😭
i heard the gaiden games were HAAAAAAAAAAARD
Sometimes
i did play a bit of Shinobi back in the day.
There can be hard moments
if there was a debating game, i would probably play it
It looks really good
i have the old PS2 one
Ninja Gaiden 2 was an incredible game
is there a lawyer game
that could potentially be cool a lawyer game
I also liked NG2 the 3D one haha
Yeah it's a big one
yeah but it looks less simulation. i was thinking you actually investigate cases
and hire people to investigate
and then put the files together, and you do more in the court room
I don't know the details of them, tbh I've never played one. I just know the memes
there are ways to make it immersive imo. i think phoenix wright is old and game mechanics were limited at the time
Well, the latest one came out 2 years ago, so...
they still make new ones.
its just a quiz game lol
Most of them have really positive receptions, so they know their audience
There may be other lawyer games out there, I know there are some detective ones that are decent
this is not the game mechanics or graphics i would do
i wouldnt quiz people about the case. you'd actually be trying to win the case
Heavy Rain comes to mind
Decently old at this point, but it's got some really cool investigation mechanics
There are already hacks to bypass it. You can verify yourself now before it's even been rolled out since it comes out in March
The likelihood of being banned is very low since its getting so much hate
i still dont get why game companies use social media
if i had a company i wouldnt use twitter, or facebook, or tiktok
bruh. seriously?
discord basically overrides most of them
it's called advertising.
🤷♂️
and i am not even sure how effective facebook would be anyway
that platform has went down hill
you're better off on instagram
anything is possible if you believe in santa claus
Ty bro
I wish santa will come 🥀
Are there no versions available to test the game?
Or just the free game?
nope, sorry. 🙁
the issue isnt about having to do this. its about the program itself thats being used and who controls that.
sure. Im just stating you can keep that from happening
oh, ok, i havent seen them yet, ill have to look around for another blasted island.
yeah if i find them again ill take more pics how to get to it
thats where i found my white crystals though

that looks pretty neat, I was about to say something until that last 5 seconds.
it looks like the perfect combination of wipeout and burnout
the kill cam is glorious
and you really get the sense of speed visually imo
the games industry seams allergic to uniqueness unfortunately

interesting you can jump in this game and climb over stuff in this game would have liked to been able to chose my class.
just a demo, dont want to go giving people everything now before the game is even out
true
HOW THE HECK IS DARKHAVEN MORE DEMANDING THAN ENSHROUDED?!
i guess im not playing the demo.
RIP! GG
you mean in hardware requirements or gameplay wise?
sounds like its poorly optimized
🤷♂️
it needs a 20 series min for the g-card while enshrouded asked for a 10 series.
i might still try out the demo.
and the player character is hot to
lol, i never cared too much about that in an ARPG but it's a plus.
neither do i tbh it just sticks out to me because she's the only playable class
only one playable class right now?!
okay those negative reviews were right. this game needed more time in the oven before releasing a demo
and as cool as the game sounds, why would I want minecraft elements in an ARPG? I want to dungeon crawl not build bases.
what TL3 did was enough for that.
Like destructable dungeons, cool. but like, the rest feels gimmicky.
but hey, it might be fun. who knows.
hopefully there will another demo in the future with other classes
yes
i started a valheim run and im already fighting with the inventory
In Valheim the inventory gets u
Anyone played Grounded? You just stand close to your chests, press N, and all the stuff from you inventory stacks in the chests. I may have done that more than one time in enshrouded and wondered why my inventory is still full. 😆
btw, Grounded 2 is in early access right now, but has a good portion of playable content, reasonably bugfree. Might be worth checking out.
inventory isnt the issue in valheim
in valheim it's literally that it was a game made by trolls
the big issue is storm design, interval, duration, frequency, intensity etc. wolves are annoying, walk all over, go places they shouldn't, block your path, howl incessantly, food duration is too short, and annoying to upkeep/manage.
also they likely have that tiny snap issue nobody ever fixed
Get a look at the Launch Trailer for Super Battle Golf, a co-op arcade golfing game developed by Brimstone. Players will take to the greens in a chaotic fashion to win the free-for-all golfing game. Super Battle Golf is available now for PC (Steam).
nah inventory is definitely a big issue in valheim. Too little weight capacity, too few slots, armor and everything on item bar takes slots, its a pain, pure pain.
sounds awful.

someone posted this in the windrose server lol
Windrose does seem to take inspiration from those original first surivivals like Conan Exiles, Ark, and Enshrouded.
Does Windrose have terrain deformation or anything? I feel like that's kind of a key point for Enshrouded
can't tell yah unfortunately still can't get the game to work but according the dev Thiers a hardware compatibly problem that their going to try and fix at some point in the near future
you all got me interested in that one, downloading
it doesnt look like it for terrain but im watching some people break down wrecks for the resources.

