. Like "ranged", well, magic is ranged too, sooo.
yep
Probably choosing wording of "strength, dexterity, magic" and leaving those as the 3 types would have been clearer. Then things like 'melee' would affect, well anything melee, so daggers and 1hd/2hd.
At least there is the break-out page now. That makes things a teeny bit clearer... sort of... heh.
Does anyone even use beast master? That line doesn't seem to do anything for any weapons at all ...
Ok so is the magic damage only attributed to spells and wands? Or will this affect magic fire damage on my bow?????
works on your melee weapons too. been working on a warrior wizard and you can blend some things
for the beast master, wukah will not attack you and also on 50 meters rage they will protect ya, and animals will protect ya as well.
Just remember (haven't confirmed) but that's a number of a number. So in theory, a weapon that does like 50 piercing, +10 fire, +10 fire, and you had a +30% to fire node in the mage tree, that'd change to 50 +13 +13. Soooo... theoretically wouldn't bump it a huge amount.
You will only get focus from weapons that you have unlock the ultimate, you can get focus to use the Greatsword ultimate by using a pickaxe if you have the pickaxe skill 😂
yea, thats what i think. you could maybe gem it too for fire
Some melee weapons are split 50/50 with physical and elemental types
yes but as we were talking earlier, unlocking the Wand spec allows your staff to give you focus
bug or hidden feature remains to be seen
Except earlier we found that wand special unlock ALSO caused staff to generate ultimate.
I'd be nice if gems like that gave it an animation. I want flaming / frost swords. 🙂
weapon effects would be a hella awesome cosmetic
Kind of odd they don't, they just have glow - since enemies do have flaming swords
possibly just a 'hasn't been prioritized' yet
Could well be... who knows what 1.0 will bring
These were my findings as well :3
Reduces damage from blunt. I think I've heard armor is always a 1:1 ratio, so that's 30 less of blunt damage hitting you. (Unlocking both.)
Resistance to that damage type- iirc
Ah ... ok so that is good for me right?
in general yes
If you are getting hit with blunt, sure.
Getting hit by anything else, doesn't help, heh.
Those parts are pretty much just the filler stats - they're not really important to consider
Casters with the spinny blades are what wreck me. I'm guessing those are magic since I'm mostly melee and it's a way lower resistance rating.
It's like 'ya know, for a mostly tanky peep with like 20 con, nearly 2k hp buffed, I sure don't feel very tanky when things like that rip off 25% of my hp, then stun me, so I can't do anything about further hits'.
Sure, I can try and stun break blink dodge away and go 'shhhhtttapp' and try to boop back with ice shot, but nope, too slow, shuunk shuunk shunk, just circle knifed again.
Fell sicklesythes are just plain deadly to anyone not use to them
They're the toughest fell minibosses around
I meeeeannn I'm not new. Got to beyond max level back in the day. (Maxed, then grinded out to get more gold gear beyond that, probably had 250+ play hours over 1.5 years ago.) There are... more of them now. And there's ||some lizardy (females?) in the new water area who do it||, but it's like 'am I a tank build or not'?
It's like if they 1-2 shot non tank peeps then I'd feel better, but since I'm just me, I have no idea if it's 'my build' or not. I certainly can't be more defensive from what I can tell in the tree.
It's just what they do
They are a stab them before they stab you enemy
But if you pot objects between the blades and you they can miss for no stamina cost
hello! I've been trying to test my ranger build, and I know Arsonist increases my explosive arrows damange, but I've heard conflicting info about whether my elemental arrows damage such as eternal arrows and explosive arrows scale off of intelligence. Can someone please tell me which is correct?
is Fireball good for structural attacks like an exploding arrow is?
nah
as much as i can figure out - Melee is synonymous with 1h/2h sometimes daggers, ranged is bows only, and magic is staff/wand - i think they are mostly hard categories.
But i also dont think anyone knows 100% for certain
respecing is pretty cheap, you could just put a bunch of points into int and see if your damage changes from having 0 points in it vrs having points in dex
quick check with my archer's Eternal Ice Arrow 2, adding two points of INT did not change the damage
I've seen this miss info even perpetuated by "content creators". In Enshrouded there are many key words highlighted in the tree, Melee, Ranged, Magic. These refer to how they interact with talents. Elemental damage however has nothing to do with the Magic keyword, yes most spells do elemental damage. But take Arsonist for example, each rank increases Fire damage by 10%. Whether you had 9 Intelligence or 20 intelligence, an Explosive Arrow 3 does 38 Fire damage+3.8 additional per Arsonist rank. All the Elemental boosts are universal damage buffs to those specific Elements. However the bonuses to Cutting/Blunt and Piercing in the red trees are Melee only, so you couldnt boost your normal arrow damage with them. They do however boost things like Daggers, even though Daggers do not scale with Strength
yea I COMPLETELY understand
Is there a chance the developers will revisit the parry system? I think it's the most important thing to change in the game. Parry needs to reset the animations for each attack. Otherwise, the game becomes: 1) I stand still and wait for the enemies to attack. 2) I attack randomly and let the enemies hit me...
for the most part is the night sanctums just a entrance to a gem forge with a chest?
Some contain cosmetic sets etc
It's more like, you have to remember each enemies' attack pattern to be effective
No. Remembering every enemy's pattern works in a game like Space Marines, where I can attack mercilessly, knowing I can interrupt the attack animation at any time and parry. In this game, even if I see an enemy about to attack me, I can't parry if I'm already attacking another enemy. Knowing enemy animations in this game only works if you stand still and wait for the enemy to make the first move. It rewards passive play, but there's no point in rewarding it. It takes all the fun out of it.
furthermore, as if that wasn't enough, they included the move that allows you to throw a kick, and this kick instantly stuns the enemies (a hundred thousand times more effective than the parry. It makes no sense)
Ah this, yes I agree with
This gets solved by allowing anim-canceling for things like blocking and stopping the anim-cancel on being attacked
Speaking from experiance, the skill kick is NOTHING close to a good parry
even with max dex
How does the eternal frost arrows interact with magic damage?
Scroll up, I did a whole breakdown
Damn, what a shame. Could've been great for build diversity.
You can still lean into it
For 30% increased damage? When im still in early game? I don't think I will.
Hi. Doing the DpS swift swordsman for my character. Just something that bothers me. Sometimes I trigger a ”bonus strike” without clicking attack. It just comes during combat and I tend to lose control when this happens. Is this a bug or a feature?
That would be a feature that player don't like thus we would class as a bug.
Fill out a bug report and we can hope they adjust it
Hopefully this doesn't make me look too dumb, but what is a "bonus strike"? I am unfamiliar with that term. Was it a mechanic we added with update 8?
