The two items that give "% skill shot damage" in fact give "% ranged damage" at level 2. so if you equip them both, you get a nice 38% more body shot damage, but that body shot damage isn't included in a critical calculation. And now's a good time to be clear, it looks like headshot damage ignores these level 2 increases. (but not level 3... I cant even.) But if you get a headshot, you get 2x your damage ignoring level 2 increases, but then the number level 2 would have increased your normal attack gets added after. I know thats complicated, i didn't write the code. The short is: none of the things that "increase skill shot damage" do it as advertised, in different ways they all incrase your body shot damage first, then by proxy your head shots.

The perks in the green tree that specifically say "Gives 10, then 20 more, percent ranged damage" actually give 30% total Bow damage (level 30 damage) which is kinda crazy. It even lists this as bow damage in the character sheet funily enough.

After seeing that the armor functioned weird, I double checked my original math on the "skill shot" perk you pick up. It functions different from the armor, and same as I originally calculated. It exists outside of the normal damage formula. It looks at the total damage done on levels 1 and 2 (ignoring 3) and adds a number equal to 50% of 1+2. that flat damage of (1+2)*.5 is added to the crit. so both body and crit are increased by the same flat number that is for some wild reason unaffected by level 3

pure bobcat
#

That feels like an odd choice, can you elaborate? Wouldn't it be just about mandatory to spend X skill points to boost all damage?

tawny hinge
#

I was referencing the perks that already exist and are spread all over. Cut, pierce, slash, lightning, ice, etc. they're already damn near mandatory and you have to go all over the map getting strength on int builds or vice versa in order to get them.

pure bobcat
#

So are you suggesting, +Fire damage stays a separate perk line from +Blunt damage (for instance), but they all branch directly off of the same "root" in the skill tree with no intermediate nodes that you must go through?

tawny hinge
#

yeah, I think its more fitting that we get less perks but better access to the generic ones. then the "class trees" can all be higher impact nodes that specialize your playstyle.

Its crazy that I may or may not need to spend 20 points in blue entirely on how lucky my RNG was with greatsword drops.

pure bobcat
#

Ah, because to optimize you'd want to reskill to get the perks that match your current weapon's damage; I think I understand. I recently had a thought about this "+ X% ___ Damage" sort of perk, which is that it would actually fit better as a passive effect on gems (in addition to the gems' current effects). This makes a lot of sense, because gems must be tied to specific weapons to function anyway. Also, I always felt those skill perks were "useful-but-boring" compared to things like Updraft, Chain Hit, etc.

#

And, y'know, I feel like gems are pretty weak right now and this could be a way to strengthen them...

#

I feel that one way the devs could mitigate this is with a more generous inventory size and better systems for managing equipment, sort of like "presets". This would allow items to shine that are very useful but only in certain situations even if they are unlikely to ever be "Best-in-Slot" overall. For example, with rings: currently we have two ring slots and wearing duplicate rings is possible, so every ring is basically competing to be 1st BiS (or maybe 2nd, depending on if there are significantly diminishing returns for stacking a ring). Carrying extra rings for different situations is possible but cumbersome (inventory is limited, switching is not trivial). If, instead, we had 4 ring slots and we were not allowed to wear duplicate rings, each ring would only be competing to be at least 4th BiS. Add to that more generous inventory, and carrying extra rings for special cases would be easier. This could boost the number of "viable" rings for any player's build from 1-2 up to maybe 4-6 or so.

Hmm. So... how effective are kick > merciless builds, and what's the best style for them?

half furnace
# solar rock Hmm. So... how effective are kick > merciless builds, and what's the best style ...

kick not very effective. merciless deal nice damage but cant be used against bosses and can be interrupted easy. merciless also takes quite long to enable, and by that time normal attacks would have killed the enemy already.
merciless gets a little better if you give enemies extra hp (in world settings), and you get good at parrying. the attack speed of merciless varies per weapon, with 2handers being the slowest and daggers the fastest.

cunning mural

Merciless is honestly not that good, early game its better but most of the time just... "stun them and keep whaling while they're stunned" is faster than actually using merciless strike

your mostly going to use mana for staff. Some people will stay as wand and only use staff to heal. But staff has lots of spells that can be very applicable to certain situations. like if you are swarmed a fireball will do a lot more than a wand will. Also eventually you can stunlock enemies with channel lightning + terror and move around them for free backstab damage (take nodes on the tree)

pure bobcat

It might spread the Storm's Eye debuff. But I've seen enough instances where it doesn't appear to do that that I am still doubtful.