wasnt as much a pain for me as the other things i mentioned. you only need a bow and 1 weapon, maybe a shield. enshrouded also has inventory management as part of the gameplay, i dont see much difference between the games. in enshrouded having to switch between 2 toolbars annoys me. but i don't really mind at the same time.
sure, you can be overweight in valheim, but it depends how much it bothers you. when you play with more players it's sort of a none issue as you can all pitch in to carry things, while the other things i listed are issues still.
overweight and alone, = put things in a cart, i find it kind of fun, it's actually less annoying than the raids, and the other crap i listed.
you would also need to be farming the hell out of something to have inventory issues. fix it so you can travel through portals with ore, and then multiple trips isn't a problem. place your portal right where you grab the stuff etc.
im 1000 hours in valheim
i think i'm an expert on what is actually annoying
vs what is similar to other games and maybe annoying if you're 100 hours in, and not used to inventory management.
even in titan quest 2, i have to portal up and make a drop off, if i want to pick up more items on the floor.
what was the game i was playing recently maybe se2, or enshrouded?
oh no HYTALE
haha i forgot about hytale
been playing it for 2 weeks
Hytale, same inventory management as valheim
and i consistently just drop things, to pick up better/more needed things as i go.
and eventually portal home to drop off when i get tired of that.
the point is singleing out valheim for this, when it has actual mechanics that suck that are different from other games isn't fair comparison.
i actually trashed the shitty mechanics that other games don't have as common.
when you have 100 wolves at your base you will understand why the howling is a problem and why the wolf movement sucks.
when you build for 1000 hours you will understand why the raids and storms are a problem. and feel trollish.
and why 20-40 minute food durations aren't good... like i want to spend my time playing not farming, cooking, grabbing food, and in betwen building, and inventory management, that 40 minutes flies by.
enshrouded doesnt have weight, thats a humongous difference
imagine if stardew valley had weight on items, ugh
and please, dont throw the hours you played at me. I can have an opinion wether i played 100 or 1000 hours.
the weight is annoying, its why everyone makes the belt pretty much
your opinion wasn't incorrect. it's just you brought up weight later on. also come to think of it i wanted them to have a paper doll with armor slots for many years and they never listened to me.
i forget what terraria does i think its weapons that stay in inventory, and armor has slots?
we're just weighing things differently imo, nobody is incorrect really.
i mean, i was making the crappiest bow and i was trying to setup a table to craft it and upgrade it and my character stopped picking up wood, and i had like 1.5 stacks of it
valheim isn't a qol game sadly, they could improve a lot of things you're right
enshrouded has qol built into it's design
even hytales inventory struggles are better because there is no weight factored into it
i mean i played nightingale, wich is a game that pmuch stopped developing, and didnt have weight issues there. Inventory should never take much time to manage
both are based on stamina combat
i dont know if they ever added crafting from chests in Valheim?
havent played since mistlands
i think they did
maybe not?
my memory is very bad despite 1000 hours
what's your ideal storage system for a game?
i might have played with a mod, that allowed crafting from chests
modded valheim way better, because you can add some qol in
which is still pretty much vanilla, just designed the way it should be
i dont know it kind of depends on the game
yeh i think i might mod it to play it in the future
for this instance a survival game
you can see the chest wall i made here
i like chest walls. if i can fit 32 chests on a wall, and that can hold every item in the game? and i can craft from any bench within a 20 block radius?
then i would say that's my ideal
hytale has all of that except it's 14-16 block radius
modular system could be nice, where all the chests connect into 1 massive inventory.
i mostly meant on a character i don't mind inventory management. but i think armor should not take up backpack space. that's just silly. im used to rpg format where armor is in it's own slots.
i've played BG2 where scrolls potions, and... arrows, had their own bags.
i liked that system
BG2 also had bags of holding... which fit tons of items... could be okay? so my guess is a system where inventory management can be improved over time is probably more fun?
dedicated potions slots, also nice
Fallout 4 had a workshop where u dropped all mats and it was all useable within the bsae area, and u can even connect these storages and use the materials in a base in the other side of the map
like 10 years ago

everwind will be coming to early access in the near future
hytale beat it
it's a forgotten memory now
nobody will care about everwind
hytale is also planning to have air ships etc.
everwind going to come out and be second place with every feature?
all they can do really is differentiate their game lore/world building wise. or perhaps with a more in depth combat system.
its possible they can add more qol than hytale and overtake them, but that would require hytale devs dropping the ball.
Does hytale habe a timeline for adding buildable airships?
Nice!!!
Everwind looks way better than Hytale
Airship looks hella cool. Will def pick it up
Very curious how far along it will be when it hits early access. Hytale is very bare bones but also was cheap entry
The depth of everwind's airships definitely looks cool
My brain always pronounces it Slavic/Finnish style, "Hootilly." XD
Even the videos for combat and npcs/mobs seems much more aesthetically pleasing to me
sounds like you want them to fail
i played the demo it was missing a lot of content then. why would i want them to fail? i want only businesses with immoral practices to fail.
sounds like you want hytale to fail according to trainguy 🤣
jk
i dont see one as better than the other, everwind had an interesting combat feel to it.
nothing i stated earlier was about 'better' or 'worse'
it was about timing and one game doing all the same planned features as the other. and hype etc. people who spent money on one game, can be less inclined to buy the same themed game 2 months later.
once i already owned space engineers, i didn't go and buy empyrion, even if it was "better".
some people might of course, in part depending on their personality, or finances.
the thing that could win me over with everwind is
a) update cycle length not being PZ length.
b) better combat feel/systems
c) better building freedom? though how to beat hytale on that unclear.
tbh everwind being less creative sandbox and more adventure focused gives it a niche that no other voxel minecraft like has currently
everwind already has airships and hytale doesn't. but everwind not released yet. and hytale is. i think hytale was saying airships are a possibility, but no firm date. my guess is 1 year later.
i need some playable iteration of the game to judge that really
the demo was just alpha, here is the world, you can walk around, fly, kill a skeleton etc. felt pretty sandbox.
So essentially you were just talking out your ass about Everwind being second for every feature because there is essentially no road map for said feature in Hytale while its a thing for Everwind already?
on a technicality or semantics, everwind is first with airships between the two. but hytale already won a massive amount of people who could have been their playerbase.
for example i tried the everwind demo before i owned hytale, and before i was even considering buying hytale. once hytale dropped and i got it, i forgot entirely that everwind existed. once everwind releases, they are second because the players are already in hytale, and the players know airships are coming.
now if that changes, and hytale never delivers airships, then everwind has some real mechanistically different things that can entice people who even own hytale to buy it.
my guess is there is a window of release before or a after a really hype game. probably similar with movies? everwind releasing next year could probably be better for them than releasing 2 months after hytale does for example.
but i guess with games it matters less, and early access.. once a game is out, it's out, and you can continue to build hype over time.
You make the assumption thst people are unwilling to try other games which is completely false. If that was the case people wouldn't even be posting sandbox/survival games because there are plenty of them that already exist
i dont think i made that assumption. i think i assume there is an effect, we can debate how significant the effect is, but i think the assumption of there being an effect is fair still.
i didn't generalize everyone into the same box. i speficially wrote.
some people might of course, in part depending on their personality, or finances
for example i know grounded is a real good game, but i still never bought it.
why? because i bought hytale
and before that i bought enshrouded
and before that valheim, or space engineers 2
i can't buy every game that i hear is good. so this one passed me by.
and maybe i'm planning to buy everwind if it really looks good or different from hytale in the long run so maybe my plan to buy grounded 1, and 2 is delayed again.
Me who owns hytale, grounded 2, and will own everwind
I do
Nah. The game doesnt interest me
you also come across as rich, not everyone is like you buddy lol
you buy a ton of games
im surprised you have time to play them
Two similar games can exist and not kill eachother
can two similar games exist and equally take off with 25million copies sold?
or will 1 more likely do that, than the other, if one were going to
depends how you're defining similar now, same genre sure
You literally wrote Hytale beat is when Trainguy posted about Everwind which I just find odd and false to say the least when time and time again similar games have dropped
the closer two games are on, genre, art style, gameplay loop, target audience, and release window. the more direct the competition becomes.
I think Everwinds success depends on its starting pricing point. It could very well sell a lot of copies
Sure but Hytale already released into EA a while ago
and a game that releases second can feel like 'the other one' and that alone can affect sales even if the quality is similar or even better imo.
it depends on a lot, i wasn't saying it's destiny
You literally wrote no one cares about Everwind
text on here is stream of consciousness, you can't cherry pick the first line as the core of the idea i was representing, and ignore the other 10 things i wrote after that.
here is the stream of consciousness
Right... because if I wrote that game is DOA that doesnt have meaning
the stream of consciousness begins with the first line... and ends with...
the last line. what does the last line say.
that it's not destiny.
also "everwind going to come out and be second place with every feature?", was a question, rhetorical.
How Valourant cites his sources
Source: Trust me Bro vibes
i think it's more important where a person ends up or clarifies there meaning than the original statement too. like if you push back, and the guy explains, no i actually mean it like this, either originally or in retrospect, then that's a win too.
Yeah I got what you meant, the "stream of consciousness" argument just made me think of that image lol
tbh i just prefer having mobile base i can deck out and teleport back to if i get lost
Oh yeah, airships are an Excellent addition to builder games.
inb4 airships and shroud islands the first expansion for enshrouded 🤔
Now I made myself sad/excited. Imagining procedurally generated shroud islands that you visit using custom crafted airships. The further you get from Embervale, the stranger and more challenging the enemies become. It requires stronger engines and ships to travel further out and discover more.
Lore notes are populated on the proc-gen shroud islands that lead players to new locations, ala Raft, where key locations are only partially proc-gen and have hand-crafted dungeons and POIs on them...
i think my profile illustrates my opinion on airships
Not sure if you ever played but last Oasis but I really enjoyed that one haha
So much of this reminds me of worlds adrift with the wind walls

