Depends on your income. And first thing you see on Steam is average reviews, early access, and trailer that looks bit too good. I've paid few times for games like Marauders that looked awesome, but loot at it now - it's basically dead. It's hard to find a decent game nowadays, especially ones in early access that has actually some fun content to offer that is at least a bit fresh and new. There is many people that often overlook games they would like, it's just certain scenarios that often prevents them from realizing what lies before them. And that's my case as well - saw this game once, 30€ was too much for me with my income, was early access, reviews were average.. so nothing screamed it could be a good fit for me. Only when I tried it for free, I realized it's actually a great game and worth the money.

Enshrouded is fairly priced especially for he amount of content and the work Keen has put into the game. It could definitely have been sold for $40 or more.

Also, what AAA games are you spending $90 on? Most are $60 to $70.

Depends on what kind of player you are. Do you enjoy doing things over again, are you a take your time player? If you take your time, you could probably start it now and be at a good spot when the update comes out anywhere from like 2-8 weeks from now (I think that was the estimate given the other day by someone).

The new update is going to include more levels it seems, so it's likely to be set after what's already there (just a guess though because we haven't had it confirmed for sure).

What's there already is fun to play and get you many hours of play (I currently have over 300 and I can't even play much), so it could keep you very busy until the new stuff comes out.

Waiting is also an option, so if you want to start clean and get to everything organically and in the order quests send you, that's valid too.

You can't SHOOT enemies form the shrubs that are designed to hide you, because your arrow destroys the bush when you fire

Enshrouded Server & Character Wipes

As of current writing (6 Febuary 2024) we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However, with the Enshrouded being in early access and the fact that a LOT of things will change between now and full release, we cannot guarantee that there may or may not be a major update
that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

REMINDER THIS IS AN EARLY ACCESS GAME.