wild cypress
runic tree
#

Yeah, the same cost as the first two combined just for the same bonus is a bit excessive. Especially since the previous talent had half the cost of all three combined for roughly twice the effect.

pure bobcat
#

So I recently did some testing of the Miner skill: it looks like it does not work on resources harvested with the felling axe, even though it is accessable from the Lumberjack skill. I gathered nearly 200 units of Shroud Mushroom total (so I cut down something like 40-60 mushrooms) and I saw no significant difference between yields with and without the skill. The smaller mushrooms nearly always gave 3, the larger ones nearly always gave 5, and any variance was well within what I would expect from having one of the drops slide out of my view or be inaccessible due to deadly shroud tar or things like that.

Is this a known issue?

cunning mural
#

"Mining Resources" is they key word to take away from it. but you can still get the "miner" skill without having to get the "extra terrain damage" skill

pure bobcat
cunning mural
#

I get the correlation. but I think its a "we wanted to make it so you can mine roots easier and also get more mining resources, without having to also use the skill points on 10% mining damage when your pickaxe could be more than good enough"

brave quest
#

I dont feel like the perk is lying at least with how its written

#

But would like to see more done with the non combat subtree concept

#

You can also as stated mine a bunch of stuff you dont really need extra damage for even from early game

cunning mural
#

to be fair, I actually quite often get "lumberjack" and "miner" and skip the mining damage

#

I very much do want the extra tree damage, cause it applies to shroud roots
and I also want the extra ore while mining.
but I don't want the extra mining damage

pure bobcat
#

I guess it's more frustrating now that the devs have added more "choppable" resources needed in vast quantities as well...

cunning mural
#

extra damage = increased mining speed by technicality. but for instance. Think of Silver Ore

#

Silver Ore is always a pain to mine. it takes forever, one of the hardest ores (at least it sure feels like it)

#

you can mine it 10% faster, so... from snails pace it goes to a slightly faster snails pace

pure bobcat
#

Yeah, for that one I'd surely want all mining perks I could get.

brave quest
cunning mural
#

or, you can make it so every time you get 1 silver ore, there's a 10% chance it doubles to 2 ore instead.

pure bobcat
cunning mural

the thing with mining, is that it depends "how much terrain you remove" and since mining silver is... abysmal. occasionally getting an extra ore seems to be a lot better than "abysmal speed, but slightly faster abysmal speed..."

brave quest
cunning mural
brave quest
#

I would be very interesting in 3 or 4 harvestinf skill trees that had some nice exploration buffs so you dont wanna turn them off when just doing non gathering stuff

pure bobcat
#

And I agree, the "Miner" skill in isolation isn't lying to me. It's more that the connetion between it and "Lumberjack" feels misleading.

cunning mural
#

I like that idea too, but I just want to say that quite often I would rather keep lumberjack and miner, and skip the mining damage perk cause... it doesn't help as much as "a random extra ore"

#

so I am concerned at the idea of losing my lumberjack to miner branch. Cause I use my 2 "mining damage" skill points elsewhere and just keep lumberjack

#

lumberjack is way more useful, cause every chop counts on shroud roots

brave quest
#

I would just like a bit more going on with the perks so you have some axe bonus damage down a gathering tree or even silly stuff like a staff skill making you also better at fishing

pure bobcat
brave quest
#

"The skill to cast a line has enhanced your spellcasting form..."

cunning mural
#

I wouldn't mind if they added another skill point, one specifically for chopping trees down and getting more resources

#

but I'd want them to be lower in skill point cost, so I can get both tree and ore, or a way to mix and match them

brave quest
#

I need a path of exile tier skill tree exclusively for gathering skills in increasingly and concerningly complex ways.

Jokes aside

Could be as simple as making 2 perks that increase yield from resources but make each have a small sub bonus that effects the other activity like swing speed or something

There are many approaches; this game incentives dodge and parry very highly for most character builds versus "handling" taking lots of damage. That said, the health regen on tanking chests and boots is available to all classes so a multi-pronged approach is fine. Don't overlook the Rested buff and having your strongest foods before going into big/long fights. Finally, don't be afraid of being a little cheesy, standing in hard to reach places, kiting and using cover to block projectiles. If you use a wand also use a shield and get good at parrying, many projectiles can be bounced back at foes on top of the benefits of dealing with melee attacks.