I should dive into Lost Skies sometime

i love ff6.
dont care for any of the ones that get more hitech than that one.

Apr 8, 2026
its VERY steampunky.
the magitek armor in the game is super cool
it has an AMAZING theme.
the villian actually wins!
and it's got a bunch of insanely weird moments.
ah so it goes full on steam punk instead of having just having some steam punky elements like a lot of fantasy
uhm, maybe? maybe im wrong. but it's definitely steampunk adjacent. im not sure if there's a lot of steam tech. it is an old game from the 90s.
it's got the vibe though.
Steampunk/magitek is one of my favorite genres
it's cool.
to be fair I like nearly all genres aside from too realistic sci-fi and modern slice of life unless it's heavy on comedy.
but i dont get enough medieval fantasy in my life.
For me it kinda depends on context. For MMOs I vastly prefer medieval fantasy, but for RPGs and stuff I could really take any setting
Though I don't think we've gotten any good steampunk survival or MMO games that really hit it for me, so who knows
RIP Nightingale's potential
i've never understood slice of life i live that shit every day why would i want to watch it/play it?
So you can experience things that you'd never get to in your real life, like "having friends" and "forming relationships" and "getting good grades" ? lol (not you specifically, obviously)
Now listen here, buddy!

a lot of slice of life animes are cute girls doing cute things. like driving around on mopeds
one of my favorite slice of life animes is Azumanga Daioh.
YO that's the best manga and the anime is also very good.
i own both.
u a real 1
"Soramimi Cake" by Oranges & Lemons
Straight from one of the episodes:
No anti-vaccine messages,
no bad audio,
no slight cut-offs.
Now the theme song is playing in my head
:D
I don't know what that is, anime is just easy to dunk on sometimes 😝
Azumanga Daioh Ending - Raspberry Heaven (Full Song)
Lyrics:
kokoro ni hane wo motte
tsutate mune no sasayaki
ima, kaze ni notte
kokoro wa hoshi no kanata
negai wa kanarazu kanau
ai ni kitte sono kagi wa mirai e
mado ni sotto yobu koe wa
koi no yokan soshite
mada tooku no ai demo
shinjiteru asu wo
shinjiteru kimi wo
Rapsberry heaven
hitori ...
I will however trash on Love Hina the manga. dont get me started on that pile of trash that somehow won an award.
the anime gets a pass though.
the full scene is sooo funny.
The Chiyo dreams still haunt me as some of the best dream writing ever haha
eh i got good grades in highschool and my life went nowhere after that
relatable.
I did my senior thesis on how primary education doesn't do a good job preparing people for the real world. I could talk for hours about that 😝
yup
I could as well
at least the talking about it for hours
i never saw a good survival game with trains
unfortunately
core keeper was supposed to add them, didn't
foundry is working on trains, but it's not really survival builder, it's factor sim.
some of us are pushing space engineers 2 hard to add rail mechanical blocks, so we can get vertical/horiztonal elevators, doors, launch systems, and trains.
minecraft had some mods probably, but meh mods
stormworks too much realism/mechanics
devs always focus on water, and miss air ships (guns of icarus style combat) and trains..
yeah but also education shouldnt solely exist to prepare people for jobs. by real world not sure what you mean? like street smarts? empathy? gratitude? morality? loving kindness? lots of things education could teach that would be invaluable, like how to love well, how to practice love... and also parents for that matter.
it's because you didn't take the midnight train. https://youtu.be/Pze8Dyqiky8 🤔