It does sound weird that something would be happening without user input, though
Sounds like the attack-"queuing" some people mentioned, where if you hit attack twice before the character actually attacked once it will do another attack.
Ah I see, the way they wrote, it sounded like attacks were happening with no input at all, but queued attacks would make more sense
100% this
Another question regarding bows. This weapon level bonus uses the term "Magic Shock Damage" would this be classed as magic damage?
That is covered above, but short answer is no
smh
alright thanks
If i didn't ask the question here, would i be stupid to assume it would scale with magic damage increases tho?
idk. It comes sometimes. I tap the mouse attack 1, 2 and I get attack 1 and 2 but then there is a 3rd "bonus" attack that I did not trigger with the attack click. DK how or why it triggers.
Yesterday I tried the special attack with the bow (the one that allows you to unleash a more powerful attack after several hits), but the bar never filled. It works with the one-handed sword and the magic wand, but not with the bow. Is this a known bug?
kind of obvious question but still gonna ask: do you have the Bow Specialization skill?
Guys, is there a way to find a better version of a weapon that is used to be found in the early areas? Like Wolf's Snarl Longbow or Forest Longbow but at lv 50?
i'd like to ask, its true that after update 8 the devs stated that kindlewastes armor set such as radiant paladin, elder, and eagle eye are obtainable from chest even in higher level regions. but when i try to farm for veilwater basin armor set especially for sunpiercer and golden bulwark because i'm a melee, the chest just continuously gives me kindlewastes armor set. does anyone experience the same thing or do i just have a bad luck?
Just bad luck. I haven't gotten any Veilwater melee sets but I have gotten Veilwater mage and ranger armor
Honestly, I barely find any Radiant Paladin either. Just unlucky.
in the current version of the game, can you make a build that tries to buff the magic damage on melee weapons? or did they revert that so the skill tree that buffs say shroud damage, doesn't increase melee weapon's shroud damage?
it's "all shroud/shock/fire/ice".
It is not restricted to spells-only.
so just as an example, like with this weapon, the shroud damage +5.3, +5.3, should be buffed by the 'Dark Arts' skill tree node? does it just not display in the backpack UI?
or like does this node, increase the 'Magic Damage', on the melee weapon above? or it won't any only buffs weapons that are classified as 'Magic Weapon'?
The "Dark Arts" skill will increase the shroud damage of your sword, but intelligence will not, the same occurs with STR and dagger, the only attribute that increases the dagger damage is DEX.
yea, it's still bugged for intelligence but we're waiting some big fix around this part of the game in 1.0
Ok cool, thank you. Nothing seems to affect the damage numbers that display in the backpack UI, so I am really confused what is intended by the devs.
i.e. I tested getting these nodes individually, and even with all of them placed, the damage display is still the exact same:
I spent the skill points needed to unlock the bow's special ability. The one that allows you to fire the special shot after a certain number of shots. It's the same thing I did with the one-handed weapon and the magic wand.
Just wanted to be sure. The only other thing I can suggest is that you have to HOLD the button to fire the bow's special shot, in my experience. I dunno what else might causing trouble.
I test this stuff with a practice dummy, the Hunter can craft them. There's also a couple at Longkeep, right near where you're supposed to build your first Flame Altar. I find the backpack UI... and the UI in general, such as under the "All Attributes" button... isn't always the most informative
ive been saying the same thing - its particularly grevious with the wand which animation seems to continue longer than the actual swing (maybe including part of the projectile leaving) making it very difficult to parry if you arent careful
perfectly makes sense if there is a portion of the animation that cant be interrupted - the middle bit - but canceling out early and near the end would be a huge upgrade to the entire combat system
Fishing Mechanics: Does your luck wear down the more you fish? I've been getting 95% only common fish with Epic Bait (the crafted one) and Lucky Rod, thought maybe it's bugged so I switched to simply Frogs as bait, then got about 5 epic Fish in the first like 50 throws, after that again to absolutely no epic fish for 100+ throws, all just common ones
I'm pretty sure the weapons are NOT displaying passive tree or equipment boosts.
So, like on your example if you had +30% shroud damage that should show +6.89 (ideally green or something so we know it's boosted.) Or if you've built into melee and have +15% cutting, that'd be 30.5 instead of 26.5. In my respecing a few times I've never seen any of the numbers change based on passive perks or bonuses from equipment.
The displayed number will never change. Except from its own upgrades. However it’s absolutely boosted by any relevant talents
thx all, tested on the training dummy, all of the traits are boosting the damage aside from intelligence points that boost magic damage (this has no affect on the magic damage of the sword; not sure if that is intended or not)
The weapon damage is just elemental damage, not specifically magic
Ah okay well they need to change the wording on the weapon UI then, it specifically says 'Magic Shroud Damage'
And on the intelligence pop-up UI it says 'Magic damage', so how it's currently worded I would assume it should affect that.
Yeahhhh, lot of that with the game 😅
yeah best as i can figure out elements (Fire, ice, blunt, pierce, slash, lightning, shroud) are different from weapon type damage (1h/2h = Melee - sometimes includes daggers?, Ranged = bows (not staff, not wands) and Magic = staff and wands)
but very much agree its ambiguous and confusing
Wait, so things like Fire or Ice on a weapon will NOT get boosted by the +Fire or +Ice % magic boosts in the magic area?!?!
As far as I understand it - those things DO boost, but things that boost Magic damage DON'T boost those elements on non magic weapons
Yeah, they really shouldn't have used "melee, ranged, and magic" for the descriptors on that. It gets super confusing. (Like is not magic also ranged? 🤔 Yes, yes it is.)
Yeah it definitely needs a lot of refining and clarity
"evasion attack" says it does more damage than your normal auto, but i swear to god and i don't know if i'm going crazy but not using it does more damage
It probably means more damage than if you hadn't attacked at all, and is just worded poorly
Does anyone find the tuning on Shroud Stalkers ridiculous?
Even with 2k HP, nearly all heavy armor, all tanky skills at max: a single attack = dead on Hard Mode. They are pretty brutal even on normal.
Trying to guage if I am missing something or this is just a case of "get gud" and not get hit at all and/or read the very vague telegraphs to parry?
If you’re talking about their cannonball dive or bite. Yeah they’re just kinda supposed to be like that
It’s either I frame with your dodge of choice
Or parry
On Hard Mode even a normal attack kills one shot for me. Okay, I can accept that they added a mob that is that deadly. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that couldn't take hits from it...even with all my tanky-ness.
Zero-mistake mobs are rough.
I play on basically on the hardest difficulty with max enemy density. But also max xp gains and 1 to 1 rune breakdowns so you’re not just hoarding runes but actually upgrading while progressing
The only thing you don’t want to to touch is attack frequency
That combined with max density is a nightmare

I am sure it would be. thanks for the feedback!