So if you're upgrading gems over time at Gem Forges, the top text while in your inventory will always be the same, but the lower text will be accurate to its current level.

I really hope this is fixed/simplified down the road.

My partner and I just tried to do a Hollow Halls (we were way too under leveled lvl 5s vs level 10s so gave up) and I quickly realized that the enemies would beeline to her (archer) and fully ignore me (the tank).

I searched it up a bit and I see there is an issue with enemy agro in Hallow Halls but in general is there no point in my speccing for threat generation? Does it just fully not work at the moment?

My level 27 coiling wand with food buff and tree specced for magic does 77 damage and 37 on wand master at 0.6 swing speed. This equates to 146.8 dps. this doesn't equate for overcharge but still

I also presumed some staff usage for opening fights

coral juniper

but the fact that on paper, a 2h weapon 1 level lower with no support at all out dps a wand with full gear and tree support (or even comes close for that matter), it seems a little weird

brave quest
#

I mean if played optimally wands are basically safe af and can aoe an entire crowd without using consumable resources

half furnace
#

wands are good for higher difficulty, since they are ranged and you get a shield to parry. while 2h might deal more damage, being in melee range on higher diff will mean ur dead. but for playing on normal or slightly harder, yea just stand there and mash away with 2h

brave quest

On survival+ being able to stay out of melee but retaining parry is not to be slept on

coral juniper

but there's almost no threat at all with the BONKERS healing you get from gemini rings on 2h. Like when it procs i healed for half my HP when i was full build

Yeah the "safe" bonus of no need to really aim and have range and parry and aoe all in one is less cool when the threat level is down

brave quest
coral juniper

overall i'll probably stick mage for a bit (bc i dont wanna recraft melee gear) and the option to use staff gives a little more variety than mash LMB

Lightning spells, yes (because they specifically say that they do stun damage). Otherwise, no. But the bigger issue is that filling the stun bar by most means other than melee doesn't actually stun them. It is very strange.

Yup and lightning spells don't directly interact with the stun bar much. You can melee or bow stun without the meter full, as well. Shield bash and drop smash and such.

cunning mural

you'd think they'd want to put some backstab stuff on the assassin tree

#

and maybe move the assassin tree so its closer to the "melee" build section, instead of near the "mage" section

#

the Ranged tree is basically:
"Food + Stamina related stuff"
"Daggers + Poison Resist + Animal "taming""
"Ranged Weapons and arrow damage + multishot and float in mid air during shots (this should totally be a mage+range ability and cost mana to use instead of stamina)"
"Assassin... crit chance... magic to stun enemies... explosives are essentially better..."

#

Assassin makes no sense

fleet field
#

Assassin/stealth I think is just undercooked. Stealth mechanics are tough to dev and balance but I do hope it gets built out in the near future

pure bobcat
#

It feels like the explosive perks (the stun and chain-reaction), and one of the multishot perks (the one that magically duplicates arrows) and of course Bee Sting, are indeed very magic-adjacent.

#

And I think the Ranger/Dex-build confusion is not unique to this game. It seems like a lot of game settings are trying to aim for a sort of Aragorn-Legolas-Robin Hood hybrid for the aesthetics of what a "ranger" is. But, mechanically, the skills of those characters and characters similar to them throughout fiction are all over the place.

fleet field

I think we've talked ranger traps before, but I think that'd be a great way to add some more versatility

daggers, stealth attack bonuses, backstab, things of this nature should be closer to the melee tree side of skills
while the magical stuff like bee sting, stun reaction chain, miltishot, ect could be closer to the magic tree side of skills

then put the animal taming and food/stamina buffs on their own tree, along with poison resist. and then the ranged damage with crit chance and stuff could go on the main bow-damage section.

But let’s be honestly RNG chest farming is not a fun mechanic in a survival game. Especially for mages who use specific elements and can’t find reasonable upgrades for their gear that Aline with their builds. I stopped playing mage simply because I wanted to be a fire lighting mage and I can’t find lighting wands or staves. I mean look at games like Skyrim where you can craft what ever you want if you have the right recourses. Same with MMO and other survival games like Valhiem or 7d2d. You find blueprints and then craft using those blueprints.

yup, usually someone asks and then someone else whips up a quick tree. Honestly there isnt all that much build variaty. You kinda pick your focus and maybe sub focus then take the staples like doublejump or updraft then you take all the major nodes that improve your weapon of choice, then take all the relevant stats for your build

As they said, builds aren't what you'd imagine. Your skill choice is dictated by the weapon you're using. Grab all relevant damage type and generic damage boosts. Get as much of yoir damage stat as you can stomach. Then get a secondary stat for a slightly hybridized build or grab some quality of life skills.