"We have tendency to think in terms of doing and not in terms of being. We think that when we are not doing anything, we are wasting our time. But that is not true. Our time is first of all for us to be. To be what? To be alive, to be peaceful, to be joyful, to be loving. And that is what the world needs most." – Thich Nhat Hanh.
Thats what I mean. Primary school should prepare you to be a member of society and college/secondary education is targeted at specific vocations.
Void Train was kinda fun, and Volcanoids is also supposed to be very good, but I havent played that one.
yeah but the idea i was getting at is not to center the survival builder around trains. just to have trains.. the same way when you add water you dont center the survival builder around boats... in some games. unless the game is raft.
The only public high school I went to had a " Life Skills Class" that was used to teach all of of the special education students/ failing freshmen how to survive before they got flunked out
the only reason why i knew about it was because i was supposed to take it and didn't because there wasn't a seat for me
The Arizona education system was bad during the late 1990's and th early 2000's
Thats fair. I wish Satisfactory had more of an "adventure" to it so you could have some people focus on factory and others focus on exploration. I know Star Rupture kinda has that, but not QUITE what I'm after.
not to sound pedantic but your mobile base in that game isn't a train
Idk that looks like a train to me, but I'm not a trainologist

Sounds like Valourant wants a game where trains are a feature, but they aren't the main focus
Can you give any specific examples of them not being good?
that looks amazing.

i think the wording fooled you
im saying, 50 good survival games
no trains in them
as in they are good... but have no trains
of course they would be better with trains in them 😄
imagine if it was the year 2000 and this game released
i wonder if anyone could even run it on their pc
Definitely not. Dx11-12 support wasnt great in 2000 😝
Yup! Will also give it a try!
yeah, but i often think what would happen if this game was released in 2000, how would i view it differently

i kinda dislike games with the corporation angle
be more creative please
not sure how i feel about their ship building
it's giving me no mans sky trauma vibes, where i had no freedom, and hated every art asset the devs designed.
prefer block building games 🙁
it's pretty similar in core keeper too, or other games, for some reason i dislike art assets people do.
even in space engineers, they give you prefab hallways, and i dislike them - and space engineers is a block builder, so obviously i like the block building just dislike the prefab look.
that game needs a video solely on their ship building though so i can tell more
yeah i mean their ship building comes across as NMS with more modern system maybe better art. it's more of a ship upgrader than a real builder imo. more like part combinations.
not my thing
sounds like you would want something more like spores building system
i liked spore, but mostly the cell stage
maybe early animal stage
i liked the old SNES game called E.V.O
as a example this is some of the ships i made in it. full on creative freedom we don't get any other game
i dont really like part builders
as in ready made ship assets
prefer block building
the only time i saw part builders as worthwhile was in kerbal space program, where it makes sense to provide a finished part for a rocket, because its also mechanically functional.. aerodynamic... actually does things that help you make it to space, and would work in a real world setting, not just fictional.
so it made sense to build your rockets out of provided parts
those ships are nice though
yeah the creators were the best part of the game everything else is mediocre and was done better in other games
to the earlier point unfortunately what you want doesn't really exist at the moment the closet thing i can think of are Minecraft mods
Will this game make me a Believer? Or will it only make me an Enemy?

saw a video a few weeks about this game
I'm sure that's going to do well. All the recent hero shooters have been huge hits.
right guys?
yeah right there with mmos
I'd argue with MMOs we haven't had any super successful releases in more like 15 years though 😝
is it just me or is indy and small studios becoming more of a dominate force in the gaming industry?
dominant, no, not even close. more notice-able, yes and expect more to pop up. All the people laid off have to do something with themselves.
It’s really a double edged sword isn’t it?
We're definitely going to see a shift in the way games are developed. A lot of people saying that Western game dev teams are dying because it's so expensive to employ a full studio in the US/EU, but I think it's really just that AAA development is crazy bloated.
And there's going to be a shift away from AAA to AA and indie development because those studios are actually sustainable. We'll probably also see some upsets in how publishers work because the way the megacorps work right now isn't functioning very well. Late stage capitalism has trouble with game development because of the "line go up" mentality
what’s the line go up mentality?
TL:DR Every year you have to make more money. But that's not enough, you need to make EVEN MORE more money than you did last year. Infinite growth, faster every year.
It's more complex than that, but that's kind of the core behavior of publicly traded corporations. That's one reason why we see these rounds of layoffs, so they can cut "costs" (people) to ensure they meet their arbitrarily set fiscal goals of making the right amount of money for the shareholders.
That supports a few behaviors we see in AAA development:
-Focus on live service games, because they have steady, constant returns (but must continually grow!)
-Cancellation of long-running projects before they get released, even if feedback is good (Project Blackbird, Ghost, etc)
-Chasing the biggest releases EVER every single time
-Reducing risk and focusing on their live service big bets, not investing in new IPs or games, etc
Meanwhile, we see AA projects being massively profitable because they can make a game that they want to that is smaller scope but is super fun and more risky. (Silksong, Arc Raiders, Expedition 33). MMOs are specifically tough because they are classically the biggest projects that require the longest development times and have the most risk to them. That's why we see so few attempts other than by intrepid small indie teams.
i kind of hope it does. I love me some capture the flag.
I'm generally rooting for games to do well, though for this one specifically I can't stand the animations. Both the walk and run animations look horribly uncomfortable, like watching a drunk person try to run.
Thats usually a fun watch tho
it looks funny

