So I was finally going to look into getting A PC. Crazy I know, since I've been saying that for forever and what a time with this RAM issue. Are pre-builts acceptable to start with? Of couse, I suppose depending on it's spec.

What Killercod says, some if not most pre-builts do not use off the shelf parts and are a pain to upgrade in the future. (Proprietary PSU/Cables and Mainboards, insufficient cooling solutions that make more noise than necessary, weird custom GPU coolers (sometimes)).

And they sometimes are misconfigured generally. Like a single stick of RAM instead of 2 to get dual channel memory going.

Personally would never ever touch a prebuilt again. But that is my opinion.

I'm not up to date on CPU comparisons, as most of my usage isn't CPU intensive and typically in the past, for CPU intensive stuff Intel has been better, but for gaming purposes, AMD has always been a strong option and the cheaper nature is the biggest lure.

that is only true for pre 2024 chipsets: as of 2024 amd has surpassed nvidia and intel. there cpus and gpus have less known probems for that years line up

since all the pc requirements are now a 2024 and up chipset(windows 11 actuall require a 12gig gpu to run at peak and best performance on all apps)
ultra 7 and ryzen 7

so that leave the ryzen 7 and amd 6000+ series as the lowest pc part as best gaming pc parts. you can go with the other parts marker but you will face the problems, and btw intel only now support ultra core 7 cpus, and they have known issues,(and intel gpus are low end and have insane issues with unity)

The VRAM size of a GPU has no bearing on its compatibility with DX12. That's entirely dependent on the GPU Core. It only matters when you're dealing with the resolution you're running. You need 8GB at a minimum for 1080p, and you only need 12 when you're looking at 1440p or 4K.

again i managed to get a coder for windows 11 to help me under stand how windows 11 work. you need a 12 gig gpu, because of the fact that microsoft has updated alot of its core features with ai assistive technology, and it run it with.001% gpu in the back round. I went to the taskmaster windows app to comfirm.. so again why are you arguing with the tech maker... they made the tech, if they state you need 12gig gpu, you need a 12 gig gpu... you internet actuall uses you gpus vram cache, and most web browers updated to ai assistive technology(which require more vram and basic ram)

since most games use unity, or unreal. those both reqiure a 12 gig gpu (mini, not best features)

as for help pages listing most website makers make you jump thru 2-or more pages, because it generate ad revenue, microsoft is the worse offender:

for a very specific pc building issue i had to jump thru 28 pages total, and it created over 500 ad cookies that i had to go in and manually delete.... because it filled by 8g vram cache

again the world of computers is very interlinked... so its not just one company setting restrictions. its multiple...

They're always getting read before they get merged/approved/whatever. The way featureupvote is setup, I try to keep it so that approved tickets are actionable, meaning they have a clear, single end goal. I.E "I want the game to add shurikens", or something. There's a clear goal, and if the team ever adds shuriken, we'd be able to mark it as complete. A lot of people submit tickets that are a laundry list of ideas, or just general feelings on how they want certain aspects of the game to be "better", without clear goals. I don't delete those, but since they have no realistic end goal, I merge them into the megathread to avoid having tickets that are just stuck in limbo forever.

Generally speaking, the broader the concept, the better.

For example, just general feedback like "I think greatswords feel like they should do a bit more damage" is honestly more useful to us than "This specific greatsword should be buffed by 3 slashing damage" or something lol.

Our team is designers who have access to all the metrics and data they could ask for for tweaking numbers and stuff, so the kind of feedback that's much more useful to us is what players in general want or how they feel. And, with feature upvote, more general tickets allow more players to agree on the same want or feeling, like J Hart said.

We don't need to be told exactly what to do when it comes to feedback, we have professional designers for the nitty gritty details like that. The kind of feedback we care about is what players are feeling or what they want.

Yes for me the house building is a 9.5 extremely user-friendly and very veryyy dynamic and flexible

Character class building is a 7, most things on the skill tree feel pretty underwhelming, but at least there is diversity.

Combat for me is a 6.5, compared to other survival games which are also pretty underwhelming it's more than passable, but compared to any actual RPG esc game it feels very.. repetitive and samey, a whple lot of enemies standing around doing nothing, stealth is an afterthought, and magic seems to have strange inconsistencies with the animations.

Exploration is imo a 7, you will occasionally find beautiful landscapes to explore but they are few n far from, the artistic style of the game cuts back some of the awe inspiring beauty u can get in some games. Alot of things are very samey after a while per region.

Loot and Grind is a 5 imo.. 90% of loot is aweful or useless, like scrolls and most bombs. Any region that isn't what your current level and depth into the game the loot is basically completely irrelevant since u can't level boost gwar to ur current level nor is their a level scaling system in the settings for older regions.

I honestly really enjoy not having mounts in the game because of those reasons. The spacing of the spires and the number of "home" locations you can have makes it easy enough to get around imo. But I'm also a dirty cheater and die with my inventory in-tact.
