Hey guys I have a question, I've got a group of around 10 people all complete and utterly brand new to enshrouded, I plan on purchasing a dedicated server for us but before I do... (If possible explain this without any major spoilers) is there anything concerning about gameplay experience being ruined by playing it with such a large group or if we need to have some form of rules to all do content at the exact same time?

Essentially what I'm wondering is if bosses respawn and also if others progressing past you would have any hindrance on experience

i actually just had a thought, in fallout 4 you could make fog condesners for far harbour which helped combat the fog, maybe in enshrouded something similar could be made to combat those odd pockets of shroud you find? enshrouded is about the shroud but it's also about rebuilding and reclaiming what was lost.

Yeah it should be your flame area. But ironically and in contradiction to the lore, the flame alter doesn't remove any shroud inside it's boundary.

This game needs a button ‘Hide weapon behind your back’ that would free your hands, as it was in valheim, because it looks strange that you are always walking around with a weapon in your hand, but it is not displayed on the character, like in a holster behind your back, takes you out of the immersion.

Do you think the Rogue Class deserved its own skill tree?
As you may know, the company that created Enshrouded was the same one that made Portal Knights (PK), and in PK there is a rogue class that focuses on skills such as becoming invisible, weak points, poison and also smoke;
Maybe the developers have in mind to make daggers as primary weapons??

Unless you're playing on a server why do you need to lock your storage, especially since you're meant to live together and play cooperatively?
There's specific locations you can climb, it's not like Breath of the wild.
No need for a mount as there are gliders and two types of fast travel points to get wherever you want to go.

You can either set share your world while you're online or rent/host a dedicated server. There aren't public servers.

realisticly you never really have to worry about loot, unless everyone plays the same build (melee 1h, 2h, daggers), ranger with bows or mage with wands and staff. When I played with my friend we decided from the start to go different builds so theres no need to fight over those juicy legendary drops.

No, it's not a daily thing, I mean if you play on server, you play with friends, you coordinate game sessions with you friends, a time when everyone is online at the same time and go do stuff together

Also everyone can play at different times or do some stuff alone in the server, they can always go and get mats from coffers as per their need s

We usually banter and joke when we notice someone is taking much of something that is on high demand and shame them into farming stuff to replace what they took

Since we're all friends, they take it lightly and just go and replace stuff or pay with something else

It cuts my average FPS from 70 with vsync turned off down to 20-25, and with vsync on it drops it from a steady 60 down to 20-25.

Yup, already reported it myself, do throw in your own report as well, the more the merrier! (I do believe they know about it) In case you don't know, if you open your own character screen/inventory it clears that FPS drop instantly.

I've also been having some issues with free-placing decorations because my player character is in the way, and this game doesn't have a proper "first person mode" to get around that. It's kind of frustrating having to blind-place something because your character is in the way, and it's also difficult to directly point at something because... again... it's third person mode.

Agreed. Little tip, if you're in a position to do so, place a wall or something 'behind' you, stand right against it then when you look at your building, you'll be looking through your character ^^

That can still be fiddly but it can help.

It doesn't really help with picking things up though, especially when you're placing multiple objects close together.

The lack of a proper first person view makes building (and picking things up) an absolute pain. God forbid you want to neatly place books on a bookshelf, and pick up that one book out of 20 that you accidentally misplaced. Or if you decide to put a table into a tight corner, and then place something in the center of that table.

I don't know anything about that, but a few tips:

• Resources will normally respawn when you reload the world (sever restart, or exit and rejoin a single-player world)
• Custom difficulty settings include things like "400% more stamina" and "200% more mining damage" etc.
• Characters and Worlds are separate - you can make multiple characters and put them in the same world

Using this information, you can make a new character with skills that only focus on being better at mining, and take them to a world with custom difficulty stats to help them mine longer and better, than load them into the world you are building your base in to unload the mined materials

This is not very nice IMO. None of my friends and I are necessarily "good" at gaming - We have full-time jobs and lives. People have wives and children that require attention. We game sporadically and in limited freetime. Everyone plays to have fun and get some time hanging out with friends. Being "good" is never a factor. Hell, there's a whole aspect of fun in game where you all suck together and laugh at how horrible you are at the game

Honestly, this game is ridiculously stable for an EA game. Almost every crashing issue I have come across (minus one that had to do with locations and they already fixed) has been caused by driver, shader or third party software interference. lol.

I can't speak much for the server stuff though - I only peek in there from time to time to humble myself. 🤣

to me it's like when you had to choose between squirtle (easy) charmander (medium) or bulbasaur (hard) since the first champion was Brock with rock type (who is weak against water, even on fire, BUT strong against grass)
to me enshrouded is melee (hard) archer (medium) magic (easy). don't know if it is intentional or what

Surprisingly, best shots I've seen weren't taken using dedicated macro lenses. Cheap nifty fifty, reverse ring on the filter thread, a cheap old telephoto screwen onto the ring ... and with that janky setup you just focus stack a bunch of incremental photos. takes good lighting and a reliable way to move the camera forward. And the insect has to be either asleep, or dead

They don't feel THAT much weaker than they used to, but they did get nerfed a bit.
Makes me focus on HP more, grab a few constitution points to stay alive, have one of my rings replaced by an HP ring... As a result I run out of mana and I actually need to use mana potions sometimes. Which is a good thing. Otherwise what's the point of having potions in the game

I like the Volcano. Was a bit of work to get to at low level, and all the enemies were higher level than me, so I mostly just avoided them - but it was worth it. It's a nice central location for a long time, and fills in what is basically a big dead space almost directly in the middle of 4 fast-travel points

It's kind of nice to build high up from the perspective of accessibility with a glider, but that will only be really useful while you're still playing in the same area. once you outlevel that area you won't care

Also there's no building physics so you can just build in the sky in the center of the map if you want

For me, it's do this or you won't survive. Like the excitement of exploring and finding the next item you will absolutely need in order to make it to the next week. I could live forever in the Meadows with Stone walls in Valheim. Even when others complete the game. So, I feel no need to move beyond Iron or Black Metal.

I've never gotten into ARK or games like it so to me Enshrouded and Valheim are "survival" because of the survival-crafting element and also I think that's literally the genre they're listed under in places like Steam... but probably just a case of the genre umbrella being larger than what people who get really into the games would classify them as. Good news for you then - ranger is easiest. Max out your dexterity with skills/food and make a bunch of stun arrows. You'll end up doing most of the work stunning the dragon (i.e., you get to be the hero)

a note on the update...I didn't even realize I'd had the arachnophobia setting on, and ran into some spiders and it worried me that somehow my game had become corrupted. Honestly, I think the new 'less creepy' spider models are more disturbing, as they look a lot like sheep with no 'fleece' textures. (at least the white ones, which were the ones i'd noticed).
