no. for every crafter NPC we have, they added another one, with their own name, but the exact same crafting options, so you could build a second base, and have a whole second crafting setup there without the need to bring your npcs back and forth

Hey everyone, quick question. has anyone worked on or thought about modding random world generation into Enshrouded? I know the world is handcrafted and voxel-based, so it might be tough, but I was curious if the devs have ever mentioned plans for procedural generation or if any modders have tried tackling that. Would love to know if something like that is even possible down the road, or if it's been ruled out completely.

Basically speaking, not at the moment because mods aren't really a thing. Like there are some shaders and a cheat engine or two on Nexus but because Enshrouded uses a custom engine Keen made themselves modding is especially difficult, and kind of pointless because the game is still changing and updating, so no modder is going to spend the time reverse engineering the engine only to have an update bork it in a few months

Keen have mentioned they aren't against the idea of a mod toolkit after 1.0 happens and the game is fundamentally finished, but not before that for the same reason, an update could bork the toolkit and all the mods xD

And that isn't confirmation of a toolkit, just that they aren't against it or the idea of mods in general

While I can't read the devs minds, knowing it's a custom engine and the map has a LOT of POIs and handcrafted buildings I'd say the answer is just no. I doubt any modding capability they have would be robust enough to do that and even if it was it would take ages to generate because the map we have is so packed with jam.

My guess is that it would be simple in concept but difficult in practice. Like someone would probably be able to write a randomizer that could cobble together a world, and then just load a different set of world/quest/item data. But writing a good generator would probably take years to get results that are even remotely comparable to a hand crafted world.

Maybe do it on an alternate save file. The update isn't for another 1-2 months, but they mentioned some pretty hefty topography changes, so build with the idea that it might get borked xD

Howdy, I have a problem with the game and it consists in the fact that my friend and I play on her world and with her everything is running nicely and I feel like I'm playing on 500 ping every now and then it teleports me or moves me around the map, anyone had similar problems and knows how to solve it? The thing that was 'broken' has been fixed, which means it will now correctly register completion of the quest. The point you done it 2 or 3 times before means nothing.

Yea, honestly the base raids/night attacks are rather annoying. The combat itself is.... slow. As i say, it's okay and it works, but nothing really makes it stand out, aside from the contant appearance of a dragon. I've not really delved too much into building because it has the same structure stability as Valheim and after so long building in valheim i'd rather not have to deal with that anymore 😄

I didn't mind the integrity system in Valheim personally, I felt like it added a challenge to the building, but it did get annoying at times and I could see it being an issue depending on how well it's done. Valheim's was done very well and still managed to get annoying

Since you can freely fast travel to your altar, location doesn't matter much in terms of getting established. Either find a place you like the looks of, or take over an abandoned house like Peaceful Acres to get an early comfort boost

But even that isn't necessary since comfort is easy to boost as long as you build furniture and decorations

I assume you mean in Revelwood/Blackmire area to the NW - yes they are “terrain” so pick axe should work. As far as “regrowing” - i actually don’t know for sure in terms of outside your altar.

Certain plants don’t like certain soils. May also need to ensure adequate area/volume/depth of said soil. They can be finicky. Fertilized soil works well for most if not all trees - i usually use that when i want to plant stuff.

I think it is a decent mix of co-op and solo. I think there are some limitations with group play - more so around the platform, meaning there is no in-game way to find a group/join a group. Yes you can pop your world online and in theory people are free to join, but that is socially harder than being one of a larger group in a lobby vs private world if that makes sense?

I have only played solo. The idea of joining some random server of some random person isnt appealing. If it was more of a mmo/multiplayer style i think it would be more attractive to play with others. Idk it has more of a “play dnd with friends you know” vibe? Which is not a bad thing, its just a different vibe.

I greatly appreciate the game is playable either way though and you can enjoy the game regardless. Nothing is unachievable solo which is cool. I do think that could change long term if/when they get into end game content - say if they introduced raiding systems. But i kinda appreciate that it doesnt have that as it allows for a nice casual, exploratory play style. Like i dont need to level rush to end game so i can enjoy certain content.

I played through solo, it was a good experience. I think mostly it isn't set up to be a drop-in multiplayer game, so you either already have a group to play with or people work it out ahead of time in #1195389948069675009

The one player servers are probably where the group has finished the current content and people are just hopping on to a dedicated at different times to build. We're between updates too so the population is thin

I know for me, part of the issue is a large amount of player base are in the EU and a good 8 hours ahead of where I am - so often times the Discord for example is busiest when i am dead ass asleep 😄

We were trying to play Enshrouded with 3 players. 2 of us in EU and 1 in US west coast. Tried to just host a public game (one of the EU players) ingame and the other 2 join that. But this had very big issues for the US player latency wise, basically unplayable.
Would it be a better option to rent a server in like US east coast for all of us to play fine? Anyone experience with this?

Yep. Ammo, explosives, lots of potions and bandages, and spare weapons are all good calls. They do give you little rest areas where you can repair but some rooms have so many enemies that durability is still an issue

Ugh updated my graphics driver now I have to recompile everything

At least the game will potentially run faster. I've noticed some fps drops to 30 fps so hopefully that fixes it (I also use a gaming laptop with a 4060 mobile running at nearly max graphics so that might also be a culprit)

New to the game still trying to understand some stuff. I have the talents to increase my cutting dmg. is it added in to the number here? like would the Axe be better than the sword since it has cutting or is the raw dps just better?
Axe is 65dmg with +8 cutting and has increase crit him by 20% but the sword i got is 84 dmg with 5 +8 fire damage and im not sure which is better

Swords use cutting damage too, so the sword would still be better. The actual damage compared to a 'chance' of extra damage don't compare. Take the thing that always gives you more damage.

The modifiers tend to just add straight to the base of the sword, so it's mostly just addition. The multipliers are just based off the stat you pick and it applies to damage too, but it applies evenly to the weapons. (also, the 5 +8 fire damage on the swords are increased damage to but not always on everything, because some things don't take as much fire damage - really really good on fell stuff)

If you play melee, you should always keep a bow w/arrows, a wand, or a staff with the eternal spell with you. Wands are the best for dealing with the bees, but bow is a good second. Staff and bow are best for ranged guys