Then when a different weapon drops slightly reskill to improve its damage types. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

#

hey guys i just joined to ask whats probably a simple question but the wording in the skill tree is confusing me

does Arsonist increase the damage from

-"Magical fire damage" on my bow, my hammer, etc
-exploding arrows

#

or the actual skills that do fire damage like counter strike and radiant aur a

#

and similar to that, iceman perks, they stat "All fire damage" and "all ice damage" but i know that melee bonuses dont work on daggers etc etc. the wording on these skills gives me a brain attack

wild cypress
wild cypress

The wording is confusing, I agree; please submit feedback using F1 to make your voice heard. ❀️ πŸ€

molten walrus
#

i've been in twig collecting hell

#

haha

wild cypress
# molten walrus so daggers are affected by strength or no? google told me no

This is a case of bad wording; Strength does not raise Dagger damage, but it does raise 1h and 2h damage. This is a known problem, but again, if you give feedback it raises the pressure for this confusing (aka incorrect) wording to be fixed. Again you can test my claims yourself, I'm not going by my gut. :)

#

Daggers were added later in the game, not a part of the release plan, same with Greatswords.

I might ditch some, I put a lot in because glider

The upside is that it can pull you out of a stun, but since it eats mana it's competing for resources VS your green tree feeds you lots of Stamina so dodge-rolls take a smaller portion of the pool.

The problem is that the wookies and beasts are not that common in the game to justify the skill dump.

ionic viper
#

Pigs are beasts, so yes they count.

#

Once again, you're just going to have to test the skill tree and see if you like it.

indigo ore
#

the issue with the skill tree is opportunity cost. Pacifying beasts is nice to have in a vacuum but by taking those perks, you're giving up perks elsewhere. There's a finite amount of skill points and not enough to unlock everything

molten walrus
#

Fair, i saw some high damage output beasts and thought theyd be useful,

Maybe ill take the skills for the journey then ditch them at endgame

#

Are there any good melee weapons that dont need a bunch of skill points to be viable?

indigo ore
#

unfortunately you can't actually take the beasts with you. You would think that the beastmaster tree would let you summon pets but alas, it does not

#

so the times that you can aggro beasts onto enemies are few and far between

molten walrus
#

Replace the capstone with a repaint of necromancer thats called druided and summons wolves

#

But with bow kills or something

#

'Packmaster'

#

i think if i got another green scale weapon like spears or something this build would be perfect

ionic viper

I can see the potential behind the beast skills, but as Chewy mentioned, nothing stays around like a pet.
It would be cool if they did. Nice to have a small army of NPCs to fight with.

pure bobcat
# sullen crater I mean... even if you can't shoot yourself and can't reach whoever's shooting at...

In my experience the melee enemies tend to path right under where I'm standing whenever I'm above an overhang or atop a structure. This is probably due to AI silliness, but it is actually somewhat effective. I cannot hit them through floors, and as soon as I jump down from my perch they will be nearby, and behind me.
And of course, this is when they don't just jump 5 meters (or more) through the air to attack me.

pure bobcat

I'm okay with most of them being foolish, but it would be interesting (and terrifying) if some elite enemies had a grappling hook and double jump, and could pathfind using them. I also feel like humanoid enemies (Scavengers, Vukah, and some of the more "energetic" Fell) could maybe climb ladders and grates.

Now, to be fair, this has been somewhat mitigated in Veilwater by the big Drak having grappling hooks.

I more meant something along the lines "advanced enemy tactical behavior on/off".

fleet field
#

oh yeah - there's some games where you can toggle enemy AI and at higher difficulties enemies find cover from ranged attacks, flank more, etc.