I think shroud stalkers actually hit harder then Hydrak Dal
Because their bite strips all buffs

Rly?
It used to, unless it changed this patch
So bye bye food buffs
And you’d lose them in the same instance of taking damage
So you’d just
💥
ain't no way
Lol. I agree. Still a lot of fine tunning to do.
It's not double, but I can confirm that it does more damage. Just tested on a training dummy and a level 25 fell commander
Is hybrid melee and magic build possible?
definitely, although not necessarily the most rewarding of playstyles
there is a magic focused sword that has mana leech on it and is clearly for a "staff + 1H melee" combo
Oh may I know what that sword is? And mind if I ask what you mean be rewarding? I’m guessing damage wise?
I was thinking of greatsword + staff/wand tbh
I am unaware if there's a great sword that is good for magic players honestly, but the sword I was thinking of was "Major Arcana" or technically even "Minor Arcana" can be good too now with a staff
swapping between wand and sword may be a bit challenging though, as they're both hot-bar weapons
Dang there goes my 2h wielding magic knight fantasy
Morningdew greatsword has double mana leech, but also has backstab and piercing so it's not great
to be fair, I am just not a great sword user, there's also a lot of new ones in this most recent update, lol
Greatsword is pretty skill point heavy though, doesn't pair that well with magic
there easily could be at least one that is great for you, but I don't know any off the top of my head...
but Major Arcana and Minor Arcana have been in the game since like... first release, lol
1H also has rune apprentice/master with the double mana leech
oh yeah, those are somewhat new but definitely mage-focused
That is true that it is skill point heavy, but being a hybrid kind of really forces you to make sacrifices
Yeah Sword n Board just pairs better, because you can use staff as the primary big damage weapon
whereas greatsword is already the primary weapon
I was really leaning more on greatsword as primary and staff as secondary
Where you butter em up using the staff at ranged
there's main/primary weapon, and a ranged weapon...
primary great sword or primary 1H weapon... it works however, you can probably even do daggers and staff, but "mage ranged" is usually the staff
my only question is "great sword and wand"
cause that'd be hard to swap between those two
Up to you to try it, but I can see it being too heavy a skill point investment and losing utility
I’ve tried wands and don’t want to use em, I prefer staff
feels like half the time my wand tries to target the thing far away it can't reach, instead of the bugs or wolves nibbling on my delicious ankles
The skill points on armor is new to update 8 right?
Then it might actually be possible to sacrifice a skill point or 2
I run Greatsword and Bow - I just put enough points into bow to make it useable on the few targets I need it for - has the plus of gaining extra crit in that tree area
That sounds like a fun ranger from lotr type of build
I think I have like 50% crit with the greatsword - and I have 42% extra sprint speed
Are eternal spells still crafted, or can they be found? Cause my alchemist doesn’t display the option to craft em
Some are crafted, others found
it depends on the spell and your progression
and once you find an eternal spell, that specific one is craftable, for instance the "eternal ice spell" you get very early on
There's a whole quest chain in veilwater for like 4 or 5 of them
Kindlewastes I think unlocks a couple eternal spells too, but only craftable
I’m trying to get eternal fireball and shock if there is
Though I don’t even know where to start looking for them
just be warned, higher level eternal spells cost more mana
try to keep your spells around your level, otherwise you won't be able to use them hardly at all, lol
Yeah i’m looking for the level 1 one, I haven’t seen them at all the eternal versions
Just the ice one
early game ones require the spells as ammo, minus the ice one
and the higher level ones, even if you got them... if you're in the early game, you couldn't cast them cause they cost too much mana
Have you got bronze bars yet?
No actually, i’m not even sure where to get them
Only copper so far is the highest i’ve seen and I live in the nomad highlands atm
I think bronze bars might be the trigger to unlock the recipe - which is copper, tin and charcoal
Hmm i’ll look for bronze first then
I haven't played the new updated version of the early game, so no idea what normal progress looks like now
it's mostly the same
except grindy
some things are better, some things are worse, and some things are...
Is there any good way to build for both 1h melee/shield and staff? (In my long range slot)
I won’t be splitting too much? Just trying to figure out how many skill points I should expect to be working with
dual-classing definitely makes you split skill points, no avoiding that
but you can still try to be Sword + Shield, with Staff as a range...
sadly though
mages aren't... quite balanced yet?... they take a lot of skill points to be good
early game mage is terrible
just... abysmal...
but revelwood they get okay...
nomad highlands they get good... and uh... idk about after that... I am still playing a mage for the "kind of first time"
Yeah I feel like just pewing with a wand for a big chunk of my first playthrough would be pretty boring when I could just be mercilessly attacking instead
Imho update 8 made them a little bit better. Fireball is a bit more effective now, due to bigger AoE range.
I haven't played springlands mage since last update, so I am glad it got a little better... I have heard there were improvements, but I have found myself in weird spots where things just... don't work
it sucks if you get hit while trying to change spells, it disables your staff and makes you scroll on your hotbar instead
How far do I need to get to get access to the first staff spell?
Oh yeah I already had it where I was scrolling from my wand back to the staff, and accidentally switched my spell by scrolling to much.
You just need a couple resin, for the fire bolt
the first staff spell just requires Resin
Next stuff at the Alchemist.
So if you play Mage, get the Alchemist asap
chop trees with red leaves, or apparently "dead trees" now drop resin too, the ones with no leaves, outside of shroud
Okay, I found a little from a chest but haven’t found a reliable way to get it yet
Ooh okay
So it’s super easy to get that then
you can craft the firebolt on your own through survival crafting too, similar to wooden arrows
fireBall will require the Alchemist, go obtain him and he'll give you access to more spells
Trying to decide if I want to build up Strength or Intelligence now
As mage you definetly want Intelligence.
Intelligence even before Willpower, because a little bit more damage means the enemy might be dead in two Firebolts instead of three.
you'll also want "Rising Fighter" chest armor
mage or melee, rising fighter chest armor
What? I've gone with legendary mage chest shirt.
That one is good, in terms of skill points.
you need the defense, and you need the health, and you need the health!!
I’m between 1h melee/shield and staff
The parrying is kinda fun
did you do the first hollow hall in springlands gear?
it was... so hard... as a mage
No not yet. Last time I did was update 7. But I did it in mage gear and nothing else.
I put 2 points into Constitution back then for some 75 more hitpoints.
Was possible back then, and I didn't really got hit by the skeletons anyways. But when I got in there I was like level 8 and had a legendary mace as backup weapon.
wait a second...
legendary... MAGE or Alchemist Apprentice?
Alchemist shirt, that one on level 5, the very first one
but... that doesn't come in legendary... does it?
