Yeah, if you ignore all the negative buzz about MTX and saves and junk, the actual game itself is very good.

I haven't seen a need to use any of the MTX items yet; it'll obviously be frustrating if I do, but based on how I understand the game to work it doesn't feel like any of them will be necessary.

@sweet pivot i prefer alliance, but most of my friends want to play horde. Alliance has the prettier cities/hubs and they are nicer. i remember at the beginning of MoP when the alliance was like "let's save our prince" and horde was like "let's drench this continent in blood!". Meh!

okay so i have some problems with dragon dogma 2 that i hope mods will fix soon

  1. levling seems too fast and not very ...specific to actual combact
  2. too many panws come up asking to recutit them or whatever the diaglog is
  3. im traveling with 2 other pawns and there is a lot going on in the battle field...which is expected i guess but without a dodge button...hard to navigate it all
  4. low key wish friendly fire was turned off.....granted that would make things hard

FF Tactics is insane with some of the builds people use with Calculator class and the other job skills. I like the game, but it was very difficult for me as a child/teen years.

they nerfed the railgun so much that to kill a charger it went from 3 shots to 6 shots. that's not good development policy. maybe you do slight nerfs in a game, but 3 to 6 shots is a huge difference, it's basically a statement saying "you shouldn't use railguns to kill a charger". ideally you balance games by adding more mobs/new mobs that are more difficult, at least that's how i would do it. if i want the game to be harder i would add more spawn/harder mobs, not nerf guns i think are overpowered, and then at the same time leave EATs as the most OP overpowered thing ever. lol now everyone just uses EATs.

basically all special weapons besides eats, and the other rocket launcher are essentially not worth it/terrible.

the material rifle is OP on automatons but lacks severely by comparison with bugs for no apparent reason. i wish the mat rifle came with 3 special rounds, that 3 shot titans, and 1 shot chargers (in a tiny hit box on their head). and the only way to replenish those is to call in a new gun.

and then if it's too 'overpowered' just add more mobs, because having 46+ EATS per a mission is more overpowered than what i just suggested imo.

also today a bile titan died, and i just touched 1 pixel of its leg a nano second after it fell down - it was already on the ground and still, and i instantly died 😄 the game is trollish 😦 (and i even had full charge shield on too).

I did a mission today and it felt like CONSTANT combat. Maybe thats just the automatons but it felt relentless.

I think its okay for support weapons to have different roles, like I like the grenade launcher because it can close bug holes and automaton spawners from 10 miles away.

You have to hit the weak spot with the grenades, you can unload a whole clip into their fave and it does nothing.

and that's just not the case and also it only means that solo the only viable thing is eats, or stealth and avoid fighting

like basically autocanon is trash after difficulty 7 anyway, and before that you're sacrificing backpack support, close range on special, and reload potentially, unless you always reload after 5 shots, and switch weapons a lot, but basically it's not a weapon to bring unless your team can carry it's weaknesses.

plus it was just weird finding out autocanon explodes but has no explode tag.

Okay so I did a escort quest and I swear the dude was trying to get me killed.

First a griffon attacked and killed the dude I was escorting so I had to waste a stone reviving him. Then he took us by a chimera that attacked.

Finally right as I got him to the cave he wanted to go to a dragon jumped in the way of the entrance and attacked.

There are some performance issues but if you have a good CPU you should be fine. The biggest drop in FPS seems to be in big cities but most of the time in those cities I'm at like 60 fps but it will randomly dip to 42 fps. Outside of those cities I'm anywhere between 75-95 FPS

Yeah, personally I don’t care either way, although I feel like a lot of people don’t realize everything can be earned in game. It wasn’t just the mtx, it was the fact there’s not a new game option, no multiple save files. Something literally everyone expects on a modern single player rpg. So their criticism is valid in that regard. It’s been stated though the devs are implementing a new game option, as well as rumors they’re adding multiple save slots.

The onus is on you to not use abilities that are 'OP' if you want a challenge in combat.

The curse of knowledge fell_cry I'm kinda in the same boat where a lot of common tricks and tropes to lengthen gameplay time only make me bored lol, because I immediately recognize what's going on and feel like it's wasting my time. I usually gravitate towards games that are heavily reliant on gameplay mastery or frequently change things up for that reason.

Yeah, I can confirm that if it's been a few years, there's a lot more going on. More world variety, more stuff to do. The worlds still feel a little "stale" because they're basically all 1.5 biomes (the "main" biome and then 1-2 sub-biomes that have slightly different features)

But I think we'll have to wait for Light No Fire to see a more fully fleshed out proc-gen world. I'm pretty stoked for that.

Yeah... if it comes out this year I'm going to bet that it's going to be like NMS 1.0. That said though, I think the fact that NMS has seen continual development shows that even if it's a "miss" on release, they'll keep working on it.

But I'd be happy to be surprised and that it comes out awesome. My friends and I have often chatted about how it would be amazing to see the power of NMS's procedural generation creating a single world instead of a universe. It's an amazing prospect.

Yeah, those aren't even close to the scale that Light No Fire is looking at though. And they've said that things like mountains might take hours to scale. You can ride across the entire Elden Ring map in 30 minutes, and you can teleport all over the place.

Everyone kind of has their own tolerance for what they think is "bad" p2w, like some people think catch up boosts and stuff. I personally dont mind cosmetic mtx because it isnt creating an imbalanced environment

Path of Exile is a pretty good example. If they say, sold a campaign skip, that would be toxic p2w, because it gives a leg up to people who buy it. And then they can affect other players negatively by imbalancing the economy because of money.
