That one i cant say. both have a very similar approach to the Theme. Both have their pros, and con`s, both are good in their own respective rights.
Enshrouded currently has a bigger more fleshed out world/map, and a bit more building and stuff goin on, both are still in development sooooo.. yeah.

Enshrouded is certainly much further ahead in it's development.

It really depends on what you like about games. I did not like RS Dragonwilds at all. I hate base raids, I don't like dying if I don't have enough food, I didn't like that when I broke a piece that went in the wrong spot, the mats stayed on the roof instead of returning to my inventory. That said, if you loved RS the MMO, it has the same leveling/skill type system. It's graphics are better than Valheim, and lots of people like the things I didn't like about it. If you liked Conan Exiles, it is very much like that game (although, for some reason, I liked CE and not this. Doesn't make real sense but it is what it is)

Enshrouded does not have base raids and has voxel building instead of prefab building. It still has large pieces you can use to build, but you have the option to change things one by one here and there if you want. The questing system in Enshrouded is more robust as well, tons of quests and lore to find (which I paticularly love in games). Think of Zelda Breath of the Wild, with touches of Elder Scrolls, and Minecraft all mixed into one with some it's own little twists and story.

I like base raids, but even without them I'm on team Enshrouded. Dragonwilds feels like it's treading the same Survival ground that we've had tons of survival games go over before. It's got some nice RS-inspired magic in it, but the enhancement to the experience that that brings is pretty minimal. To me, it didn't feel like there was that much to distinguish it from the other survival games out there. My whole group picked it up but after a weekend no one is even logging back into it 🤷‍♀️

Enshrouded on the other hand has the voxel system, compelling quests, and a really unique building system. The amount features that Enshrouded has now compared to it's release is huge. If you're looking at buying one of them right now then Enshrouded is definitely the play IMO. Dragonwilds may be a contender eventually but right now it feels pretty thin.

Dragonwilds is in my "early access games that show potential but don't have it down yet" category, which has a disappointing amount of survival games in it.

Oh and the crafting isn't balanced. It's too much grind, like it still thinks it is an MMO instead of a survival crafter. Not balanced enough to make crafting fun for me.

Even more because the crafting tables don't unlock things for everyone, each person has to craft it themselves and earn those points to see the next thing. That was really annoying, unless that's changed.

If you like Runescape you'll like it for that aspect, as an independent survival crafter, it doesn't really do anything that stands out from the crowd.

Yeah, raids are based on the zone you're in, not the power level you have. So you can be exploring a new zonw for the first time and get ANNIHILATED. Happened to.me

i dont know for sure, but from what ive heard weapons only activate when you use them. so i think you'd need to have the bow active in your hand. Dunno if that requires it to be on your hotbar instead of just the ranged hotkey tho.

I have noticed that when using a non fire wand (so far I've tried shock and ice) there is a significant decrease in the number of necromantic skulls that are created. I can play for 8 hours, using my current electric wand, and not summon a single skull. Is that the way that it's intended to be? There is nothing in the description of that skill to indicate it needs to be a fire based magical attack, just magical in general.

It's a 10% chance on kill to summon the skull friend. I get them with all types of wands and my staff. It's just a chance. You just may be having bad RNG right now.

I was thinking about a system that scales with the players individually, like borderlands or something. You can go to a starting area and enemies will be roughly the same but your skills make most of the difference rather than like the stat increases alone from leveling.

So that would make going back to explore a little more interesting, i see low level mobs as just an annoyance when Im doing that now. And then when you want to explore other places, you can and its not just a matter of making sure youre the right level.

I get the point of making sure people arent just breezing to the end, but I think its better if the enemies were like "elite" status or something if youre not supposed to be there. Or if there was more use of the shroud blocking progress

I liked the beginning where you have to get a grappling hook to progress (or you can just mine through or blow up the wall) because that was progression outside of leveling, i wish there was more stuff like that

I guess the NPCs cover that aspect as well

It's actually a preferred strategy. Another is to always carry some rocks and a workbench with you so you can make a temp altar, place a workbench, repair your gear, and pick both up. The rocks are because stone isn't always 100% easy to find when you need it in later biomes

(technically you delete the altar rather than picking it up, but you get what I mean)

It's useful both for combat/exploring, but also when you find a resource you're after and want to collect lots of it

Effectively, race direct to shroud roots...of course fighting everything goes towards xp gains and thus lvln our toons. But, speed racing to clear roots/wells goes towards increasing skill perks, which in turn speed up your fights...kill everything later. Just wear good gear/run the right food combo to be able to survive the dive/root chop. On my 2nd/3rd toons this system was Uber fast

Question what do people do in grps in this game? Ive found that it can be easily soloed but love the idea of grouping with people and trying a healer spec out. is it worth doing?

absolutely is. Enemy strength scales with group size, meaning more players, more bam for the buck. you can still do it the same way, but have a bit more fun in it because ur doin it together

oh cool! Ive made a pretty beefy warrior build and i feel unkillable and i pretty much one shot everything at this point and i did the same with a chain lighting mage so i thought healing would be fun but not worth doing unless i got people to heal haha

jeah. gotta admit the healspec iiiiss a bit wonky here and there, but nontheless fun to play with friends. and jeah solo it is quite easy, especially when ur geared up and stuff. but as i said. with every additional player near you health and strength of enemys scales to the groupsize

IIRC if you're having that issue there's a setting in Steam you need to adjust so it doesn't refresh the shaders every time

Both are great. V Rising is a survival game where you play as a vampire. Sunlight is deadly and the blood you drink gives you different buffs depending on what type it is. Meanwhile you're building up your castle

No Rest for the Wicked is more of a top-down souls like with an RPG type progression system

Basically looks like an ARPG, plays like souls

While both do, V Rising has absolutely excellent combat. Encounters feel engaging and fun even when you're outclassed

Last time me and my friend couldn't play together anymore because my game went from 80+fps to unstable 40.

And my friend played fine on his steam deck before and the game didn't run anywhere close to smooth last time as well.