Tbf, I did the first hollow halls at lvl 5 or 6 solo using a bow and good positioning, it's definitely possible it's just a slog
Took like 2 hours almost
hello where can i find a skill tree for battlemage. everything resetted after the update and cant find one on the internet
Hi everyone, I play in Italian, and an ability I unlocked said that my health points would double based on my strength points. Along the way, I unlocked 2 strength points and found myself with +7 HP... far from doubling. Does anyone know if it was translated incorrectly?
I believe its 2 HP per 1 Str
But I haven't seen many strength points to add. How does it work? As the character levels up, his strength increases, and at a certain point he gets enough HP to make sense?
Curious Why do you think it's hard to swap? I swap between two wands all the time (fire for wolfs, ice for scavengers)
There are various nodes in the talents that give +1 str. You also get +1 to all attributes for each flame upgrade (the middle option in the altar that takes a lot of materials)
So Fell enemies (and not the scavengers and the reptile folks) are the ONLY enemies that would be affected by the radiant aura ... correct? If that is the case why would anyone waste points to get that since you only do fell enemies in the shroud and half this game is outside the shroud. confused as to why they put stuff like that in the tree for specific areas. Kind of like the beast master one which is specifically more generated to an area of time.
yes it's true
i take it because it's fun popping the beetles just by running around, but it isn't super good i agree
if I upgrade golden bulwark shield, is the (for instance) +19 Cutting Armor a passive stat for just equipping it? I'm using 2h weapons so any shield/ward would essentially just be a stat/skill stick
I find that the All Attributes button in UI is not all that accurate or informative, so sometimes I just have to wonder
ya gonna let some enemies hit me
Naw you gotta activly block for the resistance to apply
So the shield has to be in active use.
it seems not
think it's working even if just holding 1h
257 vs 297 hits
Does not work with 2h weapons tho, since you dont actually have it "in active use" with those
right
yeah, I tried it and no go, but at least it still gives a bonus to Power Parry skill
Because it's fairly easy to respec.
I respec out of resources gathering and into combat for various bosses, I put that skill on when doing shroud gathering. Likewise I have a wand just for clearing the Hollow.
Lots of talents aren't useful everywhere but there are what, 160 some talent points? It's fairly easy to get everything in a tree you want for a specific task
I do wish there was some sort of built in preset save for talent trees you could switch between easily, like at the flame for a rune cost
A gear load out would be nice, make swapping between stuff like swimming/diving more convenient
respec would be nicer if loadouts were a thing
You can kinda do a gear load out change with the manikins
haha yea i have all this gear on my hotbar and it's so annoying clicking through it all
You can swap all your armor off one
Not as nice as a proper system but you know. Something
Yeah but no good "in the field"
I ended up crafting another diving helmet to use as a light source cosmetic so I didn't have to keep taking it off cosmetic, then swapping helmets just to dive for like 2 minutes...
Yeah I agree.
would be cool if we could have equipment per weapon, so just swap weapon and gear changes along with it
Tho also it's pretty easy to carry a spare altar and just jump back home most places (obviously some limitations.... Damn deep hollow crypts...
i know i have the wand v staff stuff that i never actually use
could link the swimming gear to some weapon
that mining helm to pickaxe
I was actually surprised there wasn't a water weapon like a harpoon gun considering all the other stuff
I donno I do think some friction is a good thing, otherwise it's "optimal" to farm up several sets of gear and just switch weapons on the fly all the time
But like at the altar would make sense for talent spec changing to me
one oddity is I'd like to be able to equip a weapon in a separate slot like I equip a bow. Which would make gear loadouts easier, too; just swap the entire gear loadout. Loadout tabs or something
I don't find that much difference between that and weapons in slot 1 and 2 of my hotbar
🤷♂️ to each their own i suppose, i like the mix/matching of gear and trying to optimize
not necessarily to make the game easier, just for the sake of options i think
I do too but make it so "easy" to swap around makes it less reason to focus. 🤷 one of those weird design philosophy choices I guess
Yeah I dont mind a lack of "class" swapping- gives you a reason to play more from a business standpoint as well
But basic gear loadouts for like a mining set, diving set etc would be useful
Hey, I have not played for a bit but we are starting a new Coop run. Is Wand durability still lacking?
Would also make adding a weapon vanity system much easier imo
The only issue I have with that method is potentially it could become cumbersome to swap between holding a weapon and being unarmed which would make Begone! even more niche and possibly unusable
I’ve posted a template version of what I use, and I can clear the content in my world easily
Which is hard difficulty with max enemy density
But you actually have to ya know? Play the game. So dodging and creating space etc
If you get the renewable talent and maybe a bonus to it on the wand it's ok
Is there no benefits to Strategic Maneuver if you don't use lockon?
Is Nemesis working now? would be nice for Co Op play
I believe that's correct
I haven't looked at the settings, but I'm pretty sure there's tweakable durability.
durability for wands is still as, however there are some early on skils that lets you get +1 per skillpoint of durability per kill, and i think the mage shields all also give a point in that. and durability is also tweakable in the settings but that counts for all tools and weapons not just wands
Did dagger kick get removed with the addition of the kick skill? Or have I just forgotten how to do a dagger kick?
u have forgotten how to dagger kick
Hey ho, does anyone have a good Ranger-Skillguide? I've just started and lvl 11 now 🙂
just so I understand, I currently have 970 health, and for the low low price of 2 skil points, I can get....12 more?!!?!?
If your Strength is 6
Isn't exactly a talent I'd want to get early
Even late game, they’re grossly inefficient
A single point of Constitution is 50 points
To even rival that, you’d need atleast the second level of Athlete and 20+ points
Which is now 4 times the investment of a point of constitution
Grab 4 constitutions atp
I'd only ever pick them up if they're on the way to something else or if I had extra points and nothing better to use them with... And that's never the case. I dunno who came up with that idea and thought "yeah, that's a great use of points that they could totally use elsewhere"
this 2 weapons not the same name but the enchantment are same?
The golden one is the legendary version of the blue one (rare rank)
Remnants of the gear changes - there's a bunch of them now that are just identical and go to legendary
Some have slightly different base damage types, but several are just identical
gold one can also get to level 50, whcih the blue one cant
and a pretty decent more durability
which may not be relevant to your question i realize now :p
The way it used to be, is that most weapons had a similar looking variant, that had the same enchantments, one version was available in Epic and Legendary form, and the other one was Common, Uncommon and Rare. Now all weapons go up to legendary, and the devs have already swithed some weapons out for new ones, for example, "Flail of Misery" has been replaced with an axe, while "Spine Splitter" has been redisigned in appearance. My guess is more weapons will either get new appearances, or they'll just be replaced alltogether with a different weapon.
