It's so annoying to remove blocks that you already placed down just because you want to use a different material. But if you was able to swap blocks just by aiming at the one you are looking at with a button, oh that will make building so much more comfy

It's absolutely below average comparatively. Ranger has bow and daggers. A solid to upper tier ranged option, with a solid to upper-mid melee option. Melee can absolutely destroy. SnS gives a defensive option while 2h melee has the highest damage output in the game. Mage? You have staff and wand and both are underpowered

Like at this point, why choose mage when ranger gives you more versatility with different ammo types, and melee outclasses you in damage by far?

And I mean forget healing because potion chugging is a valid strategy. Which still bugs me, I feel like pots should have at least a 30s cooldown

It would balance so many other things if you couldn't just neck potions constantly

That's absolutely a thing. The game wasn't designed to be an "everything" game. It could become that over time but a lot of people want things that just simply aren't in the scope

I like that heal spells are in the game, but they need to stack to similar amounts as the other spells, stacking to only 40 instead of 100 for combat, and be more consistent who gets targeted for the heal channel bursts. It shouldn't waste itself on people who are full up over someone nearly dead.

Tanks being able to heal off crits is wonderful as well, so health pots tend to be the panic button on the crazy aggressive burst that can happen. Hard enemies are rough but enjoyable.

A healing wand that just fires a single heal channel bolt would be really nice

Cuz early game healers are totally helpless to keep up with the staggering cost of early game spells

Blink dodging really should phase through mobs as well...

Is it just me or is the Shroud too hard to see through now? Especially the "lava shroud" or whatever its called. Was in a tunnel and the ground looked just like everything else do to how it all blends together. The only hint I had was a different color gas, that wasn't overly obvious.

The game pretty much walks you through the essentials, but Sverkerbonk on YT has some good guides on where specific things can be found if you have trouble with them. (The dev in charge of "hiding stuff" is very good at their job) 🤣

But exploration is a decent part of the fun of the game, so your best experience with the game would be to complete it with as few guides as possible.

Just downloaded it last night, was going to play tonight after work.
But I've been reading some posts on fb, trying to get a little grasp on what I'm getting myself into, having never played.
And I saw some posts about something to do with coal and not realizing they had to swap something with something else or some item was located not in inventory but somewhere else.
Honestly, it was a bit intimidating.
So I thought a book might help me with understanding how things worked rather than me possibly fumbling around.
I considered multiplayer but I didnt have a good experience with that after Baldur's Gate 3.

I'm usually a Cyberpunk 2077, Expedition 33, Assassin's Creed person.
This is a new genre to me.
I tried Planet Zoo a while back, just the building mode, the mechanics and making things do what you wanted them to were so complex, I put it down and never picked it up again.
I liked the idea of these bases I see for enshrouded, some look so fantasy, elvish, I thought, wow! I'd love to do that.
But I don't want it to end up like planet zoo.
You know what I'm saying?

oh yeah I got you there. but the building here is pretty straightforward for the basics. It can get complex but only as complex as you want it too

There is only a slight learning curve with the building, but if you know how to build in minecraft and know that there is a hammer you can use, it's pretty much all you need to know. Every command for things is always on the screen so even old farts like me can remember which buttons to push xD

I will say this if you are looking in the creative corner or build sections here dont expect to be able to replicate styles like some of them right away. It will take some time to get used to how it al works but go at your own pace trust me once you get the build system down the sky is the limit

me too, and i have discovered that i am TERRIBLE a the "smoothing" tool...i guess it's a hoe? idk, but I'm bad at it.

It helps to turn down your small foliage to none so you can see the actual terrain better while you are doing it

Then it's just kinda a matter of trial and error. For the smaller hills though, it's patience and one stamp placed correctly here and there to get rid of the large drop offs.

I use the terrain tool instead. The rake/hoe whatever is just not for me. Lumpy mess maker is what that tool is called to me.