Windrose is really fun , enjoyed the Demo!
Well….. I just got back into Eldegarde… it seems like it’s kind of a dying game that doesn’t get talked about enough. It was formerly Legacy: Steel and Sorcery. It’s a fantasy extraction game. It started as PvP only. They now have the zones in rotation between PVE and PvP.
They have 6 classes to choose from.
Priest, Warrior, rogue, hunter, wizard, and now paladin. Progression feels good QoL is good. Just needs more players. Available up to 3 man parties.
i tried the demo for that during a next fest. it didn't want to work so i just moved on
It’s been fully released now. It’s a great game. I’d give it another chance.
perhaps
The PVE element is really nice. Having the option to go into the extraction with a level of safety is nice and when you want to draw some blood then you have that option. They also have arenas now.
all bloat zero substance

Anybody know any other games similar and fun like enshrouded. I pretty much finished the game and don’t know what else to play as fun.
Valheim is an easy recommend. It's still in early access but it has plenty of content
windrose demo is pretty fun
valheim is a test of patience.
Windrose and Guardians of the Wild Sky are 2 upcoming survival builders out with demos on steam right now that would fit the bill of Enshrouded like.

i just played windrose demo
combat could use work, in fact i was never a fan of animated combat, wish they went more with chivalry type to some extent. stamina based is good though.
everything else looks good
building is good, simply because they have grid placement
and snap to object
like the very basic thing that you need in a building game. not sure if you can snap to grid furniture. but it's not that important.
im gonna try transfer the demo save to the windrose save when i get the game, and hope it works
repeating all that grindy crap would be annoying
it's fun, but a tad grindy
the teleport system definitely welcome
stat and talent system is nice, like using guns etc.
clothing and upgrades are nice
their hair models suck, why do people do hair like it's 2008 game?
unreal engine, and you cant get better hair?
is that normal?
someone good with game design can answer that? @tepid wadi
oh yeah BG3 has better hair
yeah i dont understand the hair, in a modern game? is it just to save performance?
if they fixed the character models/hair, the game would be better
yes, anything that moves, flickers, or glows in an online game causes performance issues for the servers.
hopefully they add mods
community can make me a body mods to improve the textures, and hair models
sucks we need to rely on modders to optimize the game and make good hair/body assets
was the same in skyrim
Cost benefit analysis. Mediocre/bad hair styles are going to cause VERY few people to drop the game, and better hair either takes a ton of work or has performance and/or clipping problems.
So it can be costly to fix AND it doesnt really sell more copies. Unless your game is BIG on dress up / heavy roleplaying, its an easy feature to cut.
Clipping with all the pirate hats is probably a big concern.
tbh i'd rather have clipping than bad hair
i did pirate RP for years on ultima online
so survival/multiplayer game? if they add pvp, then yeah character creator is important.
I played that game when the demo came out last time, it was quite fun and silly
not surprisingly it plays well on controller
Yeah, that makes sense for sure

im pretty excited for windrose
ive thoroughly enjoyed it
i think i havent had this much fun since like skyrim
i typically do female characters, because i have more names for them
but i also do male chars
but december 31st, killer wait
i wish they sat on the demo until summer lol
Windrose is definitely fun. Can't wait until EA.
since i was budgeting game spending this year, i guess december EA release works for me, it means i can buy the game in jan, and the cost will apply to next years budget.
Oh we don't know when the EA release will be. It could be December, it could be before.
last year i spent $160
i want to get that down to 120 or less or even $100 this year max
that will lower the $160 to 130
so i have to choose my games wisely
Chiv was a lot more condensed fun that didn't require so much like Gloria Victus which i liked
im curious what they're going to do to actually help GV be successful this time around
i never bought chivalry 2
i played 1, and then sort of was like meh torn banner. they sort of dropped the ball on no more room in hell 2.
might be the first EA title where buying the game basically was worth the cost of the game and thats it, for me.
whereas most EA games i get, end up being worth 1000 times more than what i paid for it, and are hours of fun.
i had PZ for like 7 years and hated it
tried it again in 2022 or something, loved it
shame mordhau died off but i didnt play it that much. i am less and less interested in deathmatch games as the years go on.
but that combat system........... 🤤
hytale has been pissing me off
why is this company being lame and updating their patch notes only on twitter, and not even their own website? wish i could get a refund just for this.
game is quickly entering my shit list for this
kinda weird to judge a game by the approach of its social media department.
not sayin its a good approach of the company.
but doesnt realy have anything to do with the games quality in generall.
yeah, i can still boycott good games
for their business decisions or marketing choices or how they handle customer service or whatever this would fall into.
they have a website, and discord, and they upload all pre-release patch notes to twitter? just screams of 'use twitter', how about no and f you
you do you.
if the planet was going to explode, and a spacex rocket was available to take me away. i would choose to die. so yeah i will do what i want to do.
i got my principles.
Yeah, I really enjoyed Mordhau of what i played
I honestly thought it was better than Chiv
ya
I never got into Mordhau, but I had a couple friends who really liked it.
Today we take a closer look at Sea of Remnants, an upcoming Pirate adventure RPG. Wishlist the game here: https://bit.ly/4k313ge Thanks to NetEase Games for sponsoring this video. #SeaofRemnants #SoR
too adventure action, overproduction
still think windrose is 100 times better
also fantasy elements, not into fantasy much
i wouldn't really call it a pirate game, maybe pirate folktale/fantasy or something
i just find fantasy weird, im all into simulation/realism
fantasy is like imposing someones imagination on me, feels overbearing, overwhelming to me.
okay the turn based makes it a japanese game now
turn based + weird fantasy is basically chrono trigger/crono cross, final fantasy lol
especially if you throw steampunk in
that changes the dynamic, those games can be fun
those games are also story based more
dont' you play NMS?
isn't that fantasy?
or is it specific to certain content?
like Enshrouded is purely fantasy.. Valheim
XD
eh, it's more like i am just slow to get into it the more fantasy it is, the more it takes for me to adjust
gotcha
there is fantasy based in realism, and then bat shii fantasy that is surrealism or the world is more made up.
i dunno, there is levels
i like norse mythology etc, so i dont really consider it too fantasy in valheim
so if you like the fantasy theme, you dont mind it
but once i saw that game is turn based combat, and probably more story based, it changes the whole dynamic
which norse mythology is right? fantasy
like i enjoyed final fantasy, chrono cross, crono trigger etc.
yeah
i also enjoy norse stuff a lot as well
i am not sure how i would feel about a heavy realism game though
i was looking at this game
how would i feel about a game, that exists just to be reality of that time period?
literally a game made for people who do war re-enactments lol
fantastic game
or for people who are historians
i dont like it though haha
i tried multiple times now at this point to get into it but I can't
oh you have it?!
haha yeah
i wonder if that is how i would feel, or if i would like it
yeah i bought it to support the devs
bc its very well made
I also played the first one which was way more janky
nice
yeah i think it could be fun too, i was only in the beginning of the video giving first impressions
i think im probably gonna get windrose this year, maybe deliverance 2, and vintage story
i do want that voyager game
does that voyager game have a demo
no demo 🙁
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game in which the fate of the iconic starship is in your hands. Take the helm, manage the ship and resources, and make difficult decisions. Will you be able to bring home the ship and its crew?“What if?” Scenarios