@mossy ridge ok ok they just cloned a better looking weapons with same stats lmao
Yeahhhh, hopefully they change things around for 1.0 to add more variety
Why are daggers so damn useless in this game? It literally takes 3-4 hits to take out one of the little critter bugs, and I can only hit one at a time. If they were single target with huge damage to offset that, they would make sense, but the way they are, not really worth using them. Bows also suffer from the same problems, their only redeeming factor is that you can grind till your mind melts and use exploding arrows, otherwise good luck spending half an hour to clear out a group of enemies. The dex weapons feel like nothing but an afterthought, with the bows being kind of necessary to take out like, 3-4 enemies in the game that can't be meleed.
level 52 item? O.o
known bug - they reset to 50 max if you upgrade them and relog
As someone building a sort of arcane archer at the moment. The damage is absolutely not the problem for bows. The issue is that you need to abandon the standard arrows in favor of the Eternal ice Arrow 2, and stack as much elemental bonuses as possible and use gem of currents. Because then you’re doing 100% increased damage. And then the second is the resources for explosive arrows as you pointed out. However if you had eternal versions, I’d argue they’d be absolutely broken. Considering they can stun on hit for 2 seconds with the talent. They have cascading damage and as an unintended benefit, because they mine out the ground you can break enemies pathing abilities
I do believe that resource expenditure is not a healthy way to balance a thing, and Bow should have more eternal element arrows
As well as eternal explosive arrows, but not just fire. I’d like to see gas cloud arrows etc
I strongly disagree about the daggers however
The mistake many people make is thinking if you just take green tree talents, that they’re feature complete
You need to go down into the red tree to pick up the physical damage multipliers for cutting/piercing. Then veteran/battle heal, breach and all that goodness. With the right set up, daggers can have basically an instant merciless attack
And incredible DPS
Pretty much all of the flame level based, and other things which aren't "spend 1 point to get 1 strength/dexterity/endurance/magic" are not worth it until you are basicaly 100% out of the 1-1 options.
Yeah, but at that point I can just go for another onehanded or 2 handed weapon that scales with the stuff from the red trees, so why would I waste points into the dagger tree? I might be doing something wrong, but the daggers take like 20 hits to kill a scavenger. And Im outleveling said scavenger by 5 levels.
Stun bar gets filled in maybe 15 hits, if they block that much, but usually they block for a second and then power through my attack and stun me with their hits.
For that you can take the kick
very useful
Sure I could, but the problem of getting swarmed still remains. Usually I just jump around and levitate while shooting explosive arrows, the daggers are mostly an afterthought if there are maybe 1 or 2 enemies left, because against getting swarmed, the daggers can't do anything. I've been killed by bugs multiple times.
it would be great to have the same spinning attack of the 2 h weapon
You have a maximum of 184 points. You shouldn’t just limit yourself to just one tree. A mage build still absolutely wants desert stomach and the tank tree nodes for extra durability. You asked about how to make daggers better, that’s how
I was mainly ranting about how useless they feel to me. Yeah I got 184 points, by the time Im max level and deplete all current content, at which point there is no reason to fight, only focus on base building and beautifiyng the world. Question is, why would I ever go with a dagger, when the red tree perks I have to pick for daggers also improve 1 handed weapons, which do more damage than the daggers do, AND they got horde control being able to hit multiple enemies?
Challenge ? Fun ?
They are trash, yeah, but it is then that you can developp your own skills
And you also have to think that they will probably get buffed at some point to make them reliable
I wouldn't say its fun to kite enemies around until you can finally get 2-3 on their own so you stand a chance to take them down painstakingly with dozens of hits. Did I mention I play with max amount of enemies? Yeah, I guess that one is on me, but still, melee and mage builds outclass dagger and bow builds by miles.
Kick them
Poison them
honestly the venom mechanic of daggers should be enabled by the final perks of assassin tree, and replace the venom perks on weapons with something more useful
result: every dagger has now more damage on average, gives the fantasy of daggers being a rogue/poison thing, and venomous blades perk doesn't compete with others as a simple enabler by itself and nothing else
Wait, those poison skills only work if my daggers actually have poison damage?
yes
i mean no, not even poison damage, it needs the specific perk "venomous blades"
Wow, they look even more trash now. Plus pretty much everything ingame resist poison
heretics resisting poison damage always felt like a massive "screw you" tbh lol
Honestly, I think daggers should become this great weapon that lets you take down bosses and bypass the armor of armored enemies, to give a use for them. A niche single target weapon. Now they are just a useless single target weapon. Bows are kind of OK I guess, if you go explosive and elemental, otherwise its a hard NO as well.
What are heretics? The scavengers?
yea
like i said, the biggest potential of clearing groups as daggers is using poison, as there is this kinda fantasy of fast hitting multiple enemies as they slowly get poisoned to death while you dodge and parry around fast and quick
but then, the perk only works if you have a specific dagger that has a specific perk, and forces you to use those specific daggers
the potential exists, but the devs are kinda not allowing it, idk why
Is the nemesis skill working?
I feel like it's not doing anything
(purely anecdotal though, no idea if it's doing stuff in the background, or maybe it's poorly explained?)
Game seems to crash on me when I use the explosive arrows.... Anyone else having this problem?
It does this consistently, it slows down, stutters, then if I fire some more arrows it crashes.
Bows are for pulling elites
I’ve monitored my fps when I use them against large groups
It can seriously drop your FPS by 30-40
Because it’s lots of particle effects
Numbers
And terrain deformation
Yeah, you can do that with them without investing a single point into them. So the existence of bow specific skill trees and stats should mean that the devs intent them to be useful on their own as well. Or at least I hope so.
you get enough points to multiclass quite deep
While fishing I notice that the percentage of catching certain fish with certain bait was not matching up with what I found online. So I did a little study with Epic bait, Rare bait, Frogs, Scarabs, Pillbugs. I did 100 casts with each bait, each time and after 50 casts I went abck home briefly to get fully rested. If I hooked a fish I always couahg tit. There were no lost fish that would skew the data. I first did 100 casts at a lake east of the Fishing Island in Veilwater basin. The lake did not have a fishing circle. From 100 cast using crafted Epic Bait I caught 25-Shimmerfin, 37-Lakehopper, 3-Silverback, 12-Sunscale, 9-Stripetail, 1-Whiskerfin, 0-Crimsonback, 1-Emberfin, 2-Shadowtail, 1-Waveleaper, 0-Shockfin, 2-Thornridge, 1-Yellowfin, 6-Trash loot pulls. So 3% of my catches pulled in a EPIC fish using crafted EPIC bait which is supposed to be 29% for each epic fish. But as you can see that was not the case. Then I went to the Fishing Island in Veilwater Basin with the fishing circle and did another 100 casts. I did 100 casts like before used Crafted Epic bait again and I caught 24-Shimmerfin, 27-Lakehopper, 9-Silverback, 3-Sunscale, 7-Stripetail, 3-Whiskerfin, 2-Crimsonback, 0-Emberfin, 1-Shadowtail, 0-Waveleaper, 0-Shockfin, 2-Thornridge, 1-Yellowfin, 21-Trash loot pulls. So again the catught percentage of Epic fish using crafter EPIC bait was again 3% but with alot more trash pulls, so even less fish. This made me even more curious. So I used 100 Frogs this time at the Fishing Island and did 100 casts again. I caught 33-Shimmerfin, 22-Lakehopper, 6-Silverback, 4-Sunscale, 5-Stripetail, 7-Whiskerfin, 0-Crimsonback, 2-Emberfin, 1-Shadowtail, 1-Waveleaper, 3-Shockfin, 1-Thronridge, 3-Yellowfin, and 12 trash loot pulls. I actually got slightly better results with just frogs as you can see but percentages are not falling inline with what's posted with just Frogs either. I will post the number but 100 Rare bait, Scarabs and Pills bugs, they too are not matching.