#

oof can you imagine if certain enemies could parry our fireballs back at us?

pure bobcat
#

Especially because the enemies don't abide by the same system.

fleet field
#

Yeah if we can parry baby dragon fireballs it would make sense to add this mechanic more globally

pure bobcat
#

Exactly. Last I checked, the fire damage from scavenger flaming arrows and flaming swords can't be blocked. Even though you can literally block the solid object which is carrying the fire. Also enemies happily block wand projectiles, ice vulture spit can be parried (but not blocked?) but banshee ice bolts can't (but sicklescythes can). It is extremely non-intuitive.

cunning mural
#

very inconsistent... also what is it with games making "magic attacks" unblockable?

pure bobcat
#

To me the simple rule would be : Does this attack/projectile cause AOE immediately on hit? Is it 2x or more larger than the player and their shield? If the answer is "yes" to either of those, it shouldn't be blockable. Otherwise, it should be blockable. And anything which can be parried, should also be blockable.

fleet field
#

well, probably magic not being classified as physical. Like how plate armor might be great for blocking a sword, but doesn't help prevent you from being roasted if you're set on fire

cunning mural
#

I accept "Weaknesses" to certain things, for instance in Zelda:
Metal Shield can't block a electric attack
Wooden shields can block fire attacks... but will catch fire and potentially be destroyed for doing so

fleet field
#

I guess realistically any armor would delay being roasted alive, but most games probably just skip to being roasted for simplicity

cunning mural
#

to be fair, I think of it as so:
"If I can hide behind a rock to prevent damage, I can hide behind a rock on my arm to prevent damage too"

fleet field
#

Maybe with high enough strength - rock armor would be heavy AF

cunning mural
#

I also love using a metal shield, to block fire from fire Lizalfos in Breath Of The Wild.

#

I think you will catch fire if blocked for long enough though, cause of the heat

pure bobcat
# fleet field well, probably magic not being classified as physical. Like how plate armor migh...

I feel like this makes sense for magic in many novels and other settings, which often is non-physical (for example, a psychic attack or an internal one) but in this game (and most games, I think) magic attacks actually are physical. Fire, shards of ice, lightning bolts, acid sprays, etc. are physical things, and if you can stop them from touching you, you should be able to negate much or all of the harm.

wraith silo
cunning mural
#

and to be fair, I feel like "Acid Bite" should be blockable for the innitial attack, (blunt attack that should stun the player) but not for the AOE on the ground.

#

if they want to make it so non-magical shields, can't block magical attacks... can we at least make wards better by letting those block magical attacks?

cunning mural
pure bobcat
cunning mural

to be fair, I would still like to "block" flamethrowers, but more in a "reduced damage" situation

#

Low block and not great parry, but they'd let you actively reduce elemental damage significantly.

cunning mural

that could be nice

#

wards need a buff, and I say this after they got buffed with mana regen.

pure bobcat
#

I also wouldn't want to lock ordinary shields out of blocking attacks, both for consistency and because many of these magic things are made of matter. I would rather see Wards become more unique by, say, using Mana rather than Stamina, or absorbing blocked damage into mana, or charging up a retaliation attack... something that feels really magical, rather than simply "hey I can block this thing that a plate of metal cannot block (even though it should)".

cunning mural
#

to be fair, if a magic fire ward could absorb a flamethrower blast, reducing all damage to 0... that'd be cool
if I could block one of the "shroud" projectiles the banshee's use into a shroud themed ward, and even got mana back? that'd be cool

pure bobcat
# fleet field The new dome magic shield spell isn't great right now but there's some potential

There is a deeper issue with defensive or support spells right now, however: Anything that is not a combat spell (as in, a thing that can defeat enemies readily) has a huge opportunity cost, because you can only have one spell ready to fire from the staff, and must scroll through the list to switch them. Without a very different control scheme or passive auras or something I'm not sure how one gets around that.

cunning mural
#

I feel like, done right, a "Healer/Support" character could become the new "most desired ally"

fleet field
cunning mural
#

oh, the "Tome"

#

I actually had this discussion before here, lol

#

basically the idea is, a "Quiver" for spells, that changes it from a "Scroll list" into a right-stick style selection circle. and it subdivides the circle the more spells you have. if you want 11 spells, it divides the circle into 11 slices

#

equipping a tome could also add bonuses to damage, like an electric tome could give +10% shock damage or something

fleet field
#

It's already in the suggestions, but dagger ranger unable to use shield or wards, 2h not able to use shields or wards, etc. - More items that take the shield/ward slot would be so nice

#

Tome, Quiver... hmm what would go there for 2h builds?

cunning mural
#

the point of the Tome / quiver is to hold ammo and remove it from the storage, its a "ranged" exclusive

fleet field
#

Hmm so 2h would probably still use one of those for secondary ranged I guess

cunning mural
#

no more arrows in your hot bar, and similar to a "Glider" equipping a tome or quiver takes it out of the inventory. and can not be unequipped without emptying its contents into your inventory first.