$31.49
2373
Voyager looks fun
Too many games atm to play though
Going through RE9 atm
and then Crimson Desert is coming up
as well as Raccoin
i didnt mind xcom, or fallout shelter
and voyager game has similar mechanics with building/upgrading ship i think
Xcom is fantastic
been playing them for years at this point
Terror from the Deep was my first one back in 95 or something
it was way long ago XD
imo of all the time periods to do a historically accurate game with no fantasy/sci fi elements renaissance era and middle ages is a no for me
you seam more like a low fantasy guy
i'm just a contradiction of moods
i like fantasy if i think about it
initially i thought LOTR was mediocre lets say 7/10 to put a visual to my feeling, but in later years it grew on me a lot, so i think it's closer to 8/9 out of 10. Meanwhile i always liked chronicles of Prydain, which is basically LOTR but Welsh mythology based. Always liked DND. I liked movies like never ending story (high fantasy) and Princess Bride. But then I really disliked Stardust.
i'm probably into fantasy but just can't express well what i dislike about specific things in fantasy that sometimes arise.
starwars is fantasy, i always liked starwars, even before i liked star trek probably.
i think conan the barbarian is fantasy, like that.
red sonja etc.
one of my favourite cartoons is fantasy
This adaptation of a classic children's book is adorable!
All rights belong to the creators
i'm very familiar with the snowman i try to watch it every decemeber
my feeling is
i think i dont like fantasy that is illogical, or just imaginative to the extreme. like sort of childrens make believe type? you shot me, and suddenly i just have a forcefield, and now a giant dinosaur is coming to eat you. and like what the hell slow down.
yet they had something exactly like this in toy story and it fit well
but i think stardust is more of that type of fantasy, which is why i didn't like it
it might also be different with games compared to movies? but hell zelda is pretty fantasy, and i always loved zelda. or pokemon.
hell if i know 🤣
it's hard to know myself lol
all these movies or games i listed, are probably the best of the best though
like considered very good, popular
have deeper themes and meanings
(Except conan maybe)
conan tragically 6/10 on imdb
and don't i know it i gave up trying to fit in box ages and came to the conclusion i just don't
i like a lot of horror films, and they are fantasy basically
just a type of fantasy
imo ratings are always full of shit
interesting, i was looking at another pirate MMO, with tons of negative reviews about it being P2W and some ships costing $8000
windrose was smart to get away from the MMO genre, i think i like it precisely because it's not an mmo and so that changed the style and feel of the game. but they should probably try and support 200 player servers or something.
Yeah a few people I know have been playing it and really seem to be enjoying it
TEAR DOWN TOGETHER!
Teardown Multiplayer launches March 12 and turns Teardown into a fully destructible playground for up to 12 players. Team up to tackle the campaign in co-op, jump into competitive modes like Deathmatch and Capture the Flag or unleash pure creative chaos in Sandbox Mode across every map.
But this is more than an update. It...
It has been fun playing the Demo of Windrose
but does that help at all in combat?
Well if Enshrouded taught me anything, "don't get hit" is a pretty potent playstyle. XD
I mean if you spend every other round with your hands on your knees, bent over and gasping for air, it's not a very sustainable strategy I guess
Pfft, make that your teammates' problem. If you're a proper rogue-analogue you snatching the McGuffin may be worth their troubles. 😸
can you outrun the acid spray from the trap though?
Half the time! 😹
Now I want to make a character with the same traits but yanged to the yin. Strategically Slow.
you can still fight. you just cant use your movement speed. 😉
Not gonna lie that sounds like a interesting concept for a Anime.
Toronto, 20XX. The city has been taken over by 3 rival gangs - the VEGANS, the ROBOTS, and the DEMONS. But who’s behind this madness? When Scott Pilgrim’s bandmates are abducted by shadowy forces, a brand-new adventure begins!

Yup! Just played the demo and had a great time beating them up XD
i dont understand
why would they let his character be a roadrunner from buggs bunny?
maybe i should play DND as the flash then from dc?
everything else legally obtained through dnd rules doesn't matter if you can base your character on overpowered things already?
or is it just that a tabaxi monk is overpowered? sounds like the game sucks at balancing then?
if i was that monk moving 450 feet, id just move out of every battle range. and not come back.
Thats the point of the post. The character is technically "rules as written".
thats if we take their word for it
but im not about to double check their interpretation of the rules
5E dnd sucks anyway
Guardians of the Wild Sky is keeping their demo live a little longer due to popularity.
we’re going to keep the demo live for an extra two weeks, wrapping up on March 16th at 10AM EST
hopefuly they can adjust before launch
that bad huh
it would need a complete overhaul, redesign, scope change... and even graphic style rework.
as the graphic style itself puts you to sleep
extremely empty feeling all around
ship customization pretty terrible
of course they have a challenge with a space game. how to make a space game fun and not feel empty.
but it felt like mass effect 1 resource gathering
that empty.
their demo was a fetch quest to add a sensor to your ship
horrible idea for a demo
rofl what are these game devs thinking i swear
they start you at a space station, and you run down a long hallway, by the time you get to the end, you are bored.
rofl it's just not good
better start should have been you start on your damaged ship and need to repair it or something. and you immediately start ship building.
but even with that, i think they have nothing there. nothing interesting. they based their whole premise on corporation debt. and doing things for a corporation.
factory sims typically have that
Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1805110/Solarpunk/
Solarpunk is a calm survival craft game in a technically advanced world of floating islands. Live in harmony with nature and use sunlight & wind to create an energy system and automate your processes like gathering ressoureces and watering your plants.
Built this with my friends in No Man’s Sky. Don’t know if you know you could do stuff like this in that game lol
Long before Neoterra placed its banner here, this valley was a crossroads.
The mountain pass did not forgive haste. Storms rolled in without warning. Sentinels watched from the ridgelines. Travelers who tried to push through alone often did not return.
So they stopped here....
At first out of necessity. Then out of tradition.
The castle rose...
looks like it could be good, it has a demo
ill give it a go