To add to my previous post. I crafter 100 Rare bait and again did 100 casts at the Fishing Island in Veilwater Basin. I caught 28-Shimmerfin, 27-Lakehopper, 4-Silverback, 5-Sunscale, 2-Stripetail, 2-Whiskerfin, 2-Crimsonback, 6-Enberfin, 2-Shadowtail, 2-Waveleaper, 2-Shockfin, 1-Thornridge, 0-Yellowfin, and 17 trash loot pulls. Again my data not not matching up with what's post online. I kept going and did 100 casts of Scarabs. I caught 35-Shimmerfin, 33-Lakehopper, 3-Silverback, 5-Sunscale, 4-Stripetail, 0-Whiskerfin, 2-Crimsonback, 1-Emberfin, 0-Shadowtail, 1-Waveleaper, 2-Shockfin, 2-Thornridge, 0-Yellowfin, and 12 trash loot pulls. Again not matching. I did one last study on pillbugs. Again I used 100 pillbugs and did 100 casts and I caught 26-Shimmerfin, 37-Lakehopper, 3-Silverback, 4-Sunscale, 8-Stripetail, 2-Whiskerfin, 1-Crimsonback, 1-Emberfin, 0-Shadowtail, 5-Waveleaper, 1-Shockfin, 1-Thronridge, 1-Yellowfin, 10-Trash loot pulls. Again not matching with the data percentages online. Hopefully someone sees this and looks into the fishing bait percentages cause somethings isn't adding up.
Does battle heal work with daggers??
Any talent that says Melee will work with daggers
Unless it calls out specific words
Like one handed melee
Or two handed
So Battle heal
Veteran
Crash down
Etc
Thank you ...

Had an idea that I'd love to see for bows and daggers (since they're more single-target):
Skill point called Toxic Fumes: Poisons you inflict (with Critical Hits?) are also inflicted on enemies in a X meter radius from the poisoned target
this is an example of a discord post that should be a google sheet
Is it normal to need 7105 exp for level 9 to 10?
heyo peeps, question.
Why 2 handed weapons hit so much compared to wands ? or is it just me and i'm crazy
in terms of DPS
not just 1 hit
my buddy can remove enemies in seconds, while me, well, it takes a while
And the "ultimate" or idk how the R focus skills are called, i just call them ult.
The wand one has almost no AoE (kinda misses a lot or it gets bugged)
meanwhile my buddy can 1 shot or do like 3/4 hp dmg
plus, the 2hand weapons get a ton of focus per swing
What’s currently better? Board and blade or 2 hand?
Two questions:
- does upward slash have more closing power when I actually have a target?
- Does Grounding Hook work with any flying enemy? Barring that damn Dragon, of course.
Yes, to both. But the latter doesn’t actually ground them. Just pull them closer to the ground
Wands per projectile don’t hit as hard as the per swing damage of a two handed. However wands can have multiple projectiles firing off with the right wand and talents. Which also builds focus very quickly. Wands also have incredibly high sustained damage, and with sting only gets stronger. They do have less AoE, but with things like chain hit and mass destruction it can add up very quickly
Because melee is privileged in all games
And because wands particularly in this game are trash
It’s funny you say that, because 9/10 times when someone is complaining about the fell dragon
It’s a melee build
Despite being clearable very easily without any changes to their build
parry the fire balls with your shield and use the bone arrows
And its the only fight in the game when melees get to complain
And yea u can parry them
Its just many melee players dont learn to parry, because they are fine without it
I mean there are the witch
they are closer to the ground than before but it's still a pain in the but to defeat them with a melee build
They dont count as flying enemies eligible to hook grab?
with how fast focus is gained the special is easily the best AOE
while it does take 2-3 "swings" to take down most enemies if level'd appropriately, its about the same time length as 2hers swings so i feel the dps is similar - but im not max level yet so maybe that changes.
But most fights im already 3/4ths refilled on the focus bar before my first special runs out.
I will also note, that if you’re building towards frost, but especially shock. You can do an easy 100% increased damage with the gem of currents and specific gear choices
I’m not downplaying two handed strength and focus generation. But wand can generate focus incredibly fast as well with how many hits each attack generates
Now in a pure AoE contest with just wand, it is reliant on talents and its focus attack for AoE
But if you factor staff into it, it’s not even close
Ya, I noticed that fishing was broken awhile back, I have made SURE to let the devs know, they are aware, but I have no idea if or when things will be patched. :S hopefully in the next one......
You can hook the wraiths and banshees - you can't hook the big jellyfish things down, that'll pull you up which will put you under them and damage you
i think lightning wands have more projectiles than normal and still i don't get enough focus compared to my guy with some miserable swings
and the extra projectiles is like 30% i think, it's not that much tho :c
the lightning thing is a good AoE but remember it's only in crits and it's what, 30% or not even that of my actual hit :c
compared to a smack of a big sword and bam, 300 dmg xD
ye, the attack moveset of wand is pretty sad
specially now that the skill we have bugs all the time and deals no dmg at all 🤣
It depends on if the wand has innate mulishot, and while it’s true that chain hit and mass destruction are on crit effects. If you’re using Gem of currents and Circlet of lightning. You have around 50% crit chance. And that’s per projectile
me just started midgame tho
i barely have a wand 🤣
That’s fair, I’m evaluating it based on what it can do
best gem i've saw dropped, was the shroud one from the dementors
Ty for the update.
Anybody got a good skilltree suggestion for Ranger focus with one handed axe/sword build?
Hi.
Does the skill "Fatal Precision" (ranger tree) work with magic attacks (like magic staff or others) ?
What is the "best" gem for a staff?
the "problem" with this question is that... it really depends on so many factors, there isn't really a "meta" for this game.