#

the point though is just to clear up inventory space for the ranged players. especially spellcasters

#

cause lets be honest, a ranger has 4 arrows at most, lol

fleet field
#

Yeah, which is an important QoL and also the slot is wasted otherwise

cunning mural
#

this doesn't change though, that they could simply add new rings...

#

we have rings of health and Stamina... How about rings of Strength and Intelligence?

#

I think some even kinda do that, but not dedicated enough.

#

(And I carry 3 2H wepons too)

#

but I am not a fighter/weapon expert πŸ˜‰

Hey, any help is good enough for me. I appreciate it.

Is it just me or do wands have a suuuper long delay before you can dodge. Like maybe longer than 2h.

# left wraith Belts are rings, right

I really like the idea of belts, and amulets/necklaces are also a pretty common concept that feels like it's missing. Especially because Enshrouded goes to a lot of effort to portray a culturally and economically vibrant pre-collapse world, but we barely see any in-game accessories other than rings and some purely cosmetic head-wear like crowns or circlets.
And also, 4 ring slots (2 per hand) is a logical extension since you can usually wear this many rings irl without risking them catching against one another, and this could be balanced by disallowing two or more identical rings.

I need to search for belts on feature upvote sometime, and I'm probably going to vote it up regardless of whether I find clothing belts or conveyor belts.

Yeah, like daggers is insanely fast by comparison. You can block at almost any point. I just notice myself getting creamed at times with wands bc of the delay.

#

Guess I just gotta learn the spacing and timing better

I also think it's tied to the projectiles which is where it gets weird. Like if you have a shroud wand and you fire 4 projectiles it has a much longer delay than if you dont have a multicast wand (despite the wand animation being the same)

Can the greatsword of the old order spawn at lvl 50 ?

Focused light let's you get a ton of damage on a hard to reach enemy as a fight starts. Not as useful in the middle of the fight but if youre trying to one-shot a flier or Bowman to draw the fight to you, I think its fine.

How is the goldlaced greatsword lvl50 compared to other gs ?

# sand isle The best greatswords are ugly T.T

i agree some of the more natural looking greatswords are low level or have less stats, the difference in stats is not game changing though. i find myself picking the best looking ones over stats. if you really want to go all the way you can use mods to make the weapon you want to play with. tho, the limits/rules of the game make the game interesting, and mods that remove those limits might break your interest in the game.

still not sure which gem to use on greatsword.

bleeding is kinda useless, cause everything dies in 1-2 hits.

bloodlust and lycanthropy require you to pick up orbs. not sure i wanna pay attention, stop swinging and get that orb, seems annoying.

battlemania maybe, but definitely not while in the shroud, cause you need the elixir buff.

currents probably? gotta get wet tho.

ot just agility? extra cutting damage after an evade attack

yea i gotta test how much overpowering really does.

also Swiftness sounds interesting "Attacks will inflict bonus cutting damage after sprinting for a short time, and the duration refreshes every time damage is dealt"

will try a couple different gems and see which feels best. its just gonna be a pain leveling them up to 50, especially swiftness, since its like level 15 at start

Okay good, because I came across a server last night that had some good armor and weapons but I felt bad for giving myself an advantage.

You should be fine. I am L33 and grabbed a L50 weapon (shroud depot) and slotted a L25 gem. Fully upgraded. Still struggle on some fights.

Do daggers only scale off of DEX and not STR? Trying to build out something and it seems like STR is not affecting Dagger damage.

#

some other nodes do seem to increase dagger damage like The Warrior's Path and Thrust/Pierce, but the overall "5% melee per STR point" is not.

ok, I thought that was the case. I want to run bow and dagger for single target, but 2h for AoE/Cleave. I think it will be too spread out

Hybrids work so long as adjacent. Doing like two handed + Mage is likely not a workable build, for a variety of reasons.

But you can easily combine melee with bows and ranger / beastmaster

I havent played around with Necromancer skill, but it looks interesting if you can get multiple minions.

If you add in the throwable summon items, could be fun. Not sure what the "pet" damage scales off of though

If I interpret the search correct, weapons with poison are pointless in higher regions?

supple eagle

Or just off the total adjusted power of the weapon, which I believe itself scales with the characteristic associated. Strength for melee, Dex for daggers / bow, Int / Spirit for staves and wands, etc.