I'll have to play that eventually. I have it I just haven't ever put the time in.
i played it
it's okay
but it's one of those games that doesn't really have any motivation
unless your motivation is building, there is no reason to play it
like it falls flat somehow, but hard to pin down how, and hard to say if it will be good when released. or if the demo is representative very well.
"Vibes are off" is a perfectly fine reason to not enjoy a game, for sure.
i don't really think its a feeling thing though
i think most people will have same conclusion about the demo
i wonder if it's just a lack of music lol i can't recall if it had music
usually you play a demo for a good game, and you can see the vision or the potential, and you can list off ways it will be amazing.
could just be the premise of the game is boring.
you're on a sky island. the only thing to do is cut trees, mine, research, make a house, build things. and maybe go to the next island. but what for? is it ANNO where you are going to other islands to unlock new types of resources? to build new things?
this in itself is very boring without a purpose.
unless your main draw to a game is building, basically.
and i am a builder, just i don't think a game that has only that can hook me for long.
small sky islands = no exploration potential. flying to other islands doesn't interest me much when they all look the same.
i like the idea of clean energy systems, but thats not a motivation to play
seeing 1 chicken, that i can potentially tame later and get eggs from? yeah maybe that's nice. but i can just close the game and go play hytale. and get all of that too.
like hytale is offering a game, not just a building sandbox
the game/demo has no faults, like nothing was terrible. it was okay.
One of Steam’s most wishlisted upcoming games (with almost 1 million Wishlists and counting!), Solarpunk is a calm, open-world crafting experience set among floating islands and gentle technology. Since its reveal, the game has captured the hearts of cozy and survival gamers worldwide, building a passionate community and rising to the top of Steam’s most-wishlisted charts, all created by a small, dedicated two-person team
hey maybe im wrong, but yeah cozy is correct lol
Some people specifically want cozy games, yeah
i guess my whole critique just described a whole genre
like that tiny game
i was thinking its probably like that tiny glade game
I mean, "Tiny glade, but a 3rd person game with sky islands" is a pretty reasonable pitch
i was also getting slight house flipper vibes from the trailer
and then there is this one

If you escape, will they call you god? Marathon launches worldwide on March 5.

The full Marathon O...
my friend is playing marathon
he like it?
My general opinion is that it's not as genre advancing as Arc Raiders is, and it feels more like a "Standard" extraction game. If Arc Raiders had never come out, I might be excited for it, but the bar has been raised.
solarpunk devs "man we spent hours on this game to realize it's boring... what do we do?"
marketing "no not boring, PEACEFUL"
do get a lot of Arc Raiders type vibes from it
Peaceful Farming & Crafting - Grow food, craft gadgets, and automate gentle systems at your own pace.
Fans looking to experience the peaceful world of Solarpunk can download the PC demo on Steam now. During the demo, players can explore Solarpunk at their own pace, crafting cozy structures in the clouds, experimenting with solar panels, windmills, and cable connectors, and gently progressing through the game’s tech trees to unlock new building options and decorative touches. Whether you’re farming, decorating, or drifting between islands in your airship, everything is designed to be calm, welcoming, and refreshingly unhurried.
i should have read this before i tried the demo lol
gentle systems lol
The only thing I actively dislike about Marathon is the art style. It's just not for me.
Not that it's BAD. I just don't like it
they just need collaboration with mr rogers (if he were still alive) or bob ross.
Marathon feels like just another extraction but it has very little similarities that I would ever find it giving me arc raiders feels
Its not nearly as casual and is way more pvevp
You 95% of the time you find another player, you are going to fight them
Yeah, I don't think it FEELS like Arc Raiders, but I think Arc Raiders did things in a unique/interesting way and that raised the bar from what I want from an extraction game.
It was a response to Tobruk's "I get a lot of arc Raiders vibes from it"
I would honestly put them on opposite sides in terms of extraction games
I mean, extraction is a pretty narrow genre in general
i think i actually hate extraction games
glad i could get that off my chest
i also dislike pubg type games
and mobas
basically slop gaming to me 😄
EA releases, no triple A titles. all the way.
the only exception to extraction games is maybe zombie coop extractions.
but even those can be trash.. it really depends.
only a specific thing works for me in that genre
and it is official
https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/highguard-shut-down/
Yeah, we all saw that coming with the big layoff.
I agree but arc raiders is extremely different than tarkov
I would put marathon between but closer to tarkov