Some gems are worthless on a staff though, so I'm just trying to see what is even viable
it depends on what staff, what spells, and what play style you want to go with... the humble and simple "gem of burning" in the early game.. paired with fireball or light burst, could potentially be amazing
I'm only using chain lighting or lightning channel
then likely the gem of storm's eye
Question: If I have 3/3 "Heavy Plate", and then I get a piece of armor that gives +1 Heavy Plate, do I end up with 4/3 Heavy Plate skill? Or should I reskill to 2/3 (+1).
The tool tip seems to indicate the latter.
It give the bonus
it'd be 4/3
I have armor/rings that gets me to 5/3 and 20% DR
Afaik, you overcap bonuses
#facepalm. Never mind, I get it now. It's not a "Heavy plate" bonus, it's a "shiny plate" bonus, and that is indeed 3/3+1.
Yes, as it’s universal crit chance
My go to Gems are Burning, Storms Eye and Currents
If you’re leaning into shock/frost, Currents is imo the best
Extra damage procs and a 30% increase to those damage types
Thx 😉
Yes, gear allows you to exceed what you can put in in terms of points into the skill tree.
any archer ?
Question about health regen: does it continue through damage taken, or does damage interrupt it?

i think by the description and similar mechanics (mana/stamina regen) it does get interrupted
Shame. Thank you.
It's really never going to be significant enough to notice.
As a tank build, taking nearly every strength and con point, with effectively nothing in Intelligence, picking up the base level of Water aura effectively doubles your regeneration speed.
A base level bandage will do FAR more to recover HP than both of those combined.
It's mostly a flavor thing for me so to speak. But thank you.
If you want to do it you'd need to do tank/battlemage and invest heavily into healing increases and probably use magic weapons instead of a sword
At least for it to be effective
Somewhat
That's what I'm saying. It's not. With nearly max Str/Con, you could completely remove my HP regeneration rate and it wouldn't even be noticible becuase it's that low compared to every other source of healing.
Which is not what it should be with someone who has nearly max Str/Con.
Thoughts on strategic maneuver vs blink for 2h melee? I have trouble ignoring blink because of emergency blink, but I wonder if SM would improve my melee experience. My main is a ranger, so this is a change of pace for me.
SM is how roll worked before U8 and I preferred it infinitely to blink even with emergency blink
What weapon can i get that helps me get to the Capital
I'm wanting to do a sandbox mode run and want to get all of the best gear
Blink all the way for me personally - I'd probably only take SM on a backstab build
Strategic Maneuver feels pretty useless to me imho. Due to iFrames you can just dodge roll forward to get behind the enemy to get some bonus damage in.
If you fight without the lock in, you don't really need it.
Yeah it really doesn't have any effect if you're not using lock-on
https://hacktheminotaur.com/enshrouded/ultimate-enshrouded-tank-build/ just wondering if anyone followed this build. and if it worked for you or not.
anyone can explain to me wetdog and soaked dog?
There are 2 debuffs called wet and soaked that damage your stamina regeneration and ice/shock resistances when applied - those skills lessen the effects of the debuffs
hmm it can apply soak and wet to enemies? but how can you get wet often even your not around in a puddle of water
There are ways to apply it to enemies such as water balloons or the water pump - but it's typically applied to the player via the rain or swimming
we got those water grenades? ok ok gona make a build using 50% physical/electric weapon variants
One of the main endgame meta builds is by soaking yourself and enemies and using the gem of currents for a load of extra shock damage
How does Blink work? I can't figure out the key in combat that lets me use that skill.
not sure if i'm better off running bow or 1h+shield now? which is generally better after updates?
How can I find out which is the best wand currently available?
I currently have a level 40 mythical wand, but it's too weak for my enemies.
45/50 upgraded to 50/50 Legendary is the highest tier level of gear
"Best" is going to depend on the build
I'd be so much less salty about this if it weren't for the fact that I can't tell the difference between Yellowfin and SilvERBACK
I don’t get it.. Is greatsword damage bugged or something?
My greataxe and gs have the same damage stats and yet my axe does more damage despite the additional 15% boost of titant edge
I've seen some debate over whether another skill that should boost all 2H damage actually affects GS
Ah you mean barbarian’s path? It should affect it since gs is classified as a 2 hander
It should be a bug if it didn’t affect it at all
I'm terrible with names, but that's probably the one
I've seen it get brought up a few times now - people saying it doesn't seem to work, or they can't quite tell
guys i wonder if i unlock both the "Blink" and "Strategic Maneuver" will my blink have iframe from the "Strategic Maneuver" skill?
It seems likely that it is bugged since the stats of my gaxe and gs are completely identical
And yet my gaxe dealt 505 while my gs dealt 342
tested, yea my blink have iframe now
From my understanding - it gets complicated when you start to factor in the different damage types and how they affect different enemy types
It sucks cause gs has slower attack animations compared to gmace or gaxe
You get staggered out before you hit your 2nd swing on gs a lot more
I'll have to try and remember to take a look myself later - see about adding/removing just the skill itself and see if it makes a difference to the dmg values
Patch notes suggest Blink should already have an iframe - "Dodge rolls and blink now have short time windows during which players are immune to damage, also known as i-frames. Fat roll enjoyers rejoice!"
ohhhhhhh
tysm anyways
(prefacing this to say, I am literally just venting, I don't want advice or be told git gud just let me vent and get it out of my system)
I HATE FELL SICKLESCYTHES. Period. THey're f***ing cringe, un-fun to fight, just not a good or fun or "challenging" enemy, I hate them. Delete them from the game. Thx.
You're right...
They should replace them with fell dragons... fell dragons everywhere... meteor fireballs raining down from the sky
I will say, not as a "git gud" message, but as just "hey you might not have known this"
you can parry their sickles that they throw... but it can cost a lot of stamina, and if you have "grounding hook" that lets you pull flying enemies to you, it does two things:
- lets you pull them to you (obviously
) - ...lets you see where they're going to teleport in from when they vanish

but I do agree that they are harder since the update
honestly I feel like the whole game got a little harder since the update?
like sure, we got new combat moves... but the heavy attack sucks cause it only hits ONE target, and often doesn't hit enemies, it will bonk on a tree or a plant or a literal corpse at your feet, and ignore the enemy in front of you...
and armor got... half nerfed, half buffed, but "wildlife" (wolves, ||boar, hyenas, snowleopards||) hit like a TRUCK now
ty
There’s definitely something wrong with gs, the damage is much lower vs the axe or hammer
Ok, Barbarian's Path DOES NOT increase Greatsword damage - tested on base rank weapons with the same gear, no barbarians path or titan edge and they have the exact same base damage on Greatsword and Greataxe
1 point in Barbarians path with +1 from gear for 10% extra damage increases the greataxe damage, but does NOT increase the greatsword damage
They need to fix that.. No wonder gs feels so underwhelming atm
They do however have the same base damages on the initial swing - I haven't tested further into the combo chains - but damage is identical between greataxe and greatsword on the first hit
That does mean both Paladin and Sunpiercer helmets provide no bonuses to greatsword builds for those skills
Yeah, we brought this to Toasts attention
Such a weird bug where it only affects the first hit and not the rest
Anybody got combat tipps for a newb?
