But they've pulled it off. It's an impressive feat. But it's also probably requiring a lot of time to polish.

Not entirely. The water in Valheim is actually an illusion in most cases. The world map is a flat plane of water and what they do is build up terrain to cover it, which is why if you can dig down far enough you'll always hit water.