i played guardians of the wild sky
800 square km world, lots of content, the demo only lets you play for 8 hours, then you reset. looks like it was a pokemon/palworld/zelda concept.
i want to like the game, but it's just immediately frustrating. the UI is garbage and everything is not that intuitive.
the building system is horrible.
the snapping and rotation system is trash
everything else was good, but without a good UI/intuitive control system or building system, it really makes anything else that's good harder to enjoy.
for example took awhile to learn how to use glider and up drafts, took most of the playthrough to realize i need to slot guardians into my base. took most of the play through to learn how to feed animals not at your base etc. took awhile to learn how to work the job board.
took a bit to understand fibre comes from bushes, still no clue why arrow regenerate when i never crafted any.
im not sure i would play the game even if it was free. like i still have 3 more hours of a demo on the same playthrough, and im not interested in continuing. despite there still being demo content to explore.
"Guardians of the Wild Sky" is a super cool name, too bad it doesn't hold up
it can be a good game. i just dont see them putting in 8 months of work to redo the ui, and overhaul building entirely.
btw this is my unbias opinion of the demo. meaning i didn't see the store page even, beyond the pressing install the demo button. i didnt have time to look at the trailer, or even scroll to the reviews or read any. i didnt even glance at the game rating, which is mostly positive (which i saw after i played the demo).
basically my friend said lets try guardians of the wild sky, so i went there quick and downloaded it. and we hopped in. within 5 minutes i was complaining 🤣 my poor friend lol
and then 1 hour later, my friend was like. I think you are right. the UI is very bad.
took me like 5 minutes to clock the game
and its problems
then this morning i read some reviews, and the negative comments basically say the same thing. i actually didn't expect there to be any reviews? i guess it's out in EA already?
oh no it's not
but they have reviews enabled? most games don't
The demo opens up a curated portion of the world, giving you access to several islands within a defined boundary. While the full game spans 800+ square kilometers, this slice is designed to showcase exploration, building, and progression without holding the experience back. You wake up in a morgue with half the river in your boots, surrounded by ten thousand rotting apples, several corpses, and one zombie. Out of your depth and with no official backup, you delve into your beloved city to investigate the impossible mystery no one wants you to solve. Juggle factions and play them against each other. Explore the streets and tunnels of a fantasy metropolis. where have i heard this before?

PLANESCAPE TORMENT
definitely a more unique game start, usually it's beach or prison
Damn. I figured you would be all about it!
Too many games to play. I was gonna also pick up Pokopia before Crimson Desert
No. Single-player
I have to say I enjoyed my single player campaigns of BG3 over playing with friends all the time
I think it'd be hard to do that sort of immersiveness with multiplayer
Yeah. Choices matter but you aren't making them XD
i also played BG3 2-3 times and quit before act 3 each time 🤣
i dont know if i like rpg games anymore lol, hasnt been 1 i completed since BG2.
Yeah. I remember you complaining about BG3 a lot
We dont need to rehash that convo
but also that took 4 playthroughs
my problem is i play a game, quit, and then instead of reloading save and having to figure out where i left off which is disorienting. i decide to restart
so i have often 6 restarts, and no finishes
im trying to force myself to load saves i already have and go through the pain of 1 hour of getting my bearings again
so this way i can complete games more
Makes sense. Losing 1 hour of time versus a 40 hour save
yeah exactly
part of it was i dont remember what happened sometimes. or i just wanted a none disconnected experience of the game. which might work if i actually didn't stop playing halfway through.
but given that my pattern is always that i stop playing, it wont work to get a none disconnected playthrough, so i might as well load the save and do a disconnected playthrough.
and i am talking like disconnected, sometimes, where i stopped playing for 1 year. like BG3.
so ideally if i play BG3 again, i'd start right at act 3.
but i sort of remember the story at least.

"Can also play PC games" My dude, casting your PC to your TV has existed for a LONG time. That's just a prebuilt PC
pretty much what i was thinking as well
I mean at least they are sticking with PC games compared to Sony pulling back from PC releases. Which makes no sense.
yeah'
That area is like a weird ocean. Some of the pillars are like little reefs in some of the void areas
Makes sense to me tbh. All that dev time and money to port to PC to have extremely lackluster sales compared to their console ecosystem. Probably tryna prevent people from just using that new Xbox to play Sony games.
In case anyone here played ARC Raiders, if you connected it to your Discord account, break that connection and change your password, and then find the file here and nuke it. Not only are they storing (and possibly transmitting) all your discord messages including private DMs, but they are storing a token that lets basically anyone get in and read everything you do and change your settings.
https://timothymeadows.com/arc-raiders-discord-sdk-data-exposure/
Summary During gameplay of Arc Raiders, private Discord Direct Message (DM) conversations between two users were found being written in plaintext to a local game log file. Additionally, a full Discord Bearer authentication token was found stored in the same log file. These findings represent serious privacy and security violations
it was patched as well
well i just heard about it so i thought i'd share. ive never played arc.
yeah, it is very concerning.
hytale wants you to link accounts too
they stripped their discord to 1 channel non linked can use and the idiot simon keeps posting pre patch notes on twitter

i'm getting elitist rich person vibes from this game dev lol
oh okay they finally put patch notes in the launcher
oh okay account linking is different from 'integration' in arc raiders case, they had full integration with discord.

This looks interesting. Has anyone played it? Is it any good??
I haven't played it since it released, it may have improved since then but I wasn't terribly impressed at the time.
Thanks for the honest review, good to know. I'll save my pennies.
i played it. it's alright?
i want to play it more, but ya I lost interest fast. XD I need someone to play it with me.
It looked kinda interesting. I dunno, it's only 20 bucks, but if people here say it aint that great ...... probably not worth it.

this one was going to be sooooooooooo cool.
I dont know how playable it is, but it's free. and has a lot of neat ideas.
Yea, free. I'll defo try that. got nothing to lose if it costs nothing lol.
yup.
Thx for the suggestion🍻
it has this really cool vehicle building thing that i never figured out cause it's complicated. like 3D modeling type of quality level.
and laying down blocks has a really nice system.
plut the aesthetics are nice.
It's 10 years old soooo hopefully any bug's would be ironed out by now.
well, some stuff went down during development, something with the engine or something, so the game was kind of abandoned.
i paid like 20 bucks for it hoping it would be amazing like enshrouded is.
now it's free.......
I'll download it tonight and boot it up tomorro. I'll let you know what I think after I've given it a run

not a lot to it but you can try lots of different load outs.

the shield was nerfed and is still OP, you can throw your sword (no reload for the guns) and you can customize your game modes.
you can also download player made maps from the workshop.
there's very little to the core of the game but tons of customization.
