typical simple german breakfast would be just bread with something on it (german bread is alot different (better) than american bread... (all you guys have we call toast or variations of it lul)
or we have Müsli wich is a mix of oat flakes and nuts ususally, sometimes with chocolate flakes or dried berries and milk added. (like oatmeal just not cooked/overnight soaked)
And tea or coffee to got with this.
I am not a big breakfast person usually only on weekends i take time to make it. my bf works hard and he deserves good breakfasts on the weekend.
muesli is commonly found in most Western countries @drifting osprey, it's just that the brands making it have more or less healthy options (my childhood favorite was a Kellogs brand called Country Store, that was loaded with brown sugar... yummm 🤤 )

Basically, granola is what we call the finished product of oats, nuts, seeds, and other mixins that are usually baked and then stored. Then you mix those with fruit or other fresh things, add milk, and eat it like a cereal. You can also eat it dry as a sort of trail mix.
You can buy granola at the store, but it's waaay better home made

It was okay. I didn't realise the seasoning i added already had salt in so it was a little salty but my dog helped finish it off. He loved it. He doesn't always get human food but when he does, he loves it. Especially when it chicken pasta 😋

We just call it frozen pizza, I think. Unless you mean something more obscure. We usually keep a couple in the freezer just in case we end the day with zero energy to make real food.

Yeah, struggle days happen. Especially on Wednesdays. My personal go to is always cheese, pepperoni and crackers. Less mental effort than making a sandwich, even if you're effectively making a bunch of little sandwiches 😝

Avocado seems pretty inoffensive, it doesn't really have a strong flavor so I don't think it would disagree with other toppings
I could see it being good if you were doing like, a garden or veggie pizza but still wanted to have some oily fatty texture

I've only experienced canned haggis but it was delicious. Reminded me of corned beef hash but less greasy and more depth

I’ve never had it yet. It’s not something you find in this part of the world. We have instead a curry made from gizzards and intestines that are cleaned and boiled. Quite good.

That's why I compared it to corned beef hash. It's just greasy fatty beef ground up and mixed with potatoes, but if you throw enough salt and pepper on that and let the potatoes soak up the fat, it's pretty amazing xD

@waxen night Being born and raised in SW Louisiana, I've been making roux since I was about 12 or so years old. The trick is don't take your eye off of it if you are going for the dark roux like I make for gumbos.

Actually no. I'm almost 70 and before I got interested enough in family history, most of the main players all passed away.
He was from Norway and immigrated to Chicago in the late 1800s early 1900s. I'd have to look it up but it was about the turn of the last century.

Crab cake
I just don't mix the bread crumb in with it. The crab meat is loose and gets seared in a ring mold in clarified butter, flipped, and finished in the oven. It's a pain to keep from crumbling but the final product is really nice.

Being born and raised in SW Louisiana, not far from the Gulf, we pretty much lived off of blue crabs, shrimp, crawfish and other seafoods. My mother use to make killer crab cakes or stuffed crabs. Unfortunately I live in the north now and all that stuff now is not quite available on the scale it was back then.

They're tasty. Good food for a cold day.

Tri tips are wonderful! If it will be your first time cutting them there is a picture online that helps guides cutting it properly because the grain changes

There was no special technique involved, I marinated the steak, then cooked it in my cast iron pan.

Honey garlic Chicken thighs nestled on top of potatoes omg 🤤 it was a hit. Those potatoes soak up some of the honey garlic sauce and absorb all that goodness from the chicken as well. Would recommend.

Lemme recommend something to y'all. Strawberry Jam is very easy to make (strawberry halves + sugar on medium heat for 12-15 mins). Make a layer of brownie mix, top it off with strawberry jam, and then another layer of brownie so the jam becomes a filling. It took minimal effort and tastes crazy good

Heh i will clarify. I went for a nightime walk, walked 7m in the snowy streets and went to a Burger King and ordered a whopper. I stayed there for a while. But i didnt want to eat all food at once, and cheeseburgers are not good in Burger King, and are cheaper st McDonald's, which was maybe 700 meters away. I wanted a change of scenery and walked there. I ordered two double cheeseburgers there. So i ate the whopper maybe 45 minutes earlier than those cheeseburgers.
After that i walked to a grocery stote maybe 3,5-4 km away, waited till it openee, bought stuff and took early morning bus home since groceries were too much to carry on foot. Had fun nightly walk

Well, when life gives you lemons (or in this case soft-boiled eggs), you make these apparently.
I was going for Egg salad made with soy curred Eggs, unfortunately the farm bought eggs I picked up were too inconsistent and required a much longer cook time. So instead we made the most out of the added ingredients.
In the second one I added garlic sauerkraut, it was a good addition.
Looks like a pretty good way to salvage them