I dont know what i want to play .. im kinda defaulting for a "Ranger" or "Rogue" build
Ok, cool
Well, spread those points out for now at least... cba trying to rework the build into something else, even if the helmet is basically only providing basic stats now
Early game - 1H and Shield is the easiest thing imo
Magic doesn't pick up until mid-late outside of just spamming wand, dagger and bow is an easy pairing, but can struggle against big mobs early on
So basically play tank till mid game ? xD
kind of... yeah 😅
1H n shield just has good AoE, attack speed and parry/block going for it "as is"
Everything else basically picks up later
AND leaves you defenseless for a full second after the animation ends AND doesn't do more meaningful damage than a jump attack or evasion attack with gem of agility...
Question about Arsonist, will it boost the damage of Counterstrike?
Yes
Elemental boosts are universal to any source of those elements
NOOO
why does it do this to me
No gifs for us peasants

Great, thank you. It read as if it did, but verification is nice to see
sad 😔
I’m here to help, I’ve especially taken to the build planning and answering questions

Thank you for your service
Guys do u think melee combat has to be improved?
I don't know about "has" to be improved, but there is room for improvement for sure.
It just feels very lacklustre compared to mages.
As a mage you have a large variety of skills. You can put points into Trickster, Wizard, Healer and Guardian, and have great benefits of all of them.
But playing a 2H weapon, you don’t benefit from the 1H skills and vice versa, half of the guardian stuff is just mana recovery and again more beneficial for mages. Athletics is just bad. All that’s left is to put points into survival and backstab damage.
I have played mage, archer and 1h and 2h melees. The melees are just not fun, their parry skills are not working against bosses. Was hoping that a good parry shockwave can stop a swarm of wolves, but it’s super unreliable.
Overall the melee experience sucks in this game.
the main build is the tank with leach on everything
that's kind off sad
Yes, but it’s boring af
Leech is anyway a very bad game mechanic, I’d would like to see it remove but have a reworked melee tree with useful skills, and most importantly being able to parry bosses. Also there should be a throwing tree for range strength damage, like Javelins.
Of course to stun a boss should require multiple parries, like in other games too. But so many skills just feel useless.
I would LOVE spears and trident
Yeah, absolutely
like the fell have SPEARS AND TRIDENT
I NEED them
you could make it like a dex / str
Throwing tree, with strength weapons for the range weapon (bow) slot, would save the strength build
and better use for the shield
cuz we all use 2 h mainly but poor shield are just here
while the magic shield gives bonus and they don't
I’d just love to have more of a Sekiro, Stellar blade or similar experience as a melee. Where I stand in the danger zone, but with good reaction, timing and skill, you have great reward.
But it just feels like a diablo 2 lifesteal barb.
True, like the guardin tree should also feature some shield strikes or something. Rather than mana regeneration.
I don't get the mana regen on a TANK
why ?
the only thing you can TRY to get is blink
and then its uprageds
it's cool and all but you don't need mana regen
or at least not now cuz we don't have any skill that requires mana on the mele tree
Also something I could imagine, like whirlwind or other skills should use mana instead of endurance.
Having no endurance after depleting your stamina on an whirlwind and not killing the enemy.
and it could be buffed through mana too
like there is stone and water magic but only for the god damn draks guy and mage
….
What’s also very frustrating, why do caster and archer foes have such a high poise? I’m hitting them with my axe and they continue casting like nothing happened.
could be nice to have more magic like wind and water then make str / int build
that's . . . real
again
like I get ONE shot by some guy with a mace when using my bow
but he be like, "nah I will tank"
Especially daggers
that is so valid
we get hit by a weak skeleton, and get hit-stun
but archers and stuff can be smacked with a giant mallet and be totally fine and keep shooting
Exactly this
I really hope melees will get some major reworks before release
I don't thing rework are needed but new skills definetly
That’s what I mean, just rework the strength trees.
personaly more weapon like throwables, spears and trident, and even a better ragdol when using 2h and contendent
Yeah, I'm playing 2H and my friend is playing mage. He can kill a large amount of enemies, and I suffer with 2 wolves 💀
Probably because a melee person could easily 'stun lock them' if they could be super easily interupted.
Ice Aura, blink out, Ice shot.
I just wish "Frozen" was actually a debuff that stacked until they were, you know, actually frozen.
Before U8, Greatsword could literally staggerlock enemies with regular swings. It almost wasn't fun
I wish melee attacks "Traded" more, where both parties take damage
finally my shock 2hand build is complete
feels like Blackmire was DEFINITELY not this obnoxious before lol.... falling in the black goop shouldn't be basically a guaranteed death sentence. Just annoying and "artificial difficulty"
there's a reason u dont see these things in soulsborne
I swear Tar got worse
you sink faster, have to jump more often, jumping takes way too much stamina... something, idk what
it felt like you could escape it before, now it's just "ugh, fine, I guess I am dead now, struggling to escape isn't real, it's a myth, it just makes death take longer"
well, un-worse it lol
Can somebody explain me the levels of jewels? I upgraded them till lvl 10 but the stats did not change? 🤔
like holy shit it wouldnt be so bad if the terrain around here didnt frickin just.... slide you right back into the sludge u are trying to escape
aight ready for the next patch
I mean, that would make sense. They should be forced to draw a melee weapon in such a situation.
Anyone know a good gem for 2 handed weapons? I’m still at kindlewastes
The HH there I believe is what drops the gems of soul reaping, that's a best gem for everything
The rest depends on the weapon and build
Soul reaping is a healing gem, its crazy good for fighting mobs
Most gems aren't really that great, but if you have say a 2H with fire damage then burning is a decent option, same for a weapon with shroud damage and a shroud gem
Battle Mania is probably the main gem for builds not running a gem of currents build - but it's more of a boss fight gem and requires elixir
I've taken to running like 5 different greatswords at max 😅
I have a piercing, soul reaping, shroud, lycanthropy for night and a battle mania for bosses
Gem of storm’s eye sounds promising for clustered mobs
I wonder if it’s good with the gs ulti
Gem of Hopeful Embers is the only one you need
Think I forgot to test the chain lightning - can't remember if I made a sword with it
I know it has an internal cooldown though of like 1S
